Diplomat explains Putin’s proposal for temporary Ukraine administration

The Russian president has suggested that UN-backed external governance in Kiev could provide a legitimate foundation for peace negotiations

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to establish atemporary international administration in Ukraine under UN supervision is based on historical precedents, according to Kirill Logvinov, who heads the Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations. He told TASS on Sunday thatthe UN already has experience with this process.

Moscow has repeatedly stated thatit is not possible to sign a peace agreement with Kievbecause the currentUkrainian leadership lacks legitimacy. Vladimir Zelensky’s presidential term expired in May 2024, though he has remained in office without holding elections, citing martial law.

Putin suggested earlier this week that creating “external management or temporary administration” under theUN could facilitate elections in Ukraine and provide a legitimate foundation for negotiations. A peace deal signed with a newly elected leader, he said, “would be recognized around the world” and could not be overturned later.

“There is no formal mechanism for creating such administrations in the UN,” Logvinov acknowledged. However, he noted that the UN has established transitional authorities in several post-conflict areas, including Cambodia, East Timor, and Eastern Slavonia, setting a precedent for this type of arrangement.

“In all cases, the first step was reaching an agreement between the parties to the conflict – directly or through intermediaries – on the appropriate transfer of powers to the UN,”he explained. Once an agreement is reached, the parties or their mediators would then submit a formal appeal to the UN. The Security Council would instruct the secretary-general to prepare a framework for the temporary administration, including a timeline and budget.

Logvinov stressed that the final decision rests with the UN Security Council following a report by the secretary-general outlining the form and functions of the proposed administration.

Officials in Kiev have rejected the idea. Andrey Kovalenko, the head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, claimed on Telegram that the plan is an attempt by Moscow to delay peace talks.

Washington has not formally commented on the proposal. However, Reuters quoted an unnamedWhite House national security spokesperson who said Ukraine’s governance should be determined by its constitution and people.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres dismissed the proposal on Friday, insisting that “Ukraine has a legitimate government, and so obviously that must be respected.”

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, currently the deputy chair of the Russian Security Council, criticized Guterres’ remarks, calling them a “double lie.” Referring to Zelensky in a post on X, he said:“The nit is illegitimate. There’s nothing to respect him for. He failed, his people are dying, and his country is disappearing.”

Facilitated by Eisenhower, who had both Allen Dulles and his brother, John Foster Dulles in his administration.

At least Truman denounced in the Washington Post after the regime change (assassination) in a letter to the extent that Allen Dulles tried to get him to change it. Baltic states fear Ukraine ceasefire – FT

Estonia and Lithuania are concerned Moscow could redeploy its forces to their borders if the fighting stops, the outlet has said

The Baltic nations believe a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict would increase the security threat they face, the Financial Times has reported, citing the defense ministers of the countries. (Bullshit they are the hardline haters of Russia)

In recent weeks, a 30-day pause on strikes against energy infrastructure by Moscow and Kiev has been agreed upon, while there have been moves toward reviving the Black Sea grain deal as part of efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

The FT said in an article on Sunday that “a full ceasefire is still seen as far off,” but officials in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania,who have been among the most vocal backers of Ukrainein the EU and NATO since the escalation between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022, are already concerned that it might be achieved at some point. (So they want to sacrifice Ukraine and not them)

“We all understand that when the war in Ukraine will be stopped, Russia will redistribute its forces very quickly. That means also the threat level will increase significantly very quickly,” Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur told the outlet.

Pevkur claimed that Moscow could redeploy 300,000 troops from the contact line with Ukraine to Russia’s western borders once a ceasefire takes effect.

Meanwhile, the Estonian defense minister rejected a plan by the UK and France to send a so-called “reassurance force” made up of Western European soldiers to Ukraine after the fighting stops.

“We cannot jeopardize the security of the eastern flank of NATO. We cannot fall into the trap that our forces are somehow fixed in Ukraine. Then we will have risks at our border,”he explained.

The article also cited Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Sakaliene, who said earlier this week that “Russia will use this time following a ceasefire to speed up its military capabilities. They already have a huge, battlefield-trained army, which is going to get even bigger.”

“Let us not have any illusions. Let us not lie to ourselves that Russia is going to be done after Ukraine,” she said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly dismissed claims that Moscow has any aggressive plans towards NATOas “nonsense”that is meant to scare the European population and justify increases in military spending.

US President Donald Trump’s special envoy,Steve Witkoff, who met with Putin at the Kremlin earlier this month, told American journalist Tucker Carlson last week thatRussia is “100% not” interested in invading NATO countries. Suggesting that Moscow harbors such plans is “preposterous,” according to Witkoff.

Ex-Italian PM reveals ‘secret mission’ for Zelensky

The Ukrainian leader reportedly asked Massimo D’Alema to seek help from China and Brazil to prevent Kiev’s collapse

Former Italian Prime Minister Massimo D’Alema has claimed that he undertook a secret diplomatic mission to Brazil and Chinaon behalf of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to garner international support, amid fears that Kiev would be abandoned by its Western backers.

The revelation was made during a conversation with Italian politician Gianfranco Fini published by La Repubblica on Thursday. According to D’Alema,Zelensky approached him sometime in 2024, expressing fears of a potential catastrophe as Western support waned.

“I happened to speak with Zelensky on the sidelines of an initiative on the Balkans. And he told me clearly that his country was at risk of disasterbecause ‘the Americans will withdraw sooner or later, and the Europeans are not reliable,’”the former prime minister told Fini.

“He asked me to go to Brazil and Beijing to find out if Lula and Xi Jinping could do something,”D’Alema claimed. Neither Brazil nor China has publicly confirmed any visits by the former Italian official.

In Brasilia, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reportedly dismissed the initiative outright, insisting that Ukraine is an “American problem.”

“I went there, but Lula almost showed me the door, telling me that Ukraine was a problem for the Americansand that, according to him, I should be interested in Palestine instead,”D’Alema said.

In China, D’Alema reportedly met with one of the Communist Party’s top foreign policy officials, and discussed the idea of an international peacekeeping force for Ukraine. At the end of the meeting, the Chinese official is said to have remarked:“You know, you are the first European who came to talk to us about this. The others are just asking us not to support Russia.”

The former prime minister also criticized the EU for fueling what he described as unrealistic expectations about the conflict.“Europe has done nothing but repeat that Russia could be defeated, when it was clear to everyone that the war could not be won by anyone,” he said.

Conference in EU state demands end to Russia sanctions

Slovak politicians and economists argue that the measures “have never worked” and backfired on the countries that imposed them

Slovakia hosted a conference on Saturday calling for the removal of EU sanctions against Russia, with politicians and economists warning that the measures have backfired on the countries that imposed them – including Slovakia.

The event – For Slovakia Without Sanctions – was held in Bratislava and promoted a petition for a referendum aimed atpersuading the Slovak government to push for the removal of the sanctions at the EU level.

The petition, initiated by the left-wing Party of Slovak Revival and the right-wing Homeland Party late last year, has so far gained more than300,000 signatures, the organizers said.

Pavol Slota, the leader of the Homeland Party and one of the authors of the petition, argued thatSlovakia’s future depends on ending the sanctions.

“It is about our whole nation, all Slovak citizens, about us fighting for our own future. We must do everything so that our message reaches every single Slovak citizen,” he said.

“If we leave everything as it is, it may happen so that we may not get a second chance… I have to ask you, do you respect weak people who adapt, who somehow just go along with the crowd? Or do you respect the strong people who respect themselves?” Slota said, urging people to support the campaign in defense of “our values, our traditions, our families, our nation.”

Economist and professor Peter Stanek told attendees that research, including from Western sources, has shown that the sanctions are ineffective.

“There are dozens of studies thatclearly show that sanctions have never worked,”Stanek said. “They always affected those who imposed them…They drove the energy sector crazy.”

He added that European energy prices have been growing since 2021,warning that new US tariffson EU exports and Brussels’ own costly militarization and climate programs will further amplify the economic fallout.

“Those sanctions begin to take on a completely different dimension[due] to the cretinismreigning in Brussels and the European Commission,” he said. “I can’t call it anything else, because they’ve probably run out of common sense.” KEK

Former Slovak Justice Minister Stefan Harabin also addressed the conference, accusing the EU of “provoking the Russians” with sanctions and escalating the conflict by arming Kiev.

Under Slovakia’s constitution, the president can call a referendum if a petition gathers 350,000 valid signatures. The organizers pledged to continue collecting signatures. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, a critic of EU policy on Ukraine, has called the sanctions counterproductive. He urged Brussels to re-engage with Moscow and warned that the bloc’s confrontational approach is hurting its own member states.

US air base on Okinawa sounds ‘space debris’ alarm

Kadena Air Base briefly ordered all its residents to shelter-in-place early Sunday morning due to unspecified space debris, according to the 18th Wing.

The overnight notification declared “Alarm Red” for all personnel, the wing said on its official Facebook page at 8:17 a.m. Sunday. The siren and voice alert system on the base also sounded.

The notice went out via email at 1:21 a.m., according to a screenshot of the notices posted by the Air Force amn/nco/snco Facebook group.

An “Alarm Green” notice declaring all-clear was sent via email about 10 minutes later, according to a Facebook post on the Kadena Spouses Group.

The wing’s Facebook post said “space debris that was identified in the area” prompted the alarm but provided no further information about the debris.

“The base’s safety protocols were activated and after careful monitoring, the situation was cleared within minutes,” the post stated. “We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this brief event.”

The wing did not respond to emails and phone calls on Sunday seeking comment.

NYT reveals ‘secret history’ of US meddling in Ukraine conflict

Washington became a “part of the kill chain” by providing invaluable intelligence and strategic support, one official told the paper

Theadministration of US President Joe Biden was far more deeply involved in backing Ukraine’s fightagainst Russia than previously acknowledged, a New York Times investigation has claimed, stressing that Washington’s intelligence was indispensable for Kiev's military operations.

The lengthy report released on Saturday offers a deep dive into an “extraordinary partnership of intelligence, strategy, planning and technology”that became Kiev’s “secret weapon” in countering Russia.

While the Pentagon supplied Ukraine with tens of billions of dollars in military aid, it also provided crucial intelligence that enabled Kiev to attack Russian command and control centers and other high-value targets starting in mid-2022, the NYT said.

According to the article, theheart of this partnership lay at the US Army facility in Wiesbaden, Germany, where American and Ukrainian officers set daily targeting priorities which they reportedly referred to as “points of interest,” for fear of appearing too provocative.

American and Ukrainian officers planned major counteroffensives together and launched large long-range high-precision strikes, using Western-supplied weapons on Russia’s Crimea, the NYT also claimed. The strikes using Western-supplied missiles have led to civilian casualties, with one ATACMS attack on a Sevastopol beach in June 2024 killing four and injuring more than 150.

The US has also dispatched dozens of military advisers to Ukraine, some of whom were allowed to travel close to the frontline.

In 2024, the US extended its permissions to allow Ukraine carry out limited long-range strikes using American-supplied weapons into internationally recognized Russian territory – for years considered a “red line.” Washington provided Kiev with the targeting data for the strikes.

OneEuropean intelligence official was shockedby the level of US involvement in the conflict, telling the Times, “they are part of the kill chain now.”

The cooperation, however, was at times tenuous due to disagreements over strategy and objectives, especially in the run-up to Ukraine’s botched counteroffensive in the southern sector of the front in the summer of 2023.

American officials reportedly viewed theUkrainians as too ambitious and dismissive of strategic advice. The Ukrainians accused the Americans of being overly cautious. During the 2023 counteroffensive, the Ukrainian leadership was split between competing objectives – pursuing an assault toward Melitopol, and defending Artemovsk (Bakhmut).This reportedly undermined the unified strategy developed in Wiesbaden.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Ukraine “cannot exist” without outside support. Moscow has repeatedly denounced Western involvement in the conflict, saying it would only prolong the hostilities without changing their outcome.

However, the administration of US President Donald Trump has engaged with Russia with the aim of ending the conflict, an engagement that Moscow has described as productive.

AT the icy edge of the Arctic, a Cold War-era military outpost has once again been thrust into the spotlight — this time by Donald Trump’s right-hand man.

As part of his controversial visit, Vice President JD Vance touched down at the Pittufik Space Base in northwestern Greenland on Friday, one of the most remote and secretive US military installations on Earth.

Nicknamed "top of the world", Pituffik isn’t just a harsh posting — it’s a frontline outpost of US missile defence and space surveillance.

It is locked in by sea ice for nine months a year and is plunged into total darkness from November to February, only accessible by plane.

The nearest town, Qaanaaq, lies 75 miles to the northwest. There are no roads, no nightclubs, and for three months a year, no sun.

Yet this frozen fortress continues to serve as America’s Arctic eyes and ears — a throwback to the Cold War that’s once again become a key player in a new era of great power rivalry.

Strategically perched just 947 miles south of the North Pole and 750 miles above the Arctic Circle, the isolated base plays a vital role in detecting ballistic missiles and tracking debris from decommissioned satellites.

It also boasts the northernmost deep-water port in the world.

Formerly known as Thule Air Base, Pituffik was renamed in 2023 to honour Greenlandic cultural heritage and reflect its new status as a key site for the US Space Force.

It is operated by the 821st Space Base Group and remains one of America's most vital but least-known defence assets.

The base's location - roughly 1,500km (932 miles) from Greenland's capital, Nuuk - is no coincidence.

Built after a 1951 defence treaty with Denmark, it was designed as a Cold War-era Arctic shield.

The US has maintained a military presence here since World War Two, when Nazi-occupied Denmark left Greenland vulnerable and the Americans stepped in to build airfields, monitor weather, and hunt German U-boats.

Today, around 150 US Air Force and Space Force personnel are stationed at Pituffik, alongside Danish and Greenlandic staff — and the occasional polar bear.

Despite its extreme remoteness, the airfield remains operational year-round, serving as a crucial northern hub for the Pentagon and NATO.

“Why does Greenland matter?” Vice President JD Vance asked during a visit to the base on Friday.

“If a missile was fired by the enemy, it is the people here who will know about it first and will give us notice and tell us what is coming.”

Danish defence analyst Peter Ernstved Rasmussen told The New York Times how the post is "the outermost eye of American defence".

He described it as "irreplaceable" as it is "where the US can detect a launch, calculate the trajectory and activate its missile defence systems."

Vance's controversial visit to Pituffik — part of a wider Trump-era push to assert US dominance in the Arctic — sparked political fallout in both Greenland and Denmark, as locals voiced fears of increased pressure from Washington.

Vance warned: “We know Russia and China and other nations are taking an interest in the region. We’ve seen very strong evidence.”

"So, we need to ensure that America is leading. "What Denmark has failed to do is to secure the region as it was 30 or 40 years ago.

It has failed to keep our troops and its own people safe. "Our European allies have not kept up with the pace in military spending."

Trump has sparked outrage after repeatedly claiming he wants to take control of Greenland, calling it "very important for the peace of the world".

"We have to have Greenland. It's not a question of 'do you think we can do without it' We can't," the President added.

He previously said he would "go as far as we have to go" to get control.

His repeated comments and refusal to deny plans to take it by force have seen its residents and politicians slam the administration and protest with signs saying their land is not for sale.

The trip originally planned by Second Lady Usha Vance which was touted as "a bit of fun" quickly became more clearly politically motivated when the Vice President joined and met with military officials.

The Americans were not invited by authorities in either Greenland or Denmark, and the Vice President's attendance was announced on Tuesday, a day after Usha revealed she would be visiting the island.

Vance said: "There was so much excitement around Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday that I decided that I didn’t want her to have all that fun by herself, and so I’m gonna join her."

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the initial plans for the US visit "unacceptable".

Tensions ramped up since and continue to do so as long as they are there.

The VP and Second Lady Usha descended the steps from Air Force 2 wearing large camo-green jackets, waving to the cameras and those welcoming them.

Usha, who was due to attend Greenland's Great Race of the North featuring 37 dog sled drivers, will no longer be going after protests at the couple's arrival.

Race organisers have even publicly stated that the pair were not invited, despite claims by the Second Lady that she had been.

Meanwhile, the country's new Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen has said the US is failing to show them the respect of an ally.

"The whole situation of coming to visit when there is no government in place, we insist, is not showing respect for an ally," the Danish broadcaster DR reported the PM saying.

"It's a shame, but now we have a government that needs to put on its work clothes".

In a show of unity against Trump, four of Greenland's five parties signed a coalition agreement ahead of the arrival of the Vances stating on page one: "Greenland belongs to us".

Under the terms of a 1951 agreement, the US is entitled to visit its Pituffik base whenever it wants, as long as it notifies Greenland and Copenhagen.

China launches classified TJS-16 spacecraft, companion object emerges alongside earlier TJS-15 satellite

China launched the new TJS-16 classified satellite on Saturday aboard a Long March 7A rocket, continuing the opaque series of experimental missions.

A Long March 7A rocket lifted off at 12:05 p.m. Eastern (1605 UTC) March 29 from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on the island province of Hainan.

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced launch success around an hour after liftoff, revealing the payload to be the communication technology experiment satellite-16, or Tongxin Jishu Shiyan-16 (TJS-16).

CASC described the TJS-16 satellite as mainly used to verify multi-band and high-speed satellite communication technology. It published neither images nor technical details of the satellite, following the pattern for all previous TJS launches.

The satellite was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), a major arm of CASC. SAST reiterated the terse description of TJS-16 and included a mission patch with its statement.

The TJS series mainly operates in geostationary orbit (GEO). It is seen by Western analysts as potentially carrying out classified missions including signals intelligence, early warning missions and satellite inspection activities to support the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

China now has 15 main TJS satellites in orbit, with no apparent TJS-8 satellite.

TJS-15’s mysterious companion object

The launch of TJS-16 follows the March 9 launch of TJS-15 from Xichang, southwest China, on a Long March 3B rocket, a mission given a similar, brief description in terms of its purposes.

TJS-15 has since reached the geostationary belt. U.S. Space Force space domain awareness has also cataloged an AKM, or apogee kick motor, associated with the launch, a motor typically used for the final impulse needed to insert a satellite into GEO orbit.

That object now appears to be in an orbit a few hundred kilometres above the GEO belt, as is typical for a spent AKM.

Orbital data suggests, however, that the AKM has made a series of small changes to its orbit, suggesting low-thrust propulsion capabilities. The mission could echo an earlier TJS mission.

The TJS-3 mission, launched in 2018, also had an apparent AKM. However, that object carried out subsequent maneuvers, often synchronized with the main satellite, showing behavior inconsistent with an AKM, which often performs one of few major burns.

The mission had intelligence implications and stirred significant analyst interest.

Long March 7A

Saturday’s launch was the ninth flight of the Long March 7A. The 7A variant is a three-stage version of the standard Long March 7 used to launch cargo missions to the Tiangong space station in low Earth orbit.

The 7A is a 60.1-meter-long, 3.35-meter-diameter kerosene and liquid oxygen launch vehicle with four side boosters. Its first stage and boosters are powered by YF-100 engines.

The launcher is capable of delivering up to 7 metric tons of payload to GTO. It features a fairing diameter of 4.2 meters.

The first launch, in 2020, ended in failure. The launcher has been seen as a long-term replacement to the workhorse, hypergolic Long March 3B for launches to GEO.

However, the rocket has yet to launch more than twice in a calendar year. The TJS-16 mission was China’s 16th orbital launch of 2025.

It follows the launch of the Tianlian-2 (04) data relay satellite March 26.China could be targeting 100 or more launches in 2025, driven by growing commercial activity, megaconstellation projects, and new launcher development.

A number of new, medium-lift and potentially reusable rockets are targeting debut flights this year.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is making plans to seek reelection and restore elections in his country, as his ratings climbed after his contentious White House meeting with President Donald Trump, according to a new report.

The Economist, quoting Ukrainian government sources, reported Sunday that Zelenskyy called a meeting last week to discuss organizing a vote after a full ceasefire, expected by the American side in late April, is reached with Russia.

This means the Ukrainians could confirm an election before or by May 5, the deadline for a parliamentary vote on whether to extend martial law in the nation, which will expire on May 8.

After that, sources in the country say Zelenskyy is aiming for an election in the summer. Under Ukrainian law, at least 60 days are required for campaigning, putting the earliest election date in early July.

Other sources, though, say the campaign will have to go on for at least three months, the time election authorities have told the Ukrainian Parliament that is required to reconstitute voter lists at a time of war.

Opposition party leader Petro Poroshenko, a sworn foe of Zelenskyy's, said the elections could be held "any time from August to October," and says the campaigning actually started in February, when the Ukrainian president placed him under sanctions.

The move was linked to Poroshenko's ongoing trial for charges of treason, but some are saying that his trip to the United States to meet with Trump administration officials triggered the sanctions.

Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, have pushed Zelenskyy to hold elections even without a ceasefire, believing that the Ukrainians would unseat him.

Meanwhile, a quick election, which would benefit Zelenskyy, would be impossible to pull off, according to opposition leaders, because reaching a ceasefire before May 8 could be difficult.

Also, Serhiy Vlasenko, a senior lawmaker with the Batkivshchyna Party, commented that it would be difficult to find a way for millions of voters to cast ballots, considering they are likely to be abroad or fighting against Russia.

The opposition parties are also set against voting during wartime, as a fair election would need to be free of wartime censorship and propaganda.

The PM also visited the product gallery wherein Solar Defence showcased its products like Pinaka Rocket System, air-bombs, mines, grenade, military explosives, Anti tank Guided Missile (ATGM), Nagastra 1 & 2 Loiter Munitions, and many more.

The PM also inaugurated the newly constructed air strip which is a 1.27 km runway facility built for development & testing of MALE/HALE Class Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Solar Defence said it has taken a big initiative for developing a MALE UAV and a suo-moto proposal has already been submitted to IAF which is under consideration.

The Prime Minister also witnessed the display of the state of art indigenously developed systems viz. Loiter Munition (Nagastra 3), Bhargavastra (Micro-Missile based Counter Drone System) and Bhaumastra (Mine Detection & Disposal System).

Keeping in view the futuristic requirements of this emerging technology, Solar Defence said it has taken the initiative to develop Nagastra series of Loiter Munitions of ranges from 15 km to more than 100 km and explosive payload carrying capability from 1 kg to 10 kg.

Nagastra 3 is a Vehicle Launched Loiter Munition System of endurance 3 hours and range of 100 km. It can carry 8.5 kg warhead. It is being developed under Make 2 project from Arty of Indian Army.

The Bhargavastra is an indigenously designed and developed Counter Drone System meant for quick interception of drones for an assured hard kill using tiny, guided missiles with swarm engagement capability.

This solution offers mobile protection against drone attacks with near simultaneous engagement of multiple drones.

With a long range of detection (upto 6 km) and a long range of neutralization (upto 2.5 km), it ensures the safety of vulnerable assets/battlefield formations.

SDAL has taken an initiative to address the global menace of landmine detection and disposal.

As per some estimates, there are more than 11 million buried mines worldwide that remain uncleared and are causing casualties or maiming of both soldiers and civilians in peacetime.

Bhaumastra, a drone-based system under development by SDAL, would be the first of its kind in any developed nation to provide a drone-based solution to this global problem.

According to Zelenskyy, the deal to share in oil, gas and mineral revenue would amount to debt that would disqualify them from EU membership due to unstable financials.

However, it is important for U.S. readers to remember the U.S. aid package already underway pays for the entire operation of the Ukraine federal spending liabilities, including pensions, government worker paychecks and everything normally within a govt budget.U.S. taxpayers are not only subsidizing the war with munitions, but we are also subsidizing the government operation and citizens of Ukraine. Western Ukrainians are influenced more by the propaganda from the European Union, Brussels, France and the U.K, than they are from NATO military.

The support for war amid the EU member statesis directly proportional to the severity of their leftist, socialist and WEF tendencies. The more anti-nationalist the nation state is, the more likely they support the Ukraine war.

As this larger dynamic continues,one can imaginePresidentTrump frustratingly accepting the need for Vladimir Putin to go even harderagainst Ukraine.
