nah groceries isn't an old fashion word.
but grocery store is an old fashion way of business.
everything is market / super market now.

grew up saying it.
ppl would tell the grocers what they want at the grocery store and the grocer would get it.
now we walk through with a basket or cart and pick our items ourselves.
like a market.
