Like they're ready to instruct me, but never comprehending any of my words–like they skip right over them every time I talk. This isn't a singular circumstance, it's this "type" almost.

Many moons ago during car rides, we weren’t allowed to say we were bored.

We had no phones or iPads.

The radio was always on AM talk radio.

We could only read during the day time. We weren’t allowed to turn on any light in the car at night, because we were 100% sure it was illegal, and we would be pulled over and arrested.
