Trump won’t rule out seeking a third term in the White House, tells NBC News ‘there are methods’ for doing so

President Donald Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call that he was “not joking” about a third term, adding that “it is far too early to think about it.”

March 30, 2025, 12:10 PM EDT

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, saying in an exclusive interview with NBC News that there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”

“A lot of people want me to do it,”Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

“I’m focused on the current,” Trump added, in some of his most extensive comments to date about serving a third term.

When asked whether he wanted another term, the president responded,“I like working.” “I’m not joking,” Trump said, when asked to clarify. “But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it.”

When asked whether he has been presented with plans to allow him to seek a third term, Trump said,“There are methods which you could do it.”

NBC News asked about a possiblescenario in which Vice President JD Vance would run for officeand then pass the role to Trump. Trump responded that “that’s one” method.

“But there are others too,”Trump added.Asked to share another method, Trump simply responded“no.”KEK

Amending the Constitution to abolish the two-term limit would be exceedingly difficult, requiring either a two-thirds vote of Congress or two-thirds of the states agreeing to call a constitutional convention to propose changes. Either route would then require ratification from three-quarters of the states.

The president pointed to his poll numbers, saying that “a lot of people would like me to” hold office for a third term. Trump has previously commented on running for a third term in office, though Republicans have seen these comments as jokes or the president trolling his critics.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., crafted a resolution calling for the extension of presidential term limits, which would allow Trump to seek another term in office.Meanwhile, Trump ally Steve Bannon said in an interview on News Nation that he believes Trump will “run and win again in 2028.”Bannon said in the same interview that he thought “we’ll have a couple of alternatives” in determining how Trump could seek a third term despite the two-term maximum for holding the presidency.

The White House has amplified Trump’s comments likening himself to royalty, posting a picture of a fake magazine coverdepicting the president with a crown after the administration shot down congestion pricing in New York City. The White House’s post to X quoted Trump’s previous comments on Truth Social: “LONG LIVE THE KING!”

(Kek he’s definitely given NBC something to worry about for 3-3/4 years. They have their best researchers on it night and day!)

Guaranteed TDS will explode with DemocratsI love our President!

Amsterdam mayor gives hero award to ‘modest’ English tourist who tackled knifeman

The mystery hero should be made an honorary Amsterdamer, locals said

Barney Davis 3/29/25

The Mayor of Amsterdam has given a “hero’s medal” to anEnglish tourist who chased a knifeman through busy alleys and pinned him to the ground, bringing an end to his rampage.

Footage shows a man, in casual clothes, kneeling on top of the suspect and threatening to punch him as he waits for police while shoppers file past him near the central Dam’s Square on Thursday.

In a message on Instagram, Mayor Femke Halsema thanked him for his heroic actions. He received a hero's badge in her official residence, she told reporters.

"He is a very modest British man," Halsema told Amsterdam news channel AT5. "=He has no desire to become famous. He is now mainly concerned with the victims, he feels responsible for them==." She said the man made a decision in “a split second for which there should be a lot of appreciation”.

“The tourist was walking on Nieuwendijk and heard a commotion”, she said.

"He saw someone pass by and instinctively thought ‘this is not right, something bad is happening here’. He managed to tackle him to the ground."

She said the five victims were now all stable, adding:“Everything is being done to determine the identity of the perpetrator.(he’s from Ukraine, a migrant, it was released yesterday)

“At this point that is not clear. As long as there is no clarity about that, we know little about the motive.”

An Amsterdam police spokesman told Dutch news outlet AD the British man did a great job performing a “rare citizens arrest”.

“We're very proud of him, but we also want to point out that you need to be very careful if you want to make a citizen's arrest. Most people are not trained for this sort of thing.”

The mystery man’s actions were hailed on social media with locals saying he should be made an honorary “Amsterdamer”.

One said on a TikTok: “What a hero! What a stunner! He sees danger and immediately intervenes and ensures that other fellow human beings are safe. Respect!”

The stabbings reportedly took place in various locations. The seriously injured victims were identified as a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old manfrom the United States, a73-year-old woman from Belgium, a 26-year-old man from Poland and a 19-year-oldDutch woman from Amsterdam.

Authorities said in a statement that no motive had been established for the attack, but that police were considering a scenario where the man targeted victims at random. (Why do they say no motive, he just wanted to kill people.)

An employee of the Febo fast food restaurant told The Independent the suspect was tackled to the ground outside the eatery by members of the public. “I was trying to get to work and everything was closed down and locked off. The guy was lying there right in front of my work,” the employee, who declined to be named, said.

From De Telegraaf

Local media reported on Friday, citing security sources, that the suspect is 30-year-old Ukraininan citizen Roman D. He is originally from Donetsk Region – a former part of Ukraine that voted to join Russia in 2022.

According to De Telegraaf, the presumed attacker had false identity papers and refused to give his real personal details. The man is currently in a hospital under strict guard. Police say his motives are still unknown. It is also believed that his choice of victims was random.

White House officials are quietly freaking out about Trump upcoming 'Liberation Day' tariff announcement

21:32 EDT 29 Mar 2025, updated 10:52 EDT 30 Mar 2025 By JAMES GORDON1/2

The mood inside the White House is verging on panic with just days to go before Donald Trump's 'Liberation Day' on April 2. Trump is expected to unveil sweeping new tariffs on America's global trading partners, but those tasked with implementing his agenda admit they're uncertain.

Behind closed doors, top administration officials are deeply concerned, with many quietly admitting they're unsure what the president is actually going to do.'No one knows what the f*** is going on,' one White House ally close to Trump's inner circle told Politico.

From the vice president to the Cabinet, from financial markets to foreign capitals, the Trump administration's aggressive new tariff push istriggering anxieties on a global scale with even Trump's staunchest allies are bracing for a chaotic rollout.

The president has signaled that more than $1 trillion in trade could be affected. But withless than a week to go, even the most basic details including which countries will be hit, at what rates, and for which goods, remain undecided or constantly shifting.

White House officials have spent the past several weeks privately assuring business leaders, financial executives, and Republican lawmakers that a clearer, more stable trade agenda is coming. One goal is to calm markets rattled by previous tariff announcements that has caused the S&P 500 to shed all gains made since November's Election Day.

But behind the public messaging lies a far more chaotic reality.Trump has repeatedly overridden or contradicted his own advisers on trade policy.

Officials like Vice President J.D. Vance, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessenthave pushed for a smaller, more targeted tariff plan, or at least a structured rollout that allows businesses to prepare.

But the president has fluctuated wildly between levies on specific sectors and blanket tariffs on all countries.'We may have sectoral tariffs on April 2, and we may not,' said one White House official this week to Politico, granted anonymity due to ongoing deliberations.

'No final decisions have been made yet.' Even core strategic decisions appear to remain unsettled.

Administration officials have floated the idea of calculating tariffs 'reciprocally,' based on how countries treat US exports- but the president has shown little interest in the technicalities.

Earlier this week he blindsided his staff with a sudden 25% tariff on auto imports, forcing the White House to delay afternoon programming and scramble to formalize the decision. The White House didn't brief domestic or international industry stakeholders beforehand. One official reportedly brushed off concerns, saying if companies were 'smart,' they would have anticipated the move based on Trump's public comments.

Even asTrump insists that Americans and global partners will be 'pleasantly surprised' by what he now calls 'somewhat conservative' tariffs, markets are rattled by the inconsistency.

The president's declaration that April 2 would be 'Liberation Day' he has done little to clarify the specific policies.'I may give a lot of countries breaks,' Trump said. 'We might be even nicer than that.'Days earlier, he insisted 'every country will be hit with a tariff' leaving analysts and foreign governments scrambling to adapt at a moments notice.

'I think it would be a mistake to think next week all of a sudden we're going to get a bunch of clarity,' said Tom Graff, chief investment officer at Facet. 'I'm sure they're trying to reset with financial markets and build some certainty, but I don't think the president is going to have a personality transplant.' Even Trump's inner circle is trying to hedge. Bessent and economic adviser Kevin Hassett recently told industry leaders that only 10 to 15 countries - dubbed the 'dirty 15'- would face tariffs.

But Trump publicly overruled them and indicated a broader sweep of penalties would come in, reportedly infuriating some within his cabinet.Within the administration, a power struggle appears to be playing out between two camps: those advocating for a restrained, strategic approach to tariffs, and those fueling the president's instinct for economic confrontation.

On one side are figures such as Vance, Wiles, and Bessent, who have urged discipline and predictability. On the other side are Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and senior adviser Peter Navarro, the latter a long-time tariff evangelist.Navarro has described the administration as operating in harmony, quoting the 2002 film Drumline: 'One band, one sound.'

'We are the greatest economic team and April 2nd will be a historic day for American workers,' Lutnick said.

But others inside the administration are less certain of Lutnick's motivations. 'He goes into the Oval and tells the president whatever he wants to hear,' said oneTrump ally, calling Lutnick a 'f***ing nightmare' who backs Trump's instincts without considering broader consequences.

Lutnick’s influence appears to be growing, even as concerns mount that his approach is untethered from policy grounding.

As the April 2 deadline looms, inflation continues to rise, according to new Commerce Department data released on Friday - even before the new tariffs take effect. Consumer sentiment, measured by the University of Michigan, is falling rapidly.Business owners fear supply chains will be wrecked overnight, especially if tariffs target sensitive industries like pharmaceuticals, copper, and semiconductors.

Some Trump aides are holding out hope that upcoming trade reports due on April 1, mandated by a Day One executive order, could narrow the president's scope.Others quietly hope Trump's affection for the stock market might steer him away from a broader economic shock.(how can these people distrust Trump at this point. He already said there will be a little short term pain.)

'The president isn't looking at it like they are,' said a source close to the inner circle.'If the economy tanks, then fine, the economy tanks - because the president truly believes that it will rebound and the countries will give in.'

The same person added thatTrump sees little downside politically: 'No. 1, the president is not running for reelection. And No. 2, we're probably gonna lose the House in the midterms.'On Capitol Hill, Republican lawmakers are watching with alarm but concede they have no ability to influence Trump's direction.

'This is Trump, not anyone else,' said Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.). 'We don't have the ability to do anything other than complain,' added Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) was blunt in his warning: 'If tariffs did have an inflationary impact - or an impact on interest rates that caused inflation and the economy moved toward a recession - that would be a very bad thing… It would turn the Trump presidency from a four year term into a two year term, because we'd lose in the midterms.'

Publicly officials are repeating well-polished lines about revitalizing American industry and restoring greatness, but privately, they admit they are flying blind, held hostage to a volatile process led by a president determined to follow his gut.

In the past Trump has declared tariffs to be 'the most beautiful word in the dictionary.'

As one official said behind closed doors,'We're bracing for anything.'

Pentagon names biggest threat in ‘secret memo’ – WaPo

Preparing for a conflict over Taiwan should be prioritized over any other potential threats, a document signed by Peter Hegseth reportedly says

A newly issued internal Pentagon document setting priorities for the US armed forces reportedly calls for focusing on preparing for a potential conflict with China and leaving all other potential “threats,” such as Russia and Iran to America’s allies, the Washington Post has claimed.

The nine-page paper, dubbed the Interim National Defense Strategic Guidance, effectively narrowed down the US defense strategy in the Indo-Pacific region to a single scenario that would require the American military to prevent Beijing from establishing full control over Taiwan through military means, according to WaPo.

“China is the Department’s sole pacing threat, and denial of a Chinese fait accompli seizure of Taiwan — while simultaneously defending the U.S. homeland is the Department’s sole pacing scenario,” the “secret” document obtained by the media outlet said. According to WaPo, Beijing was named as the only potential enemy in a “major power war” that Washington needs to plan contingencies for.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has previously described China as the main defense priority for the US. Beijing also expressed its concerns about a shift in Washington’s approach to Taiwan after the US State Department dropped from its fact sheet a statement on not supporting the island’s independence. China considers the self-governing island an inalienable part of its territory and most of the world adheres to Beijing’s stance.

Apart from a potential conflict with China, the paper also tells the military to focus on the threats from the “near abroad” andbe “ready to defend American interests wherever they might be threatened in our hemisphere, from Greenland, to the Panama Canal, to Cape Horn.” The US Army should also shift its counterterrorism activities to fighting groups capable of striking the US directly and deprioritize those that are only active in far away regions, the WaPo reported.

Other potential “threats” supposedly posed by nations such as Russia, Iran, and North Korea should henceforth be dealt with by US allies, the document reportedly states. In particular, it says that Washington is unlikely to provide any substantial assistance to its allies in Europe in case of a confrontation with Russia.

The document calls for European NATO members to significantly increase their share of the collective defense burden that would supposedly “ensure NATO can reliably deter or defeat Russian aggression even if deterrence fails and the United States is already engaged in, or must withhold forces to deter, a primary conflict in another region.”

Moscow has repeatedly stated that it has no intention to attack the US-led bloc but warned that NATO’s active involvement in the ongoing Ukraine conflict poses a risk of a direct confrontation with Russia.

How does WAPO etc get these secret papers?A conservative speaker said, if it gets in the News, it was meant to. So they wanted to send a message we are not a threat to Russia, Iran and North Korea.

NYT report confirms Pentagon’s ‘open secret’ role in Ukrainian ops – expert

It has long been evident that the US military served as the “the eyes, ears, and brain” behind any significant actions by Kiev, Sergey Poletaev told RT

The recent New York Times investigation into America’s “hidden role” in the Ukraine conflict has confirmed thatthe Pentagon played a key role in most of Kiev’s significant military operations against Russia, information analyst Sergey Poletaev has told RT.

In a lengthy report published on Saturday, the US paper claimed that the administration of former US President Joe Biden provided Ukraine with support that went far beyond arms shipments. The cooperation involved intelligence sharing, strategic planning and daily coordination at a US military facility in Wiesbaden, Germany, where American and Ukrainian officers set targeting priorities, which they euphemistically called “points of interest” so as to avoid sounding overly provocative.

According to Poletaev, the report did not offer any groundbreaking revelations.

“It has long been clear that the Americans sought to fight Russia with the hands of Ukraine and that the main contribution they make is intelligence and supply of some kind of strike systems, for which they, in turn, provide intelligence,” he told RT on Sunday.

“It was no secret that the eyes and ears and brain behind any serious Ukrainian actions were the Pentagon. Here you go, all this has just been confirmed,” the analyst said.

The investigation, however, “is useful” since it “shows the train of thought of the American side.”At some point, Poletaev said, the US realized they couldn’t fully control Ukraine’s actions.

“They understood that the puppet they had on their hand was not entirely controllable. The puppet behaved as it saw fit,” he explained. The analyst emphasized that this dynamic is crucial for understanding the conflict’s progression and is indicative of situations “when the tail begins to wag the dog.”

Poletaev described theUkraine conflict as a classic proxy war, reminiscent of those during the Cold War era. In that respect, he noted that it’s interesting that theNYT described it as “a rematch” for US-Russia proxy wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Syria.

According to the analyst, the findings areunlikely to have any impact on the talks between Moscow and Washingtonon settling the conflict.

The NYT investigation was based on over 300 interviews with current and former policymakers, Pentagon officials, intelligence officers, and military personnel in Ukraine, the US, Britain, and other European countries. It details the cooperation between Washington and Kiev from the early days of the conflict through late 2024.

Trump teases new Putin call – NBC

After the previous phone conversation between the two leaders, Russia and Ukraine went on to separately agree to a partial ceasefire

US President Donald Trump has said he may have another phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days, NBC News reported on Sunday.

Trump and Putin last spoke over the telephone on March 18 and agreed to work toward a peaceful end to the Ukraine conflict. Following the call, Russia and Ukraine carried out a prisoner swap and agreed to a partial ceasefire, although Moscow claims that Kiev has repeatedly broken it since.

In an interview with NBC news on Sunday, Trump said the two presidents plan to speak again this week.

The US president also stated he will sanction Russia if he considers that it is to blame in the event a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict fails.

“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault –which it might not be- but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” he was quoted as saying.

He added that he was “very angry” and “pissed off” about Putin’s statements about the legitimacy of Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky. (Putin is very pissed about Trump being pissedKEK)

In a speech on Thursday, Putin said that because Zelensky has not held elections, both he and the officials he has appointed have no legitimacy. The Ukrainian leader’s presidential term expired last May.

Neo-Nazi units such as the notorious Azov are now effectively beginning to run Ukraine, empowered by continued Western military support, he emphasized.

The repeated Ukrainian ceasefire violations show that officials in Kiev no longer have control over the country’s military, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

Putin and Trump had their first call on February 12 in what was the first time that the leaders of Russia and the US had spoken in years. This was followed by two rounds of high-level talks between Russian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia. Additional discussions have also been held in Istanbul, focusing on diplomatic funding and a proposal from Moscow to reinstate direct flights between the two countries.

Peskov said on Thursday thatthe next conversation between Trump and Putin had not yet been planned.

Iran rejects direct talks with US in response to Trump’s letter

Washington’s actions in the past have undermined trust between the two nations, President Masoud Pezeshkian has said

Tehran has ruled out direct talks with Washington in response to President Donald Trump’s recent letter suggesting negotiations about Iran’s nuclear program. US actions have undermined trust between the two nations and it needs to be restored first, President Masoud Pezeshkian has said.

“The issue of direct negotiations between the two sides has been rejected. But it has been mentioned that the path of indirect negotiations is open,” the Iranian president told a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

The US president revealed in early March that he had sent a letter to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, suggesting that talks be reopened. The US unilaterally withdrew from the previous international agreement on the Iranian nuclear program during Trump’s first term in office in 2018.

Washington subsequently re-imposed sanctions against Tehran, prompting the Islamic Republic to gradually scale down its commitments under the 2015 deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“Iran has never avoided negotiations, [but the US] incompliance has created problems in this path, which should be compensated for, and trust should be rebuilt. It is behavior of the Americans that determines the course of negotiations,” Pezeshkian stated. According to the president, the response was handed over to the US through Oman and had already been received by Washington.

On Sunday, Trump threatened Iran with “bombing” if a deal is not reached. “It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before,” he told NBC, adding that Washington could also impose “secondary tariffs” on Iran if diplomatic efforts fail.

Multiple American news media outlets, including CNN and Axios, have previously reported that Trump set a two-month deadline for Iran to strike a new deal.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio also warned last week that the US administration was ready totake military action against Iran if diplomatic efforts to renew dialogue do not succeed. The statement prompted the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, Alireza Tangsiri, to say that Tehran is not afraid of any threats and is capable of retaliating against any enemy.

(Iran is playing hardball like they intimidated and conned Obama, that won’t work. I kind of think all of this is cosplaying for the media maybe.)

Biden brought Ukraine conflict close to ‘nuclear war’ – analyst

A recent New York Times report shows the US was dangerously close to a direct conflict with Russia, Dmitry Suslov has told RT

The administration of former President Joe Biden pushed the US dangerously close to a direct military conflict – and even nuclear war – with Russia through its deep involvement in Ukraine’s military operations, Valdai Club expert Dmitry Suslov has told RT.

In an interview on Sunday, Suslov commented on a recent investigation by the New York Times that claimed the US had provided Ukraine with even more support than earlier thought – which went beyond arms shipments and extended to daily battlefield coordination, intelligence sharing, and joint strategy planning. The report claimed that the nerve center of this cooperation was located in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The findings came as no surprise to Moscow, he noted.

“The investigation, of course, does not change the Russian perception of the war, because we have always known that the war in Ukraine was, in essence, a proxy war of the United States against Russia,” Suslov, the deputy director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, said.

”The investigation shows that theBiden administration truly walked the line of direct military confrontation with Russia,” he continued.

“It balanced, essentially, on the brink of nuclear war. That’s how deep and direct its involvement was.”

According to Suslov, the report clearly shows thatWashington wants to take credit for Ukraine’s battlefield successes while distancing itself from the setbacks. He also argued that the investigation was released now because the Biden administration has left office and the conflict is nearing the end.

“Now it is possible to talk openly about what it [the US] actually did during Biden’s presidency,”he said. “The war is relatively close to its conclusion. The Trump administration is trying to end it, and so this is, if you will, a form of mistakes review.”

The report highlights the contrast between the approaches of Biden and President Donald Trump, he noted: “If the Biden administration was effectively managing the Ukrainian armed forces directly…the Trump administration positions itself as a neutral mediator seeking to end the war.”

Suslovdescribed the article as a kind of political assist to Trump, giving him an opportunity to claim he is saving the world from nuclear war.

Anyfuture peace settlement must involve firm guarantees that Ukraine will cut off all military ties with the Western powers, Suslov went on to say. “No intelligence cooperation, no military cooperation, nothing like what was described in this investigation… nothing like the secret center in Wiesbaden,” he added.

“If Ukraine is caught violating this obligation, then severe sanctions must be imposed, along with appropriate punitive measures for breaking the peace agreement.”

Goldberg Says Mike Waltz Claims About Never Knowing him or Speaking to Him are “simply not true”

March 30, 2025 | Sundance |

Jeffrey Goldberg appearing on Meet the Press, says he has met and spoken to Mike Waltz and that Waltz’s ongoing denials to that end are “simply not true.”Goldberg notes his phone number was in Waltz’s phone simply because his phone number was in Waltz’s phone.

(Trump Admin should check to see who else is in Walz’s phone, and who else he talks to.)

According to Jeffrey Goldberg, despite Waltz’s numerous denials, the National Security Advisor and journalist do know each other. WATCH: https://youtu.be/RpyTrv1XI7U

(Goldberg might be doing a favor to Trump and Admin, when he thinks it may embarrass them. Easier to get rid of Waltz if proven true. Look how mad Goldberg looks in the video!)

I just realized why Trump has to have a third term, these car plants won’t be finished until 3 years from now if someone else gets in they could cancel them, especially a democrat, so Trump has to work four more years. And like that article here this afternoon, Trump says there’s a couple of ways for elected for a 3rd term. He wouldn’t have finished releasing the Golden Age unless all his projects of growth are done, and that will take another term as President! Yeah
