I never thought I’d be anxiously tuning in to see the results of political elections in Greenland, and yet here we are in 2025!
Actually, I never found politics all that interesting in general, at least that is until President Trump took that famous escalator ride in 2015 and everything changed from that moment forward.
Flash-forward ten years and I’m now eagerly telling you why the new elections in Greenland just changed everything!
No, they didn’t vote to become our 51st State, it’s not quite that extreme, but it is a huge change.

The AP tries to paint this as a loss for Trump, but also admits it’s a clear move away from Denmark:
Greenland’s likely new prime minister on Wednesday rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s effort to take control of the island, saying Greenlanders must be allowed to decide their own future as it moves toward independence from Denmark.
Jens-Frederik Nielsen’s Demokraatit, a pro-business party that favors a slow path to independence, won a surprise victory in Tuesday’s parliamentary election, outpacing the two left-leaning parties that formed the last government. With most Greenlanders opposing Trump’s overtures, the campaign focused more on issues like healthcare and education than on geopolitics.

Trump demands ‘military options’ to control Panama Canal – media
The Pentagon was reportedly ordered to provide “credible” plans for securing US access to the key waterway
President Donald Trump has directed the US military to develop plans to “secure” the Panama Canal from alleged Chinese influence, following multiple threats to “reclaim” and “take back” the waterway, according to sources cited by Reuters, CNN and NBC.
The Panama Canal, a vital maritime route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, has been under Panamanian control since 1999 following the Torrijos-Carter Treaties, which stipulated that it would remain neutral and open to all nations. Trump has repeatedly threatened to take back control of the waterway, citing “ridiculous fees” and concerns over China’s increasing presence in the region.
Earlier this year, Trump refused to rule out the use of military force to take control of the canal, stating that all options were on the table to protect US economic and national security interests.
In an Interim National Defense Strategic Guidance memo obtained by CNN on Thursday, the White House formally asked the Pentagon to “immediately” provide options to ensure unlimited US access to the canal.
“Provide credible military options to ensure fair and unfettered US military and commercial access to the Panama Canal,” one of the directives in the memo reportedly stated.
US Southern Command is already developing potential plans, ranging from “partnering” closely with Panamanian security forces to a scenario in which US troops seize the canal by force, unnamed officials told NBC. Sources cited by Reuters also said the Pentagon had been ordered to explore military options to secure US access to the waterway.
Panamanian officials previously firmly rejected Trump’s assertions and threats, while the Panama Canal Authority maintains that the canal is operated solely by Panamanians, with no evidence supporting claims of Chinese control.
President Jose Raul Mulino stated that the canal is part of Panama’s “inalienable patrimony” and emphasized that Panama maintains full control of its operations. However, after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio personally delivered Trump’s ultimatum to Panama in February, Mulino made a concession to Washington by refusing to renew the country’s 2017 agreements with China under Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative.

US to send upgraded long-range bombs to Ukraine – Reuters
The previous GLSDB variant proved ineffective against Russian electronic warfare
The United States has upgraded the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDB) to counter Russian jamming and is set to “reintroduce” them onto the battlefield in Ukraine within days, according to a Reuters report.
The GLSDB, jointly developed by Boeing and SAAB AB, combines the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb with the M26 rocket motor, creating a weapon with a range of approximately 100 miles (161 kilometers).
The administration of former President Joe Biden sent an undisclosed number of GLSDB units to Kiev, but it has been “months” since Ukrainian forces last used the bomb against Russia after it proved ineffective last year, sources told Reuters.
Russia’s electronic warfare capabilities rendered precision-guided Western munitions – including GLSDB and GPS-guided Excalibur artillery shells – ”useless,” the Wall Street Journal reported in July. With their guidance systems scrambled, some of these weapons were reportedly retired within weeks of being deployed.
Since then, Boeing has introduced several upgrades, including reinforced internal connections to enhance resistance to jamming. According to Reuters sources, at least 19 GLSDBs were test-fired in “recent weeks” to assess the effectiveness of the modifications. The US has stockpiled a significant number of these relatively inexpensive bombs in Europe and is “poised” to resume shipments to Kiev within days, the publication reported.
The potential replacement comes amid reports that Ukraine has depleted its stockpile of US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), which have a longer range of 300 km.
Kiev began using ATACMS missiles for strikes into internationally recognized Russian territory in the autumn of 2024, particularly targeting the border regions of Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, and Rostov. However, the stockpile was fully exhausted by late January, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday.
Moscow has repeatedly warned the US and its allies against permitting long-range Ukrainian strikes, arguing that such attacks would make NATO a direct participant in the conflict due to Kiev’s reliance on Western-supplied weapons.
In response to Ukraine’s first ATACMS strikes in November last year, Russia launched its new hypersonic Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile at the Yuzhmash military-industrial facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnepr.

Brown has been charged with six felonies including traveling to commit burglary outside of a county residence, burglarizing a dwelling, two counts of possession of a stolen ID, and home solicitation without a permit.
A trans-identified Florida resident with an extensive criminal history who allegedly works for a Democratic congressional campaign has been arrested for allegedly stealing a child's bicycle. Arlecia Darnae Brown, 39, of Orlando, was taken into custody on March 7 in Palm Coast. Brown faces a variety of felony charges and has been booked into the Flagler County Jail on $67,500 bail.
Brown, who identifies as a man, has been accused of stealing a child's bicycle out of an open garage on March 6 in a Palm Coast neighborhood. Authorities responded to reports of a suspicious person in the yard of a vacant home the following day in the same neighborhood. Deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office located Brown on the property, who was found distributing campaign fliers for Florida congressional candidate Josh Weil, a progressive Democrat. In a press release, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said that a mother reported the stolen bike to police after her child had left it in their open garage and when the child returned to grab it, it was gone.
Authorities located the stolen bike behind a tool shed at the vacant home and took Brown into custody, Fox 35 reported. Brown has been charged with six felonies including traveling to commit burglary outside of a county residence, burglarizing a dwelling, possession of burglary tools with intent to commit a burglary, two counts of possession of a stolen ID, and home solicitation without a permit. Brown also faces one misdemeanor charge of petit property theft, according to jail records.
Brown has a significant criminal record, as evidenced by Brown's convictions for aggravated assault, robbery with a firearm, and firearm possession as a convicted felon, according to investigators.
It's unclear if Brown is employed by Weil's campaign or had been distributing the fliers on Brown's own accord. Weil is currently campaigning on putting "the brakes on the Trump administration."
Rick Staly, the Sheriff of Flagler County, attributed the arrest to the community's cooperation and the expeditious investigative work.
"This is a perfect example of a crime of opportunity," said Sheriff Staly. "I encourage all residents to stay vigilant, lock their doors, and report suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately."

State Rep. Laurel Libby Files Lawsuit After Censured for Standing Up for Girls' Sports
With Maine defying President Donald Trump's executive order on protecting girls' and women's sports, the administration has continuously taken action against the state to ensure enforcement, including this week. It's not just the Trump administration standing up to Gov. Janet Mills and other Maine Democrats, though. State Rep. Laurel Libby, a Republican, has made it quite clear she's with the president on this key issue, and was censured last month as a result. She vowed that she would not be silenced, though, and on Tuesday, she announced she's suing Maine Speaker Ryan Fecteau, a Democrat.

"Instead of having an open and honest debate about the devastating impacts of Maine girls being forced to compete against biological males, Speaker Fecteau and his Democratic colleagues resorted to canceling and silencing me. Speaker Fecteau and the Democrat majority are risking hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding for our schools by stubbornly refusing to address this injustice," she pointed out, also highlighting how Mills and Fecteau are harming the state. "I have the constitutional right to speak out and my constituents have the right to full representation in the Maine House. Biological males have no place in girls' sports. Our girls have every right, under federal law, to fair competition in sports. We will not let them be erased by the Democrat majority advancing a woke progressive agenda."
Libby also commented on the lawsuit in reply over X to Alleigh Marré, the founder of American Parents Coalition, reiterating that she, her constituents, and the Maine girls she is speaking up for "will not be silenced."
