House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries say congressional Republicans are "signing their own death warrants" in the 2026 midterms with their support of President Trump's budget priorities. "They should be doing what's in the best interests of the American people, not trying to visit upon everyday Americans the largest cut to health care in American history, devastating cuts to Medicaid, and at the same time undermining the Affordable Care Act. You all didn't learn your lesson. How did that work out for you in 2017 and 2018?" Jeffries says referencing the tax cuts passed in the first Trump administration.

Senator McConnell Warns Against American Isolationism, Defends Support of Ukraine

During an appearance at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, former GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell warns against the U.S. embracing isolationism and engaging in trade wars and repeating the mistakes of the 1930s. "I don't think we need to relearn that lesson," he says. McConnell says the U.S. must impress upon China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. that "we are too tough too mess with.
