Far-Left New York Times Pushes Wild Claim That Elon Musk and Marco Rubio Had ‘Knock-Down, Drag-Out Fight’ in White House Cabinet Meeting — Trump Reportedly Intervened on Rubio’s Behalf

The far-left New York Times has dropped a report claiming that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and billionaire genius Elon Musk engaged in a shouting match during a private White House Cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Mediaite, another propaganda arm for radical leftists, described it as a “knock-down, drag-out fight.”

The “reporting” comes from Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman, two of the Times’ biggest anti-Trump mouthpieces, and the supposed dust-up ended when President Trump stepped in to defend Rubio and set the record straight on the administration’s priorities.

The Times alleges that Musk accused Rubio of being ineffective in his role, criticizing him for not firing enough State Department employees.

Rubio, in turn, reportedly pushed back, detailing the extensive restructuring efforts he has implemented, including voluntary buyouts for over 1,500 employees. The newspaper goes on to suggest that the argument got so heated that it required Trump’s intervention to settle the dispute.

Of course, The New York Times fails to provide any direct evidence or on-the-record sources to back up their salacious claims, relying instead on anonymous leaks from five individuals purportedly “familiar with the matter.”

The Times claims Trump told Musk that his team would no longer be calling the shots unilaterally and that Cabinet secretaries would maintain control.

The New York Times reported:

Mr. Rubio had been privately furious with Mr. Musk for weeks, ever since his team effectively shuttered an entire agency that was supposedly under Mr. Rubio’s control: the United States Agency for International Development. But, in the extraordinary cabinet meeting in front of President Trump and around 20 others — details of which have not been reported before — Mr. Rubio got his grievances off his chest.

Mr. Musk was not being truthful, Mr. Rubio said. What about the more than 1,500 State Department officials who took early retirement in buyouts? Didn’t they count as layoffs? He asked, sarcastically, whether Mr. Musk wanted him to rehire all those people just so he could make a show of firing them again. Then he laid out his detailed plans for reorganizing the State Department.

WHOA! Hampton Dellinger Tries to Manipulate Appeals Court After Ending Legal Battle with Trump – But the DOJ Isn’t Having It!

Hampton Dellinger is still playing games with the appeals court after he backed down and ended his legal battle with President Trump.

On Thursday Hampton Dellinger finally ended his legal battle against President Trump.

President Trump fired Hampton Dellinger, the Special Counsel for the Office of Special Counsel last month, however, the Biden holdover continued to fight Trump in court and was successful because the case was assigned to a corrupt Obama judge.

However, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday evening allowed President Trump’s firing of Hampton Dellinger to proceed.

The appeals court granted a motion to stay Judge Amy Berman Jackson’s order reinstating the Biden holdover.

Following the ruling from the DC Circuit Court, Hampton Dellinger said he is ending his legal fight with Trump.

“I’m ending my legal battle so my time as Special Counsel and head of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) is now over,” Hampton Dellinger wrote in a statement.

Dellinger blasted the appeals court after judges Henderson (George W. Bush appointee), Millett (Obama appointee), and Walker (Trump appointee) ruled against him.

“I think the circuit judges erred badly because their willingness to sign off on my ouster — even if presented as possibly temporary — immediately erases the independence Congress provided for my position, a vital protection that has been accepted as lawful for nearly fifty years. Until now. And given the circuit court’s adverse ruling, I think my odds of ultimately prevailing before the Supreme Court are long. Meanwhile, the harm to the agency and those who rely on it caused by a Special Counsel who is not independent could be immediate, grievous, and, I fear, uncorrectable,” Dellinger wrote on Thursday.

Later Thursday Hampton Dellinger proceeded to file a letter with the appeals court saying since he ended his legal battle, the appeal is moot.

The government hit back at Dellinger later Thursday and said the appeal is still live.

Dellinger is trying to stop the appeals court from issuing a ruling but the DOJ is not having it.

“Plaintiff’s assertion that he is “negotiating with the government regarding the proper next steps to bring this litigation to an end” is also curious. Plaintiff has not proposed any stipulation under Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1) or sought our consent to a motion under Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(2). Plaintiff has communicated that he would “take no position on a motion to vacate the underlying judgment.” But that only confirms that this appeal is not moot,” the DOJ wrote.

“Again, the appeal will become moot only if and when the permanent injunction from which it arises is dissolved and plaintiff’s complaint is dismissed with prejudice – a result that plaintiff so far has made no effort to effectuate,” the DOJ said.

The DOJ accused Hampton Dellinger of attempting to “prevent the issuance” of an opinion from the appeals court.

BREAKING: As I noted yesterday Dellinger sending a letter to the Court of Appeals saying the appeal is "moot" is NOT how it works!! Government now sends a letter saying precisely that AND noting Dellinger seems to be trying to prevent COA from issuing its decision. 1/ https://t.co/JqfSgyVKbe pic.twitter.com/FIXIaCmC91

State Department looks to close consulates, trim global workforce: Reports

It is not clear how many embassies and consulates the department is looking to close, but one memo proposes closing a dozen consulates, primarily in Western Europe.

The State Department is reportedly looking to reduce its global workforce and close some of its consulates, in the federal government's latest efforts to trim its staff, department officials told several news outlets on Thursday.

The Trump administration has launched a widespread mission to cut wasteful spending, and improve government efficiency, which has also resulted in thousands of federal employees losing their jobs.

The department is also expected to trim its workforce by firing many local citizens who work for its missions.

It is not clear how many embassies and consulates the department is looking to close, but one memo proposes closing a dozen consulates, primarily in Western Europe, sources told the New York Times.

Those closures include consulates in Florence, Italy; Strasbourg, France; Hamburg, Germany; and Ponta Delgada, Portugal.

The department also notified two congressional committees of the planned closures last month, and department officials told the committees on Monday that they additionally plan to close a consulate in Gaziantep, Turkey.

“The State Department continues to assess our global posture to ensure we are best positioned to address modern challenges on behalf of the American people,” the agency said in a statement to the New York Times.

The efforts are part of a larger plan to reduce the department's operating budget by up to 20%, two U.S. officials said.
