Originally I thought the same but I watched the entire exchange multiple times, and I think little X has been schooled by Dad that the Press are evil - kids can get a sense of things too. They can see things adults have been conditioned to disregard.
During the whole interview he's continuously scolding the press fags. He never makes eye contact with the President directly.
