Michelle and I send our congratulations to a fellow Chicagoan, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. This is a historic day for the United States, and we will pray for him as he begins the sacred work of leading the Catholic Church and setting an example for so many, regardless of faith.

Pope Leo XIII wrote the St. Michael the Archangel prayer in the 1880s, asking this angel to protect us in spiritual battle against the forces of evil. Cardinal Robert Prevost was named our new Pope today, May 8, taking on the name Pope Leo. May 8 is also the feast day of the Apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel, victorious in battle. It seems the Holy Spirit is moving in POWERFUL ways to protect the world against the forces of evil, sin, and darkness 👀🇻🇦🕊️
