Election Night Analysis

The whole thing started with Tesla takedown.

Let's examine the facts surrounding the recent election events in a clear and objective manner:

1- Brad Schimel's campaign struggled significantly until the final moments, receiving limited attention and support. The Republican National Committee (RNC) and several prominent Republican figures did not prioritize or effectively promote the campaign, resulting in minimal publicity.

2- Only a handful of influential MAGA-aligned accounts, such as @ScottPresler and @DataRepublican actively engaged in supporting this campaign. Many others focused primarily on sharing memes and casual posts to boost their own visibility, opting not to invest effort or resources into the campaign.

3- In the Florida races, Democratic candidates outspent their Republican counterparts by a ratio of 10 to 1, yet they still suffered double-digit losses.

4- The Wisconsin Supreme Court maintained its existing 4-3 Democratic-leaning majority. While Republicans did not lose a seat, they were unable to secure an additional one to shift the balance.

5- The passage of Voter ID legislation represents a positive development for election integrity.

6- From a strategic perspective, Democrats likely prioritized gaining two seats in Florida over securing the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat due to the fact they pumped in so much money that they out spent the republican 10 to 1.

The appellate judges conclude the trial judge erred by not allowing the jury to see more than 200 statements made by informants to their FBI handlers under hearsay protections–but the appellate court concluded out of their ass that didn't matter in terms of the verdict.

(Keep in mind, half the men accused in the plot6 under federal charges and 8 under state chargeswho went to trial were found not guilty. Six took plea deals; Croft and Fox were convicted in August 2022 in a repeat trial.)

The statements the jury was not allowed to see demonstrate the FBI's deep involvement in concocting not only the Whitmer plot but a separate one against VA governor Ralph Northam (by using same handlers and informant, Dan Chappell), organizing almost all of the events including the "recon" trip to Whitmer's vacation cottage, and even disclosing exculpatory evidence.

Speaker Mike Johnson @SpeakerJohnson - As the father of a large family, I know firsthand the difficulty and countless sacrifices that come with balancing family life and service in Congress. New mothers and all young parents face real challenges in this regard. We truly empathize with them.

That said, all of us have a responsibility to defend and uphold the Constitution and the integrity of this institution, which has stood the test of time for more than two centuries. While I understand the pure motivations of the few Republican proxy vote advocates, I simply cannot support the change they seek.

The procedural vote yesterday was our effort to advance President Trump’s important legislative agenda while disabling a discharge petition that would force proxy voting and open a dangerous Pandora’s box for the institution. To allow proxy voting for one category of Members would open the door for many others, and ultimately result in remote voting that would harm the operation of our deliberative body and diminish the critical role of the legislative branch.

While 96 percent of Republicans voted in our favor, when the procedural vote failed, it was Democrats who stood up and cheered. President Trump’s agenda is now stalled for the week because, beyond the SAVE Act, nothing else can proceed for a vote without passing a new rule first, and many Republicans refuse to do so until we stop the proxy initiative.

Nancy Pelosi experimented with proxy voting during the 117th Congress, and it was quickly abused. Republicans put an end to it then, and we cannot allow it again.

Proxy voting aside, I am actively working on every possible accommodation to make Congressional service simpler for young mothers. As the pro-family party, our aim as Republicans is to support those principles while also defending our constitutional traditions.

Cease-Fire Resolution

The United Nations Security Council met to discuss S. 22430, a resolution concerning the cease-fire in the Persian Gulf war. Amendments to the resolution under debate included Iraqi war reparations, forcing Iraq to destroy its unconventional weapons, and a U.N. security force to be placed on the border of Iraq and Kuwait. Representatives from Iraq and Kuwait were invited to participate in the discussions concerning the cease-fire in the Persian Gulf War but were not allowed to vote on the resolution. The resolution was passed by the Security Council in a vote of 12 to 1 and awaited Iraq's approval to become effective.
