Long story short:

In 2016, a young white man, Spencer Sadler, and his "best friend," native American, Matthew Battise, were partying with their friends on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation - as they did every weekend. Every weekend usually resulted in a drunken orgy for this group of young people with all of them jumping from one sex partner to another. For some unknown reason, this particular weekend, Matthew turned on Spencer and he, and the others, stomped Spencer to death. Spencer was the only white party-goer there. Initially, they tried to claim Spencer was trying to rape one of the girls, except on examination, the girl was found with multiple semen types in her vagina, so the rape claim quickly went out the window.

The Reservation hired high-dollar lawyers for Matthew. They are/were trying to get a casino built and want this swept under the rug. Nine years, and this case still has not come to trial. It's been delay after delay after delay, and lie after lie after lie.

Now, the Rez is trying to have the charges dismissed thru Matthew's lawyer.

Had Spencer been Native American and Matthew been white, this case would have been tried long ago. Spencer's parents had to identify him by the chain around his neck because his face was unrecognizable.
