Sean Davis: You Can Draw a Straight Line From Ukraine Today to US Policy in 2014

Federalist CEO Sean Davis says you can draw a straight line from what's currently happening in Ukraine to the Obama-Biden foreign policy in 2014. Remember, the Obama administration under which Russia invaded Ukraine?

This is a bit long, but stick with it:

You can draw a straight line from what’s happening with Ukraine today back to the Obama-Biden foreign policy of 2014: they launched a coup to install a puppet government in Ukraine, then used the country as a base of operations for corrupt money laundering and enrichment of the…

… and enrichment of the regime’s friends and family, all funded by the American taxpayer. It wasn’t just Hunter Biden getting paid (though he was the most obvious). They were all doing it.

If Zelensky falls and an accountable government is elected, it’s over for everyone who used that country as a piggy bank for the last decade, and they all know it. That knowledge is what unites Obama-era Democrats and neocons. Nobody can ever find out what they’ve been doing, and the best way to keep it all hidden is to make sure the war never ends.

Remember when they bombed Nordstream—Putin’s largest source of economic leverage over Europe—and then tried to claim Putin blew it up? Just wait to see what they come up when they finally decide Zelensky has outlived his usefulness.

And to prove Davis' point, here's Sen. Chris Murphy, who met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before his meeting with Trump and probably goaded him on, back in 2014:

In 2014, Senator Chris Murphy bragged about the United States successfully overthrowing Ukraine's government:

"I think it was our role, including sanctions and threats of sanctions, that forced, in part, Yanukovych from office."

WATCH: Top Democrat Attack Dog Maxine Waters Tries to Storm HUD Building to Protest DOGE Cuts – HUD Spox Responds with FIRE

Top Democrat attack dog Maxine Waters, 86, rallied outside the Housing and Urban Development headquarters on Monday to protest DOGE cuts.

HUD is planning on laying off 50% of its workforce after DOGE identified $260 million in wasteful contracts.

“Rep. Maxine Waters was joined by Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen and others to try to deliver a letter demanding answers from HUD Secretary Scott Turner. The lawmakers were met by security and Turner’s Chief of Staff who told them he was “too busy” to receive their letter, according to Waters,” WUSA 9 reported.

Democrat lawmakers such as Maxine Waters are furious that DOGE saves taxpayers money by cutting wasteful contracts.

Maxine Waters attacked Elon Musk on Monday evening again: “Elon Musk’s 13 children sleep good at night. What happens to the other children in America?”

A HUD spox responded to Maxine Waters with FIRE!

This is exactly what we voted for.

Per Fox News reporter Chad Pergram:

HUD spox on Dem CA Rep Waters protesting DOGE cuts at HUR today: The Department appreciates the Congresswoman’s interest in DOGE. While she has questions for the Department about how it is efficiently and effectively using taxpayer dollars, the Department also has questions for her, including:

•Is it true that members of her family profited from her position as an elected official? This was reported by the LA Times.

•Does she agree with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics that she is one of the “most corrupt” Members of Congress? Does she think she deserved to win the award four times?

•Would she be open to leading by example and allowing DOGE to ensure that she is using taxpayer dollars responsibly to serve Californians? If not, what does she have to hide?

•Did she enjoy the 47-minute video of President Trump’s accomplishments playing in the lobby?

US to get 30 nuclear microreactors to generate clean energy for data centers

Last Energy’s PWR-20 is designed for mass production to scale output to user demand.

A Washington-based firm has decided to build 30 microreactors in Haskell County, Texas. Last Energy has obtained control of a 200-acre site to provide power to off-takers via a mix of private wire and grid transmission.

The facility is expected to serve American data center customers across the state. “Texas is the energy capital of America, and we are working to be No. 1 in advanced nuclear power,” said Governor Abbott.

“Last Energy’s microreactor project in Haskell County will help fulfill the state’s growing data center demand. Texas must become a national leader in advanced nuclear energy. By working together with industry leaders like Last Energy, we will usher in a nuclear power renaissance in the United States.”

Crucial role in adding capacity to grid

Last Energy revealed that the Northwest Texas project will play a crucial role in adding capacity to the grid and meeting data center deployment projections. Texas is currently home to over 340 data centers which consume nearly eight gigawatts of power and make up nine percent of all Texas electricity demand.

In the Dallas-Fort Worth region alone, data centers are expected to drive an additional 43 gigawatts of demand. Last Energy’s PWR-20 is designed for mass-manufacturability to scale output to user demand. PWR-20, which produces 20 MWe, is fully modular and designed for flexible siting, plug-and-play installation, and rapid scalability.

Nuclear power effective way to meet Texas’ demand

Bret Kugelmass, Founder and CEO of Last Energy, stated that Texas is America’s undisputed energy leader, but skyrocketing population growth and data center development are forcing policymakers, customers, and energy providers to embrace new technologies.

“Nuclear power is the most effective way to meet Texas’ demand, but our solution — plug-and-play microreactors, designed for scalability and siting flexibility — is the best way to meet it quickly. Texas is a state that recognizes energy is a precondition for prosperity, and Last Energy is excited to contribute to that mission.”

Last Energy has already filed for a grid connection with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and, following briefings with local stakeholders, is preparing to file for an Early Site Permit (ESP) with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Two full-scale prototypes developed in Texas

Earlier, the company built two full-scale prototypes in Texas with local manufacturing partners. Last Energy has also held multiple demonstration events in Texas with industry and government stakeholders, including in Houston, during CERAWeek 2024. In addition to developing its site in Texas, Last Energy is exploring projects in Utah, according to a press release.

Reed Clay, president of the Texas Nuclear Alliance, stated that Texas’ growing data center industry will require reliable and resilient power sources that operate 24/7.

“Nuclear energy is the self-evident solution to the state’s growing demand. Last Energy’s Haskell County project is a model of how next-generation nuclear can integrate seamlessly into high-demand industries and showcases how innovation can drive both energy security and the future of global connectivity,” concluded Clay.

US halts all military aid to Ukraine – media

President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered the suspension of the delivery of weapons to Kiev

US President Donald Trump has instructed the Defense Department to pause all military aid to Ukraine following his public spat with Vladimir Zelensky, news agencies reported on Monday, citing American officials.

According to Bloomberg, the freeze affects the equipment already designated for delivery, including weapons in transit on aircraft and ships or waiting in transit areas in Poland.

The suspension will stay in place until Trump sees that the Ukrainian leaders “demonstrate a good-faith commitment to peace,” Bloomberg said, citing a senior Pentagon official.

According to the New York Times, the order takes effect immediately and affects more than $1 billion in “arms and ammunition in the pipeline and on order.”

“The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” a White House official told Reuters.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier on Monday that Washington has stopped funding new weapons sales to Ukraine and was considering freezing weapons shipments.

Trump has repeatedly accused Zelensky of undermining his effort to broker a peace deal between Kiev and Moscow. Their public feud culminated in an unprecedented shouting match during a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday, after which Trump said that Zelensky was disrespectful to the US.

Zelensky has insisted that a ceasefire must be tied to security guarantees provided by the US and other Western countries. Trump, however, has refused to commit to specific guarantees and has ruled out making Ukraine a NATO member or contributing American troops to a potential peacekeeping mission.

On Sunday, Zelensky told reporters that “an agreement to end the war is still very, very far away, and no one has started all these steps yet.” Trump condemned his statement on social media, promising that “America will not put up with it for much longer.”

“This guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Zelensky told reporters last month that Ukraine had a “low chance” of survival without American aid.

The US is one of Kiev’s principal suppliers of weapons, including M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley armored vehicles, M777 howitzers, HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and artillery rounds. As of December 2024, the Pentagon has committed more than $66 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since 2022.

Russia has stressed that no amount of Western aid would stop its troops in Ukraine.

Churchill’s grandnephew lashes out at Zelensky comparisons

James Spencer-Churchill has condemned the misuse of his great-uncle’s legacy to endorse the Ukraine conflict

James Spencer-Churchill, a relative of Winston Churchill, has challenged the comparison of his great-uncle to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. The UK has reaffirmed its position as one of Kiev’s main backers after a falling out between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.

Spencer-Churchill was responding to a tweet by Michael Ashcroft, former deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, in which the latter drew a parallel between the two figures.

“As a wartime leader I’m sure our great Winston Churchill would be proud of @Zelenskyy,” Ashcroft posted on his X platform on Saturday.

Spencer-Churchill contested the comparison, suggesting Ashcroft was misusing his famous relative’s name to justify the conflict in Ukraine.

“I don’t think so @LordAshcroft. Winston was my great uncle and I knew him well; he would be appalled at the constant hijacking of the Churchill name to justify such insanity and the needless loss of life,” he responded on X.

The UK has taken center stage as a key supporter of Ukraine following the rift between Zelensky and the Trump administration. Zelensky’s trip to the White House on Friday was abruptly cut short after the meeting devolved into a shouting match in front of the media. Trump accused the Ukrainian leader of “gambling with World War III” due to his reluctance to negotiate peace with Russia.

After the debacle, Zelensky flew directly to London to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who assured the Ukrainian of the UK’s continued support in the conflict. On Sunday, Starmer announced that the UK and France were ready to lead a coalition to provide military support to Ukraine, including the deployment of troops and aircraft, stressing the necessity of the EU and others to stepping up as well.

US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, who also drew the comparison between Zelensky and Winston Churchill in 2022, has recently likened the Ukrainian leader to an “ex-girlfriend that wants to argue everything that you said nine years ago, rather than moving the relationship forward.”

Trump recently described Zelensky as a “dictator without elections” and accused him of having only single-digit approval ratings. Zelensky cancelled elections last year, citing martial law.

Zelensky also invoked the words of Britain’s wartime leader in his appeal to the UK Parliament for aid in 2022.

“We will not surrender, we will not lose, we will go to the end,” he told British MPs.

Time isn’t on Zelensky’s side – White House

The patience of the American people is not unlimited, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has warned

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has warned Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky not to test the limits of America’s patience, financial support, and military resources, arguing that now is the time to shift towards negotiations rather than prolonging the conflict with Russia.

“[Zelensky] is not ready to talk peace at all. Here is the problem, time is not on his side. Time is not on the side of just forever continuing this conflict,” Waltz said on Fox News on Monday.

Zelensky’s visit to the White House last Friday was abruptly cut short after a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance in front of the media.

During the shouting match, the Ukrainian leader again ruled out the possibility of talks with Moscow, demanded security guarantees from Washington, refused to acknowledge that Kiev’s forces are experiencing manpower shortages and implied that Vance could not have known anything about his country’s problems because he’s never been there.

In the aftermath of the tense Oval Office meeting, Waltz suggested that Zelensky’s failure to achieve a desirable outcome had done Ukraine a "real disservice."

“It was really confounding to us that Zelensky could have left the White House Friday having the US and Ukraine bound together economically for a generation,” he said. Zelensky was expected to finalize a deal with the US, granting it access to Ukraine’s vast deposits of mineral resources to compensate Washington for past military aid.

Waltz also criticized the ongoing “World War I-style trench warfare” as a costly strategy and underscored Trump’s commitment to ending the conflict.

When pressed by a CNN presenter last Sunday as to whether the White House wanted Zelensky to step down, Waltz clarified that “we need a leader that can deal with us, eventually deal with the Russians, and end this war.”

In an interview with Breitbart Radio on Saturday, Waltz compared Zelensky to an “ex-girlfriend that wants to argue everything that you said nine years ago, rather than moving the relationship forward.”

Police: Woman Hospitalized After Scorpion Sting at Boston Logan Airport

A woman was hospitalized after being stung by a scorpion on Sunday night at Boston Logan International Airport, authorities said.

The woman, 40, was stung while gathering her luggage in the baggage claim area of customs at 7:30 p.m. in Terminal E, Boston25 News reported, citing the Massachusetts State Police. She was quickly rushed to the hospital following the sting.

Authorities have not released the woman’s name and did not provide immediate word on her condition, according to the report.

Authorities did not make it clear where the scorpion came from or how it ended up in the airport.

“Scorpions are commonly thought of as desert dwellers, but they also live in Brazilian forests, British Columbia, North Carolina, and even the Himalayas, National Geographic noted. They may have as many as 45 different toxins in their venom, according to the San Diego Zoo,” the report states.

The incident is still under investigation.
