NYC: Girl, 15, Raped by Man Freed After Sex Assault on Boy
A parolee just released after eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a young boy and throwing him off a rooftop, is now accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in a Bronx stairwell, cops and sources said.
Casmine Aska, 29, allegedly pounced on the teen in an elevator at 140 Bellamy Loop in Co-Op City Thursday, forcing her into a stairwell and raping her, cops said. He was arrested Friday night and charged with first-degree rape, police said.
Aska had only been out on parole since Jan. 30 after being convicted of attempted murder when he pushed a 9-year-old boy — that he had sexually assaulted — off the roof of a five-story Bronx apartment building on Feb. 1, 2013, police sources said.
He was locked up in 2017 and served eight years in state prison, state prison records show.
Aska threw the child off the 1545 Nelson Ave. rooftop in Morris Heights after the victim threatened to report the sexual abuse, the sources said.
The fall left the boy in a coma. He briefly regained consciousness and told cops how his neighbor, Aska — 17 at the time — showed up at his third-floor home and dragged him to the roof.
“I’m praying to God that he gets better,” the boy’s heartbroken grandfather, 78, told The Post in Spanish at the time. “He had leg surgery, and at the same time, he was operated on his arm.”
The boy was placed on life support at the hospital but eventually survived.
His grandmother, then 72, said she was home during the incident, but thought the boy had gone to the corner store to get a soda for his mother.
The family didn’t realize what happened until a frantic neighbor yelled that the boy “is downstairs!”
By the time his mother rushed outside, the child was already being loaded into an ambulance.
Along with the second-degree attempted murder conviction, Aska was also charged with a criminal sex act, sex abuse, sexual misconduct and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 for the 2013 crime, the sources said.
He has also been arrested multiple times previously for resisting arrest, menacing and assault among other charges, the sources said.
He may have used aliases in past crimes, the sources added.

It appears as though Prince Andrew is already experiencing a setback just one month after signing a lucrative business deal.
The disgraced Duke of York, 64, last month secured a deal with a Dutch business firm that promised to pay him millions in exchange for his connections from the Pitch@Palace initiative.
Andrew’s joined venture with Startupbootcamp marked the first known work he’s undertaken since stepping down as a working member of the Firm in 2020.
However, sources close to the startup have told BBC News that weeks after the former working royal joined the team, nothing has been signed and no transactions have taken place.
The Post has reached out to Startupbootcamp and Buckingham Palace for comment.
Andrew was due to receive a cut for each deal Startupbootcamp made across global territories, as per the agreement.
Kauan von Novack, CEO of Startupbootcamp, even spoke out about the partnership with the scandal-scarred royal, saying the company’s mission “is to help entrepreneurs to create the change the world needs.”
“We see immense value in the network built up by Pitch@Palace,” he added at the time.
Still, there’s been no word from Andrew about the ambitious business venture.
Behind the scenes, Andrew has been doing all he can to remain at the Royal Lodge ever since his brother, King Charles, expressed a strong desire to downsize him into a smaller property.
Late last year, Andrew found himself on the brink of eviction — but nonetheless refused to move into the smaller Frogmore Cottage.
Despite being poised to leave the royal digs after Charles refused to continue financially carrying his brother’s weight, Andrew sensationally managed to find a mystery financial backer at the eleventh hour.
The new gig was said to have been a financial lifeline that could have provided him with a much-needed cash boost. However, it’s now been thrust into doubt given that no transactions have taken place.
It comes as Andrew had taken up household chores in a desperate bid to pinch a few pennies around Royal Lodge, given its “shocking” current state.

A deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia “is still very, very far away,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, adding that he expects to keep receiving American support despite his recent fraught relations with U.S. President Donald Trump.
“I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it’s more than an occasional relationship,” Zelenskyy said late Sunday, referring to Washington’s support for the past three years of war.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed changing the army’s name for the ongoing war against Hamas and Iran’s proxies to the “War of Revival,” telling ministers Monday that it better reflected the nature of the conflict.
The year-long conflict has hitherto been known officially by the name of the military campaign — “Swords of Iron.”
Netanyahu made the suggestion during a special cabinet meeting to mark the first anniversary of the start of the war on October 7, 2023, when Palestinian terror group Hamas led a devastating cross-border attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, while 251 were taken as hostages to the Gaza Strip.
“This is the war of our existence — the ‘War of Revival,'” the prime minister said at the meeting, according to a statement from his office. “This is what I would like to officially call the war.”
Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Social Equity Minister Amichai Chikli both objected to the suggestion, saying it sounded too similar to the Hebrew name for the 1948 War of Independence that followed the establishment of the State of Israel, the Ynet new site reported.
