NEW — Washington state Gov. Bob Ferguson signed a bill into law that allows state officials to enter federally contacted ICE detention centers without permission to conduct oversight.
State officials are now allowed to arrive unannounced and must be given access to all ICE detention facilities in the state — on any given day.
The new law took effect on Monday.
