falls Ihr Interesse an mehr Clown Info habt, hier meine Info Mails an die CIA von vor vier Monaten. Auch Infos über Geheimdienstliches Coden, dürft ihr aber bestimmt eh nicht behalten, bestimmt einfach zu geheim für "Clowns".

 

Und, der eine Nachbar hier, derjenige der lustigerweise Nixmach heißt, wendet der eventuell geheimes BND Asset Wissen an, wenn er so wie im Film mal mehr und mal weniger gespannt mit seinem Hund raus geht, und den Namen seines Hundes dann so ruft, als wenn er sich mental daran abstützt? Das wäre ja fast so, als wenn man sich in Erinnerung rufen würde, wie souverän man letzten Dienstag gewirkt hat, oder eben als wenn man jemanden mit Hund oder Müllwagen aus dem Weg befördert.

 

Müllwagenfahren kann aber sicherlich auch eine würdevolle und wertschätzende Tätigkeit sein, die man einfach mal einen Moment genießen kann. Bestimmt gibt es echte Profis, die Psychologie fertig studiert haben und die sowas unterscheiden können.

 

Kann man Agenten mit etwas zu roten Nasen wirklich zur Redseligkeit sedieren lassen? Durch Wunsch?

Ist es so, dass BND Leute nur im Ausland eingesetzt werden können so wie verfassungsmäßig geregelt oder nimmt der BND doch gerne den BND weil orga mäßig besser als das BV?

 

Sind Karrierechancen sofort verwehrt, wenn man bereits im Urlaub war?

 

Ist es wirklich so, dass BND Fahrer Müllwagen fahren, weil das noch effektiver ist, als jemanden mit dem Hund oder AUto an die Seite zu verweisen?

 

Ist die Dame die die Ausbildung betreibt wirklich gleichzeitig links und rechts, so wir der look es zu erkennen gibt?

 

Nutzt der BND so wie die CIA Leute die extra mit einem rollenden R agitieren?

 

Ist Olaf Scholz ein BND Asset?

“Community and environmental considerations at Vandenberg remain consistent regardless of who is providing launch services from a U.S. Space Force installation,” Shoemaker said.

“As stewards of this base, we are working with our regulatory partners to evaluate processes to ensure consistency across the Vandenberg spaceport and test range and we are committed to doing so efficiently and with speed.”

 

A groundbreaking study is underway at Vandenberg SFB, involving the U.S. Space Force, Brigham Young University, California State University-Bakersfield, the Federal Aviation Administration, SpaceX, and NASA.

This collaborative research seeks to enhance understanding of rocket-generated sonic booms, which differ significantly from those produced by aircraft.

 

According to Col. Shoemaker, the research addresses new challenges related to sonic booms during launches along California’s coast. “This is a significant focus area for us.

As we safely move launches further east to open access to operational orbits, we’re encountering new challenges, such as the phenomenon of sonic booms during ascent along the coast of California,” Shoemaker stated.

 

The study employs approximately 25 advanced monitoring stations across 500 square miles of California’s central coast.

These stations track complex sonic boom patterns generated during rocket launches, collecting vital data from areas between Isla Vista and Malibu to the hills of Ojai.

 

Kent Gee, a professor from Brigham Young University leading the academic team, highlighted the intricacies of this research.

“It’s like trying to catch lightning in a bottle,” Gee remarked. “All launches generate sonic booms; however, their audibility to the public is influenced by several factors, including the launch trajectory, the size of the rocket, and atmospheric conditions.”

 

Research has shown that seemingly identical launch paths can produce vastly different noise levels on the ground.

This variability has prompted a deeper investigation into the interaction between flight paths, atmospheric changes, and the diverse microclimates along California’s Central Coast.

 

To mitigate the impact of launch noise, the U.S. Space Force is actively applying the findings from ongoing research.

Data models are evaluated during the Launch Readiness Review to predict noise levels, and subsequent data collection informs adjustments to minimise disruptions.

Space Force, states at odds over National Guard plans

The head of the U.S. Space Force is moving ahead with plans to pull talent from Air National Guard units to help build up the still new military service — but several governors remain opposed and argue it tramples on their rights to retain control over their state units.

Overall, the plan would affect only 578 service members across six states and the Air National Guard headquarters and augment the Space Force without creating a separate Space Force National Guard — something the service has said would not be efficient because it would be so small.

 

“We are actively pursuing where do we want our part-time workforce? What type of work do they do?” the head of Space Force, Gen. Chance Saltzman, said Thursday at a Politico conference in Washington.

The Space Force was established by President Donald Trump in late 2019, during his first term.

In the years since, the Air Force has transferred its space missions into the now five-year-old military branch — except for the 578 positions still contained in the Air National Guard, which is part of the Air Force.

In the 2025 defense bill, Congress mandated that those positions move over to the Space Force as well.

 

The transferred service members would be a part-time force like they are now, just serving under the Space Force instead of their state units.

But space missions are some of the most lucrative across the military and private sector and the states that lose space mission service member billets are potentially losing highly valuable part-time workforce members if they have to move away to transfer into the Space Force.

 

Last month, the National Governors Association said the transfers violate their right to retain control over their state units.

“We urge that any transfers cease immediately and that there be direct and open engagement with governors,” the Association said in April.

The group was not immediately available to comment on Space Force’s plan.

 

“There’s a lot of concern in the National Guard about these individuals who are highly skilled that want to be in the Guard being transferred out,” Oklahoma Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin said at an Air Force manpower hearing this week.

The contention between the states and the Space Force has meant the service hasn’t so far been able to approach individual members about transferring in.

 

According to the legislation, each National Guard will get the option to either stay with their units — and get retrained in another specialty — or join the Space Force.

Even if they do transfer into the Space Force, their positions would remain located in those same states for at least the next 10 years, according to the 2025 legislation.

The affected personnel include 33 from Alaska, 126 from California, 119 from Colorado, 75 from Florida, 130 from Hawaii, 69 from Ohio and 26 from Air National Guard headquarters.

Drone Strike Hits Russian Ammo Depot, Explosions Reported

Overnight strikes in occupied Crimea have reportedly ignited a major fire at a Russian ammunition depot near the village of Perevalne, in what may be one of the most damaging drone attacks in recent months.

The resistance group Crimean Wind reported that the depot belonged to the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

 

Multiple explosions were heard, and large fires broke out—though Russian authorities have not officially confirmed damage to the base.

Sevastopol’s Russian-installed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed that air defenses were active over the Black Sea and said six drones were shot down.

“The loud sounds heard in the city were the work of our military,” he said on Telegram.

 

The Russian Ministry of Defense later announced that 65 Ukrainian drones were intercepted in total—43 over the Black Sea, 21 over Crimea, and one over the Belgorod region.

Despite the claims, visual and on-the-ground reports suggest that some drones made it through.

 

The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh claimed responsibility for tracking the target and reported that explosions occurred not just at the 126th brigade’s depot but also at the nearby 8th Separate Artillery Regiment, both located in Perevalne.

“There are reports of Russian soldiers killed while on duty at the depot,” the group said.

 

Fires Still Burning Hours After Strike

According to Crimea.Realities, the base is known to house ammunition, fuel, and military vehicles. It had previously been targeted in March and August 2023.

Atesh stated their agents monitored the site throughout 2024 and noted that the base lacked significant air defense systems.

 

As of 9:36 a.m., Ukrainian official Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, said fires were still burning at the military site.

The attack in Crimea comes amid a broader wave of Ukrainian drone strikes overnight, which reportedly targeted key military facilities deeper inside Russia—including defense plants and airbases that house strategic bombers and missiles.

The Russian Defense Ministry has published a video showcasing recent interceptions of Ukrainian rotorcraft bomber drones. These robotic aircraft are notable for their frequent integration with Elon Musk’s Starlink system.

Footage released on Thursday shows three separate interceptions by units from Russia’s West group, which deployed small kamikaze drones to counter the Ukrainian aircraft.

The drones in question, dubbed “Baba Yaga” after a flying witch from Slavic folklore, were originally agricultural rotorcraft, but were repurposed for military missions.

Earlier this month, the Russian military described tactics used to down the drones, including the deployment of sniper teams in which the spotter provides cover fire from an assault rifle, should the target try to engage the main shooter.

A sniper identified by the callsign “Sirius” explained the approach, saying in some situations it’s advantageous for the team to remain in place after being discovered.

Ukraine admits to losing third F-16

The Ukrainian military has confirmed the loss of another US-designed F-16 fighter jet as it was repelling a Russian strike. This marks the third such incident since Kiev started receiving the advanced warplanes from the West.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, all communication with the jet was lost at approximately 3:30am on Friday while it was carrying out a defensive combat mission. No data was provided regarding the location of the crash.

 

Officials said that the unnamed pilot had “destroyed three aerial targets and was engaging a fourth using the aircraft’s cannon when an onboard emergency occurred.”

At the time, Kiev confirmed that its pilot was killed during an “unidentified combat mission” but did not reveal any additional details. Another F-16 was lost in 2024 while responding to a Russian airstrike; its pilot was also killed.

 

Some Ukrainian officials had hoped that the F-16 would boost Ukraine’s air defenses, but Western experts had warned that it would be unlikely to significantly alter the situation on the battlefield.

Later, officials in Kiev acknowledged that the F-16 could not withstand the most advanced Russian jets and complained about the numerous logistical hurdles involved in deploying the US-designed fighters.

 

Russia has condemned Western arms shipments to Ukraine, warning they only prolong the conflict without changing its outcome.

RSF drone strike on Sudan army hospital kills four, injures dozens

A drone attack attributed to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a Sudanese army medical facility in El Obeid on Thursday killed at least four people and injured more than 60, witnesses and doctors said.

El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state in western Sudan, has been under heavy bombardment from RSF artillery and drones for weeks, resulting in dozens of civilian deaths.

Witnesses and doctors told Sudan Tribune that a “strategic drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces dropped a missile on the Army Medical Corps Hospital,” leading to the initial death toll of four patients and leaving over 60 seriously wounded.

 

Some of the injured were transported to the Social Security Hospital and El Obeid Teaching Hospital, according to the sources.

A similar RSF attack on the national prison in El Obeid on May 10 killed 21 people and injured 47.

Armed clashes have intensified recently across the Kordofan region between the army and its allies from armed movements against the RSF.

 

The army’s operations in Kordofan aim to open a route to Darfur and break the siege on El Fasher, the region’s largest city.

The RSF, meanwhile, is fiercely defending its controlled areas in North, West, and South Kordofan and repeatedly targets El Obeid in an effort to hinder the army’s progress.

Two firefighters among three killed in blaze at former RAF base in Oxfordshire

Two firefighters and a member of the public have died after a large fire at a former RAF base in Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire county council said the two firefighters died while tackling the blaze at Bicester Motion on Thursday.

Bicester Motion, home to more than 50 specialist businesses focused on classic car restoration and engineering, is located at the site of RAF Bicester, a former bomber station.

 

One of the firefighters killed was a London firefighter on “retained duty” with the Oxfordshire fire service, while the other was with the Oxfordshire service.

People laid flowers at the scene on Friday. One bunch was left by a family with a note that read: “Sending all our love to those who lost their lives and to those who did not think twice about making that sacrifice to help others.

Thinking of the fire service, their families, friends and the wider community and all those services who came to help. Rest easy.”

Another said: “Thank you for your service.”

 

Amy Angeletta said she had laid flowers out of a sense of community. “People have lost their lives and it’s quite a close-knit community here.

It’s just to pay your respects. The area has a very lovely friendly atmosphere. At a time like this, it just feels like everybody pulls together,” she said.

The bravery of our firefighters is astounding. Hoping those in hospital make a full and swift recovery.”

 

Ten fire and rescue crews were called to tackle the fire, which started on Thursday evening and prompted a major response and warnings for residents to stay indoors.

The fire was still burning on Friday morning but was under control, the council said. Other support appliances remained on scene, including a hydraulic platform, a water carrier, a command unit and a high-volume pumping unit.

Two other firefighters suffered serious injuries and were in hospital, the council added.

 

Oxfordshire fire and rescue service’s chief fire officer appeared emotional as he paid tribute to the “unwavering bravery” of those who attended the fire.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Rob MacDougall did not release further details about those who died but said: “It is with a heavy heart that today we report the loss of two of our firefighters.

A member of the public has also sadly died in the incident.

 

“Two further firefighters sustained serious injuries and are currently in hospital.”

MacDougall appeared to be holding back tears as he gave the update and concluded by saying:

“I am immensely proud and grateful for the exemplary multi-agency response and unwavering bravery demonstrated by all the emergency services personnel.”

 

The commissioner of London fire brigade, Andy Roe, said: “Following the terrible news from Oxfordshire that two firefighters have died in the line of duty, alongside a member of the public, it is with great sadness that I can confirm that one of those who lost their lives is a London leading firefighter/sub-officer, who was on retained duty with Oxfordshire fire and rescue service.

“We are devastated by the loss of our colleague and our thoughts remain with the families and friends of all those impacted by this incident.”

 

Roe added: “Our sincere condolences go out to Oxfordshire fire and rescue service who also sadly lost a firefighter at this incident, with a further two colleagues in hospital.”

Vikas Talwar, 40, who lives near Bicester Motion, could see the fire from the street corner outside his house.

He said: “There was a lot of smoke yesterday. Lots of people were gathering here on the corner but a lot of smoke was coming out.

There was flames on the roof, on the top of the roof, and a huge big cloud of smoke in the air. I could see it from this corner near my house.”

 

Speaking of those who died in the fire, he said: “It’s so sad. It’s very heartbreaking. We have sympathy with the people involved.

I can see there was a quick reaction by the fire brigade and ambulance teams when they came in. I saw the air ambulances in the air in the evening.”

China’s student-built drone shatters Guinness World Record with 211.75 mph speed

Amicrodrone developed by a Chinese student has set a new Guinness World Record for speed.

The drone, named Prowess, weighs under 250 grams and reached a top speed of 211.75mph (340.78km/h ), surpassing previous records for remote-controlled microdrone quadcopters.

The record-setting flight occurred on March 23 in Huizhou, located in China’s Guangdong province.

 

The drone was piloted by Xu Yang, a model aircraft enthusiast and student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen.

Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement in a WeChat post published on Monday, as reported by Chinese online media.

Early in the week, Purdue University students’ robotic system, Purdubik’s Cube, set a Guinness World Record by solving a puzzle cube in just 0.103 seconds.

 

Microdrone speed milestone

Yang, a Chinese University of Hong Kong student in Shenzhen, piloted his custom-built drone, Prowess, at record speed.

Weighing under 250 grams—the limit for the microdrone category—the aircraft surpassed a speed barrier that had remained unbroken for three years, marking a significant milestone in micro-UAV design.

Yang was inspired by a 2022 microdrone concept developed by remote aircraft builder Quadmovr, which achieved an unofficial speed of 136.8 mph (219km/h). In October, Yang exceeded that with a test flight reaching 151.6 mph (244km/h).

 

Following input from international drone builders, he further refined his drone’s design and performance, ultimately achieving the world record.

The accomplishment highlights the rapid advancements in lightweight, high-speed drone technology, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

 

Pushing drone boundaries

The drone incorporates a lightweight carbon fibre frame and an ultrathin 0.4mm 3D-printed shell.

Yang also designed and 3D-printed custom high-speed propellers to meet the unique performance demands, as no suitable commercial options were available.

This required multiple rounds of design optimization to achieve the desired results.

 

Before the official flight, Yang heated the drone’s battery to around 40°C to ensure maximum performance during the speed trial.

His efforts paid off when the Prowess drone reached a top speed of 211.75 mph (340.78km/h), surpassing a long-standing barrier in micro-UAV design.

 

According to SCMP, Swiss engineer Samuele Gobbi, the current Guinness World Record holder for the fastest remote-controlled quadcopter in the non-micro category, recognized Yang’s achievement as groundbreaking.

Gobbi had previously received a specialized speed calculation method from the former record holder and later passed it on to Yang.

This method was instrumental in analyzing flight data and verifying the record. Yang’s work is a significant milestone in ultralight, high-speed drone engineering.

 

Yang emphasized that the drone speed racing community values cooperation over competition, expressing his willingness to share his knowledge with future challengers.

His journey to the record was not without setbacks—one of his prototypes crashed during a test in November due to motor overload, reports The Star.

 

Despite the challenges, Yang remains committed to pushing the limits of drone performance. He plans to refine the motor and propeller design to achieve even greater speeds.

For Yang, pursuing extreme speed is ongoing, reflecting a dedication to innovation and continuous improvement in high-speed microdrone technology, reports SCMP.

“It is critically important that we close any gaps in our response to these unexplained aerial events,” Hamada said. “Our position is to proceed with every possible scenario in mind.”

“As one of the league’s founding members, I continue to recognize the strategic importance of UAPs,” Kihara said.

Lake Michigan’s Bermuda Triangle: Shipwrecks, UFOs, and More

You've probably heard of the "Bermuda Triangle"

A roughly 500,000 square mile area inside the Atlantic ocean that runs between Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico where many unexplained things have happened involving boats and airplanes disappearing and never being seen or heard from again.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) there are several theories about why these strange disappearances happen.

 

Some believe that it's an unexplained force possibly from another dimension. While others believe it can be explained by science.

Most tropical storms and hurricanes that happen in the Atlantic ocean come through the Bermuda triangle.

 

Back in the day technology wasn't as sophisticated as it is now which might have caused ships and planes to be lost if they ran into those strong storms.

Michigan has a similar Bermuda triangle that has been known to have many shipwrecks, plane crashes, disappearances along with reports of Unidentified flying objects (UFOs.) and unidentified submerged objects (USOs.)

 

Where Is The Lake Michigan Triangle?

The Lake Michigan triangle goes from Ludington to Manitowoc, down to Benton Harbor, and back to Ludington.

Just like the Bermuda triangle there are some people that believe something strange and unknown is causing these things to happen.

While there are some that try to explain it from a scientific perspective saying that wind waves could be to blame, the shape of Lake Michigan could allow for dangerous currents along with strong wind to take down a ship.

 

There is also the possibility of the disappearances being due to magnetic anomalies caused by magnetic declination and magnetic deviation.

This is the difference between true north and magnetic north, which can be different depending on location.

 

Lake Michigan deviates four to five degrees westward on average, which could possibly cause problems for an inexperienced sailor or pilot.

I hope that with both the Bermuda Triangle and the Lake Michigan triangle the strange things happening have nothing to do with a weird magnet field or UFO's and instead can be blamed on extreme weather that should be visible on radar giving planes and ships a heads up to try and navigate around it.

New York State Resident Describes Black Disc-Shaped Object In the Sky

Another witness in in the state of New York has reported something in the sky that they can not make much sense of.

This follows a string of recent reports from the across the state, detailing bizarre things from above.

 

New York state has once again seen another busy year for sightings of alleged discs, orbs, and other unexplained airborne objects, One such report even claimed they witnessed an actual human abduction by an unidentified craft in May 2024, though there is absolutely no credible basis to this claim.

 

New York State Resident Describes Black Disc-Shaped Object In the Sky

One of the latest filings to the National Unidentified Flying Object Recording Center is from an alleged encounter in Painted Post, New York, from late May 2.

The witness says they saw something flying in the sky that was roughly the size of a car, that they describe as a black disk with no lights.

 

The person told the NUFORC that they observed a "black disc-shaped object flying in a perfectly straight line across the sky".

They go on to claim that it moved at a constant speed, made no sound, had no lights, and showed no fluctuation or wobble. If true, this would rule out a bird, drone, or conventional aircraft.

 

The report says that the strange object "passed through the low clouds and disappeared into one after a few seconds".

The resident say that the object was "very round and moved smoothly with no visible means of propulsion."

World Bank says Syria eligible for new loans as arrears cleared

 

WASHINGTON, May 16 (Reuters) -The World Bank said on Friday it had cleared Syria's $15.5 million in outstanding debt after receiving payments from Saudi Arabia and Qatar,making the country eligible for millions of dollars in grants for reconstruction and budget support.

 

The step follows a surprise announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that he would order the lifting of all sanctions on Syria, which is struggling to rebuild after 13 years of civil war. The United States is likely to begin providing some sanctions relief in the coming weeks.

As of May 12, Syria has no outstanding balances with the International Development Association, the bank's fund for the poorest countries, the World Bank said.

"We are pleased that the clearance of Syria’s arrears will allow the World Bank Group to reengage with the country and address the development needs of the Syrian people," the bank said in a statement. "After years of conflict, Syria is on a path to recovery and development."

 

The bank said it would work with other countries to help mobilize public and private financing for programs that can help the Syrian people build better lives, stabilizing the country and the region.

It said its first project with Syria would focus on access to electricity, which would enable economic progress and aid the delivery of essential services, from health and education to water and livelihoods. No further details were provided.

The bank said the proposed project was the first step in a planned increase in World Bank Group support to confront Syria’s urgent needs and invest in long-term development.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday said the U.S. intends to issue waivers under the "Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act", which Washington used to impose sanctions on former President Bashar al-Assad's government, as well as secondary sanctions on associated companies or governments.

The recent Senate Health Committee hearing featuring RFK Jr. — a total and predictable shitshow of pharmaceutical talking points masquerading as deep concern for constituents’ welfare — unveiled two shocking news items that had flown under my radar, and likely yours, just within the first few minutes.

 

First, Sen. Rand Paul broached an alleged lover’s spat among government biolab workers that resulted in the jaded lover poking a hole in the other’s hazmat suit at a facility studying weaponized Ebola, potentially exposing him/her to the virus and, by extension, risking an outbreak — an incident that the director, Dr. Connie Schmaljohn, apparently didn’t believe even warranted reporting, much less punishment.

“A US government lab studying the world's deadliest diseases been shut down over safety concerns after a spat between two scientists who were romantically involved.

 

Speaking anonymously, an HHS source revealed that one of the researchers poked a hole in the other's protective equipment during a vicious 'lovers' spat'. Dr Connie Schmaljohn, the lab's director, was also placed on administrative leave after she allegedly failed to report the incident to other officials.”

 

The truly horrific line of questioning from Paul, however, concerned his allegation that a DHS lab close to the infamous Fort Detrick facility is working on aerosolized Ebola:

 

“I am told in public records that they are doing experiments or have done experiments to aerosolize Ebola at the Impact lab, that’s the DHS lab nearby Fort Detrick… The idea of aerosolizing Ebola, I think is, uh, and/or training Ebola to be aerosolized is incredibly dangerous and probably goes against the Biological Weapons Convention.”

 

On that score, I had known there was a concern that The Science™ might undertake such a reckless project, but I wasn’t aware there was already evidence in the public domain that they had actively looked into how to make aerosolized Ebola infectious to humans.

 

Back in 2012, researchers at now-shuttered Fort Detrick, which also developed SARS-CoV-2, sought to manipulate, with success, mouse genetics to make them more susceptible to aerosolized Ebola.

Ryan Socash of It’s History takes a look at the landmark “UFO Bridge” (officially called the Most SNP Bridge) in Bratislava, Slovakia, speaking with tour guide Eva Cubrikova to learn more about how the local community viewed the bridge when it was first built and how it is seen now.

From a distance it looks like something out of science fiction A flying saucer hovering over Slovakia’s grandest river But this isn’t a movie set It’s a real structure built during the Cold War by a regime determined to reshape its capital city even if that meant erasing part of its past.

 

The UFO Bridge was built between 1967 and 1972 during the height of the Cold War. Construction destroyed a great deal of the historic Old Town and rose incongruously above the city, a brutalist figure standing over the charming European city and crossing the Danube River.

The idea wasn’t just to construct a bridge It was to create a new architectural symbol one that would reflect technological optimism modern design and the muscle of a new era.

But ambition came at a cost. Over 100 buildings were demolished to make room for the roads feeding the bridge. Homes, a synagogue, a conservatory and more.

Whole blocks of the Old Town were sacrificed in the name of progress.

 

In its early years, the restaurant at the top was only for those who could afford such luxury. There was a plan for a public promenade, but current events at the time made it impossible.

Dining at the top came with a high price tag meant for exclusive guests diplomats dignitaries high-ranking party members and so on The people could admire it but few would ever enter.

Interestingly, the bridge was originally designed to include a public promenade, with glass panels and shops linking both riverbanks The idea was scrapped after the 1968 Soviet invasion.

 

The UFO Bridge is currently considered a local icon, as it is the longest single span bridge in the world and Slovakia’s “Building of the Century” in 2001.

Time has a way of transforming perception. Some who once resented this bridge began to admire it Others never forgot what was lost.

Zelensky after the phone call told reporters that "pressure on Russia must be maintained". He stated: "Our position — if the Russians reject a full and unconditional ceasefire and an end to killings, tough sanctions must follow."

 

Kiev's top European allies blasted Russia's stance as presented in Istanbul "unacceptable":

 

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, joined by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish leader Donald Tusk, said in a statement on Friday that “the Russian position is clearly unacceptable, and not for the first time,” according to Reuters.

 

And PM Starmer followed by saying, "As a result of that meeting with President Zelensky and the discussion with President Trump, we are now closely aligning and coordinating our responses and will continue to do so."

FBI Director Kash Patel announced Friday that the bureau is leaving its longtime DC headquarters in the J. Edgar Hoover Building and transferring 1,500 employees to locations around the country.

The timing of the sexual assault allegations brought against International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan is extremely suspicious, geopolitical analyst Alessandro Bruno told RT in an interview on Friday.

 

The fact that the ICC’s head prosecutor was working on a high-profile case at the time, which involved the issuance of arrest warrants against the Israeli leadership, “raises many questions,” he added.

 

Last May, Khan announced that he would apply for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as top figures in the Hamas leadership, for war crimes committed in the Gaza conflict. The ICC issued the warrants last November, around the time when accusations against Khan surfaced.

 

The Chief Prosecutor has since taken leave from his role, pending the outcome of an external investigation, multiple media outlets reported on Friday, citing the ICC. Khan has denied any wrongdoing.

 

“The timing of the allegations is, in my view, extremely suspicious. Extremely!” Bruno told RT on Friday.

 

“The fact that the prosecutor was working on an important case concerning alleged genocide in Palestine and related accusations against the prime minister of Israel, I think I would have a little bit of skepticism as well,” he added.

 

Bruno suggested that, given Khan’s central role, the allegations could affect the ICC’s work on the case.

 

“The accusations could very much compromise the court’s decision, because he was the lead prosecutor on the case,” he said.

 

The analyst also noted that the scandal could further “undermine” the ICC’s credibility, especially in countries like Israel and the United States, neither of which are members of the court.

 

When asked why ICC member states Poland and Hungary refused to comply with the court’s arrest warrant for Netanyahu, Bruno replied that the judicial body mostly works against the leaders of developing countries.

 

“It is a controversial body. It’s supposedly run by the UN, but it has had bite, interestingly enough, against dictators in developing countries,” Bruno said.

 

Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested in Manilla on an ICC warrant in March, and extradited to The Hague on charges of crimes against humanity. An overwhelming number of previous extraditions by the court involved individuals from African countries.

The head of Budapest’s Office for the Protection of Sovereignty claimed that tens of millions of dollars from the United States and the European Union have funded left-leaning media institutions over the past three years, with the intent of overthrowing the conservative government of Viktor Orbán in Hungary.

The top man at the Office for the Protection of Sovereignty said that the globalist influence schemes were intended fund “propaganda” in the hopes of toppling the government of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, one of the leading opponents of the neo-liberal open borders and socially far-left agendas favoured by elites in Brussels and Washington.

 

According to Lánczi, the American government and the European Commission — the executive arm of the EU — gave over HUF 23 billion ($63.5 million) to media outlets, which he claimed were in fact political pressure groups, over the past three years, alone.

 

“It’s not micro-donations, it’s not reader support, it’s not a voluntary offering, it’s money from foreign powers… It’s not charity, it’s a HUF 23 billion foreign intervention. This money was used to buy media workers, activists and politicians,” he said per the Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

 

The watchdog said the majority of the funding came from the European Commission, accounting for HUF 19.5 billion ($54 million) of the total. However, Lánczi said that USAID — under the Biden administration — directed HUF 3.5 billion ($9.7 million) to fund anti-Orbán media.

Pfizer May Have Plotted To Delay COVID Vaccine Until After 2020 Election, Congress Says

 

On Thursday, the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee announced that it received bombshell evidence that suggested Pfizer executives pushed to delay full testing for their company’s COVID vaccine until after the 2020 election.

 

British drugmaker GSK informed the panel that Philip Dormitzer, a former Pfizer executive who became a senior scientist at GSK, told colleagues at GSK that “in late 2020, the three most senior people in Pfizer R&D were involved in a decision to deliberately slow down clinical testing so that it would not be complete prior to the results of the presidential election that year.”

 

The Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), said that it had sought information from GSK after The Wall Street Journal reportedin March that U.S. prosecutors were looking into a tip from the company that came in “soon” after President Donald Trump won a second term in 2024.

 

The Journal noted that Trump, who lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential contest, “for years has claimed that Pfizer sat on the positive results of clinical trials, which could have reflected well on his management of the pandemic and reassured voters as they headed to the polls. There has never been evidence to support the accusation, and the development of the Covid vaccines is widely viewed as a medical miracle, coming faster than any other vaccine in history.”

 

As relayed by the Judiciary Committee, GSK responded to the panel’s inquiry in mid-April. In another part of the reply given to congressional investigators, GSK said Dormitzer had requested a transfer over concerns about what the new Trump administration might do to him.

 

“In November 2024, shortly after the election, Dr. Dormitzer approached a representative from the GSK human resources team to speak about a potential relocation abroad. As the human resources representative recalls, in their meeting, Dr. Dormitzer was visibly upset; he requested that he be relocated to Canada due to concerns that he could be investigated by the incoming Trump Administration over his role in developing Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine,” GSK said. “According to the human resources representative, when asked what prompted his request, Dr. Dormitzer made a comment to the effect of: ‘Let’s just say it wasn’t a coincidence, the timing of the vaccine.'”

 

The Journal reported in March that GSK and Pfizer, who are rivals in the pharmaceutical industry, have sued each other over patent rights tied to vaccines.

 

Dormitzer, who has since left GSK, provided a statement to the newspaper.

 

“My Pfizer colleagues and I did everything we could to get the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization at the very first possible moment,” Dormitzer said. “Any other interpretation of my comments about the pace of the vaccine’s development would be incorrect.”

 

The House panel sent a letter to Dormitzer requesting documents and a transcribed interview by May 29. Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla was the recipient of another letter that sought records by the same date.

 

In response to a request for comment, a Pfizer representative told The Daily Wire that the company received the letter asking about the allegations in the Wall Street Journal report and “will respond directly” to the House Judiciary Committee.

 

Pfizer also provided a statement that said: “The COVID-19 vaccine development process was driven by science and guided by the U.S. FDA back in 2020. We have consistently and transparently reiterated the facts and the timeline of the tireless work of scientists, regulators, and thousands of clinical trial volunteers who made the vaccine possible. Theories to the contrary are simply untrue and being manufactured.”

 

The Judiciary Committee emphasized that it is “unclear which Pfizer R&D employees were involved with Dr. Dormitzer in the decision to delay the clinical testing,” but did note that he “represented to GSK that Pfizer’s CEO was not aware of the delay.”

 

A GSK spokesperson declined to comment.

 

Jordan (R-OH), a close ally to Trump, posted on X in response to the information obtained by his panel: “Did Pfizer executives conspire to delay COVID-19 vaccine testing to influence the 2020 election? Based on our oversight, it sure looks like it.”

The Pentagon Is Using a Fabricated Chinese Threat to Build Genetically Engineered Soldiers

 

On April 8, a bipartisan commission chartered by Congress warned that China is rapidly advancing a terrifying new military threat: genetically engineered “super soldiers.”

 

The report by the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB) urges the U.S. to respond with a sweeping effort to militarize biotechnology. It offers little concrete evidence that such Chinese programs even exist.

 

In the name of national security, Washington is now pushing for deregulation, massive government investment, and human experimentation. Experts say this effort echoes Cold War-era paranoia and threatens to erode ethical boundaries in science and warfare.

 

A Congressional Research Service fact sheet on the report claims its contents “describe how biotechnology could potentially revolutionize agricultural production in the U.S., transform U.S. health care, and change the future of computing power.” While that may sound promising, the report’s focus is overwhelmingly on using biotechnology for military purposes, including the creation of “genetically enhanced soldiers.” The report also states that “biotechnology’s impact on surveillance could be … transformative.”

 

The report argues that biology could revolutionize warfare just as airpower did in the 20th century, promising new advantages in stealth, logistics, and real-time physiological monitoring of soldiers. It calls for “a fundamental rethinking” of how the U.S. uses biotech in combat.

 

Biotechnology also promises new advantages in stealth and mobility. Dynamic biological camouflage, for instance, could shield warfighters from thermal detection, while wearable biosensors could adjust mission parameters based on real-time physiological data. Taken together, these advances demand a fundamental rethinking of how biology supports sustained, agile military operations, revolutionizing what it means to defend the U.S., including building for, nourishing, and healing forces in the field.”

 

The report argues that “winning” the global biotech race will “require de-risking the domestic production of defense-related biotechnology products” and changing “military specifications” to enable biotechnology companies to sell their products to the Pentagon more easily. Repeated references are also made to the need to “reduce or remove regulatory hurdles for familiar products.” Although the report never defines “familiar products,” the term may refer to controversial and experimental technologies such as CRISPR gene editing and mRNA therapeutics.

 

NSCEB also calls for large-scale “biological databases” to be treated as a “strategic resource.” It urges Congress to direct the Pentagon to build commercial facilities across the country to biomanufacture products deemed “critical for DOD needs.” The U.S. government “will need to shoulder some of the risk of early-stage financing for biotechnology and encourage private investment,” such as “[streamlining] regulatory processes to alleviate unnecessary burdens and accelerate the commercialization.”

59 major banks face extreme commercial real estate exposure

A Las Vegas man who sent antisemitic death threats to Senator Jacky Rosen, a Nevada Jewish Democrat, was sentenced to almost four years in prison Tuesday.

 

John Anthony Miller, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of threatening a federal official as well as two more charges related to the threats in December, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.

 

The charges relate to a series of threatening messages left by Miller in October 2023, shortly after Hamas’s October 7 Massacre, on the office phone of Rosen, who has been a staunch Israel advocate.

In one of the October 17 voicemails, Miller allegedly said, “You done picked your side, bitch, and you done chose evil. I don’t give a f if you were born into it or not, b*ch, you are f*ing evil, bitch, and we are going to exterminate you.”

 

Miller was sentenced to 46 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release by a Nevada US District court. He had also made threats against the family of another US senator who was not named, according to the US attorney’s office.

US official admits misleading Trump on US troop numbers in Syria

 

Outgoing Ambassador Jim Jeffrey, the U.S. special envoy for Syria, admitted in an interview with Defense One to misleading President Donald Trump about the true number of U.S. troops deployed in Syria and convincing the president not to withdraw troops.

 

Jeffrey said, “We were always playing shell games to not make clear to our leadership how many troops we had there.” Jeffrey said the actual number of troops in northeast Syria is “a lot more than” the approximately 200 troops Trump agreed to keep in the country in 2019.

 

According to anonymous sources who spoke with Defense One, the true number of U.S. troops in Syria is said to be around 900, though the precise number is classified and reportedly remains unknown even to Trump and other members of his administration hoping to bring U.S. troops out of foreign engagements.

 

Trump called for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria at the end of 2018 and again in October 2019, both times receiving pushback. Despite calling for the withdrawals, both times Trump was convinced to leave a contingent of U.S. troops in the county.

 

“What Syria withdrawal? There was never a Syria withdrawal,” Jeffrey told Defense One. “When the situation in northeast Syria had been fairly stable after we defeated ISIS, [Trump] was inclined to pull out. In each case, we then decided to come up with five better arguments for why we needed to stay. And we succeeded both times. That’s the story.”

 

After his October 2019 call for the withdrawal of troops from Syria, Trump was convinced last year to agree to keep between 200 and 400 U.S. troops in the country to maintain control of oil fields. The actual number of troops in the country is said to be much higher than Trump was led to believe.

 

CNN national security correspondent Jim Sciutto similarly tweeted hearing claims that Department of Defense officials deceived Trump about the true U.S. presence in Syria.

 

“In #TheMadmanTheory, senior DOD officials told me how they fooled Trump into leaving troops on the ground: ‘If you look at his tweets, they were definitive about leaving. And then we didn’t leave. And now we haven’t left, we’re still there, and that’s a good thing,'” Sciutto tweeted.

 

Jeffrey’s revelations come days after Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper and three more top DOD officials resigned following Esper’s removal. Jeffrey himself is now set to retire, Defense One reported.

 

In 2016, Jeffrey did sign a letter with dozens of GOP national security officials, criticizing then-candidate Trump as not qualified to lead and raising concerns about his ability to handle foreign policy decisions. In his latest interview with Defense One, Jeffrey actually credited Trump with achieving more stability in the Middle East than President George W. Bush or President Barack Obama.

 

“Nobody really wants to see President Trump go, among all our allies [in the Middle East],” Jeffrey said. “The truth is President Trump and his policies are quite popular among all of our popular states in the region. Name me one that’s not happy.”

According to Merriam-Webster, “86” is used as a colloquial term meaning “to throw out,” “to get rid of,” or “to refuse service to.”

 

The origin of the term is debated, with one theory saying it came from when barkeeps threw disorderly guests out of a former New York bar called Chumley’s, which was located at 86 Bedford St.

 

Another version, cited in the book “The History and Stories of the Best Bars of New York,” was that during Prohibition, police would call the bartenders at Chumley’s to ‘86’ their patrons out the 86 Bedford door so they wouldn’t have to arrest them.

This rule classifies changes to Social Security, such as eliminating taxes on benefits, as "extraneous" to budgetary reform unless they are incidental to the budget process.

 

To eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, Congress would need to pass a standalone bill, which requires 60 Senate votes to overcome a potential filibuster. With a closely divided Senate, securing bipartisan support for such a measure is difficult, especially if Democrats oppose it due to fiscal concerns.

Los Angeles approves $30 minimum wage for airport, hotel workers

 

"My concern remains that we are on a path to having the highest-paid unemployed workforce in the country, where wages go up, but job opportunities disappear," said council member Monica Rodriguez, who voted against the measure.

 

The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday approved a $30 an hour minimum wage hike for airport and hotel workers, which will be enacted by 2028 in time for the Olympics. City council members approved the measure in a 12-3 vote. While union officials praised the approval, those working in the hospitality industry vigorously opposed the legislation and warned that the pay increase could result in mass layoffs, increased costs for consumers, and hotels shutting down.

 

According to the Olympic Wage ordinance, hourly pay will increase by $2.50 each year until 2028, where it will cap at $30 per hour. The first increase will occur on July 1, 2025, at an amount of $22.50 an hour, as stated in the measure. The current minimum wage is set at $20.00 per hour.

 

American Hotel and Lodging Association CEO Rosanna Maietta issued a warning about the proposal last month. She stated at the time, according to California Globe: "Hotel employees in Los Angeles are paid the highest wages in the country, but right now their jobs are at risk. City leaders are considering a damaging proposal that will jeopardize these jobs; it would devastate much needed tourism related tax revenue and lead to the closure of hotels that are desperately needed to successfully host the 2026 World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Olympics."

 

Despite the opposition, Los Angeles lawmakers overwhelmingly rejected the concerns and called the passing of the bill a "win" for the working class.

 

"This is what it looks like when people come together and fight - we win," said Los Angeles City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, who voted to approve the ordinance. "For too long, the workers who make this city run have been treated as disposable. This ordinance makes it clear if you work in this city, you deserve to live in this city - with dignity, healthcare, and a living wage."

 

Jessica Durrum, deputy director of Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE), echoed a similar sentiment, stating that the "common sense" measure was critical to ensure that "tourism workers can afford to live in the city where they work and not be displaced by skyrocketing housing costs."

 

While the majority of council members approved the bill, councilwoman Monica Rodriguez was not one of them. She explained to the paper that she opposed the increase because it lacked "fiscal foresight" and could elevate unemployment.

 

"This policy imposes a significant wage and health benefit increase overnight that will inevitably result in higher hotel rates, reduced hours for hotel workers, and job losses-not just in hotels, but across businesses that rely on tourism: restaurants, retail, attractions, and our struggling commercial corridors," said Rodriguez. "Tying the wage increase to the 2028 Olympics may sound appealing, but the reality is that many of those events are happening outside city limits, yet this increase only impacts the City of Los Angeles, making our hotels less competitive and undercutting our ability to attract tourists resulting in a loss of TOT, taxes and other economic impacts that the City will lose as we are facing a $1 billion deficit and laying off workers."

Lead to Gold: A Modern Alchemical Feat at CERN

 

In a newly published study in Physical Review Journals, scientists from CERN’s ALICE experiment have observed something extraordinary: the transformation of lead into gold inside the powerful Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

 

For centuries, alchemists dreamed of turning lead into gold. Known as chrysopoeia, this ancient quest was based on the idea that both metals were heavy and shared similar properties. Of course, we now know that lead and gold are completely different elements, and no chemical process can turn one into the other.

A New Kind of Alchemy—Powered by Physics

 

In the 20th century, nuclear physics revealed that atoms could change from one element into another. This could happen naturally through radioactive decay or be triggered in laboratories using high-energy particles like neutrons or protons. Gold has been made this way before, but now, the ALICE team has measured a completely new method of element-changing magic—this time using near misses between high-speed lead atoms.

 

When two lead nuclei race through the LHC at nearly the speed of light, they sometimes just miss each other. Instead of colliding head-on, they pass close enough to trigger intense electromagnetic forces. These interactions can generate bursts of energy that change the very identity of atomic nuclei, including turning lead into gold.

 

Photon Bursts and Nuclear Shifts

 

The electromagnetic field emanating from a lead nucleus is particularly strong because the nucleus contains 82 protons, each carrying one elementary charge. Moreover, the very high speed at which lead nuclei travel in the LHC (corresponding to 99.999993% of the speed of light) causes the electromagnetic field lines to be squashed into a thin pancake, transverse to the direction of motion, producing a short-lived pulse of photons. Often, this triggers a process called electromagnetic dissociation, whereby a photon interacting with a nucleus can excite oscillations of its internal structure, resulting in the ejection of small numbers of neutrons and protons. To create gold (a nucleus containing 79 protons), three protons must be removed from a lead nucleus in the LHC beams.

 

“It is impressive to see that our detectors can handle head-on collisions producing thousands of particles, while also being sensitive to collisions where only a few particles are produced at a time, enabling the study of electromagnetic ‘nuclear transmutation’ processes,” says Marco Van Leeuwen, ALICE spokesperson.

Counting Gold Atoms in the Particle Smash

 

The ALICE team used the detector’s zero degree calorimeters (ZDC) to count the number of photon–nucleus interactions that resulted in the emission of zero, one, two and three protons accompanied by at least one neutron, which are associated with the production of lead, thallium, mercury and gold, respectively. While less frequent than the creation of thallium or mercury, the results show that the LHC currently produces gold at a maximum rate of about 89,000 nuclei per second from lead–lead collisions at the ALICE collision point. Gold nuclei emerge from the collision with very high energy and hit the LHC beam pipe or collimators at various points downstream, where they immediately fragment into single protons, neutrons, and other particles. The gold exists for just a tiny fraction of a second.

Israel Waited For Trump To Depart Gulf Before Launching Biggest Anti-Houthi Strikes Yet

 

Following more Houthi ballistic missile attacks targeting Israel in recent days, the IDF conducted a wave of new airstrikes in Yemen on Friday, and crucially as the US military has stepped back amid the Trump-declared ceasefire.

 

The IDF announced that its airstrikes destroyed infrastructure at the Houthi-controlled ports of Hodeidah and Salif, following missile and drone attacks on Israel. Several dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved, in a major operation that included not just fighter jets, but refueler and surveillance planes.

 

This operation appears significantly bigger and more expansive in scope than all prior rounds of Israeli attacks on Yemen. The strikes will likely continue in the coming days, especially if the Houthis respond with more attacks on Israel. The timing of Trump having just wrapped up his Gulf Arab states tour is interesting, to say the least.

 

"These ports are used for the transfer of weapons and are another example of the cynical exploitation of civilian infrastructure by the Houthi terror regime to advance terror," the IDF aid.

 

Yemen’s Sanaa International Airport was targeted by Israel for the second time, and much of it, including commercial aircraft, has already been destroyed.

 

The IDF said further that its goal is to "deepen the damage to the Houthis’ terror capabilities." Interestingly all of this comes as President Trump departs the Middle East, after his four-day Gulf tour, which made little mention of Israel or of the Houthis - at least in public comments.

 

According to Times of Israel, these attacks were delayed so as not to disrupt Trump's Gulf visit:

 

Israel waited until the end of US President Trump’s visit to the region before launching its reprisal strikes on the Houthis, a defense source tells Army Radio. Since the IDF’s last strike on Yemen, on May 6, the Houthis launched at least seven missiles and two drones at Israel.

The new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has again slammed the Trump administration for “interference” in German democracy on the same day 6 right-wing German activists were arrested for wrong-think and prevented from traveling to a conference in Milano, Italy.

 

Speaking to leftist newspaper “Die Zeit“, Merz criticized Vice-President JD Vance’s courageous pro-freedom speech at the Munich Security Conference and recent posts from Vance and SecState Marco Rubio accusing Germany of “tyranny in disguise” for using the secret political police against the largest opposition party, the AfD.

 

"Of course, we are not heading toward "tyranny," as we hear from the USA", Merz said. "Such statements must be firmly rejected. Germany was liberated from tyranny by the USA, and today Germany is stable, liberal, and democratic. We don’t need any lessons in democracy (from the USA). That’s why JD Vance’s speech at the Munich Security Conference was perceived by many, including myself, as interference."

 

On May 9, the parting Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (Social Democrats) had used a trumped-up "dossier" containing no evidence of illegal activity to slander the largest opposition party in Germany, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) as "confirmed far-right", leading the push to ban the party, fire its members from government jobs and deny it basic parliamentary rights.

 

10 million Germans voted for the AfD in February. Under pressure from an AfD lawsuit and US Senate Intelligence Committee chair Sen. Tom Cotton, the German secret police had to retract the label and remove the press release from its website.

 

On the same day Merz claimed not to need "any lessons in democracy" from the Trump administration, 6 right-wing activists belonging to the Generation Identity movement were apprehended by German police at Munich airport and taken into custody to prevent them from traveling to a "Remigration Summit" in Milano, Italy taking place on Saturday. Two of the activists were even taken off a plane they had already boarded, indicating the orders came urgently at the request of the "Conservative" Christian Democrat government in the State of Bavaria.

 

Austrian GI co-chair Martin Sellner explained what happened:

 

The German police explained that the attendence of the patriotic activists at the "Remigration Summit" would potentially "damage the reputation of the Germany state" and banned them from leaving the country – just like during the Iron Curtain.

 

The GI activists have since been released, under the stipulation they do not travel to Austria, Switzerland or Italy until Sunday. They have assured the Gateway Pundit they are alright.

 

Generation Identity is a patriotic right-wing youth movement founded in France 2012 to oppose mass migration and the loss of European cultural identity. It has been ruthlessly pursued by European authorities, the French leaders imprisoned and the Greek Lamba symbol even banned as "terrorist" in Austria (which is used in the movie "300" and the video game "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey", for example). GI leader Martin Sellner has been banned from holding book readings in Switzerland and Germany.

 

The German authorities didn't seem aware that arresting and restraining young people from traveling based on their politics could also "damage the reputation of the German state" – no matter what you think of "Generation Identity" and the "Remigration Summit".

Denver International Suffers Air Traffic Control Outage as Airport Tech Woes Continue

Denver International Airport lost communication with pilots accessing its air traffic control system for almost 90 seconds on Monday. Equipment failures were blamed for a fault that could have led to catastrophic outcomes.

 

The incident came just days after Newark Liberty International Airport reported delays due to ongoing tech issues like radar screens blanking out in front of harried air traffic controllers, as Breitbart News reported.

 

The Denver Post reports its own local air traffic tech failure came as a consequence of the Denver Air Route Traffic Control Center losing communication with pilots for just under two minutes at 1:50 p.m. on Monday when transmitters that cover a segment of airspace went down.

 

The center, in Longmont, is one of 22 across the United States and covers 285,000 miles of airspace over nine states, including portions of Wyoming, Kansas, Utah, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Arizona, the outlet detailed.

 

The outage impacted a primary and main backup frequency but not radar operations, FAA’s head of air traffic control Frank McIntosh said during a U.S. House of Representatives hearing Thursday, as confirmed by AP.

 

The Denver Post report added context to its story by listing other recent similar events, stating:

The outage occurred as the FAA is under increased scrutiny following recent plane crashes and other mishaps, including a deadly midair collision between a passenger jet and an Army helicopter in January that killed 67 people in Washington, D.C.

 

In recent weeks, a Philadelphia facility that directs planes in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey reported two radar and communication failures.

 

FAA officials have said the problems are caused in part by staff shortages and aging equipment.

 

Last week, President Donald Trump’s administration announced a multibillion-dollar plan to overhaul the country’s air traffic control system.

What Facebook conducted nearly 13 years ago makes government censorship look tame by comparison.

 

Joe Rogan’s conversation with Harvard professor and mind control expert Rebecca Lemov quickly zeroed in on one of his favorite topics: government interference in digital life.

 

Rogan opened the door with a warning that’s become all too familiar.

 

“Well, there’s so many different kinds of mind control.”

 

He continued:

“You know, one of the things we’ve talked about a lot on this podcast is, that an enormous percentage of what you’re seeing on social media in terms of interactions and debate is not real. It’s not organic.”

 

“It’s state run and state funded, and it’s whether it’s foreign governments or our government or even corporations, you’re getting inorganic discourse that’s designed to form a narrative and which is a form of mind control.”

 

Lemov jumped in and took it one step further—explaining that even when we know it’s fake, our minds still react like it’s real.

 

“Yeah. I mean, I think even on a basic level, people, it’s known and studies have shown that we respond as if it were organic and real.”

 

“Even when somebody likes a post of yours, the response is the same as, like, in-person interaction.”

 

It’s not just governments pulling strings.

 

The platforms themselves are wired to exploit how we feel.

 

“I think at the root, there is a kind of way that, on an emotional level, it’s not just manipulation of ideas, but there’s a kind of emotional engineering that’s built into the platforms and doesn’t even demand, you know, at first, government involvement.”

 

Lemov peeled back the curtain on DARPA—the government’s controversial defense research agency—and its role in shaping the digital world we now live in.

 

DARPA, she revealed, wasn’t just involved in building the internet. It may have laid the groundwork for emotional manipulation on a global scale.

 

“DARPA was involved in the development of the internet and of things like pattern recognition,” she said.

 

“The government has funded many, many studies.”

 

What worries Lemov isn’t just the tech itself—but how it’s being used.

 

“What I got interested in, in social media and how I connect it with the episodes of brainwashing—it creates states of emotional contagion that aren’t really about convincing people of a different way to think,” she explained.

 

She continued: “But more about how you feel about what you think.”

 

That emotional shift, she added, is straight out of the cult playbook.

 

“It’s not that it changed my thoughts,” she said.

 

“It’s how I felt about those thoughts.”

 

That’s when Lemov exposed one of the darkest secrets in Big Tech history—a sinister Facebook experiment that quietly tampered with the emotions of 700,000 users.

 

And they never even knew it.

 

“There’s a famous Facebook experiment I read about that took place in 2012 and was published in 2014, where they announce that they’ve achieved, mass emotional contagion at scale,” Lemov told Rogan.

 

She explained how Facebook altered users’ feeds without their consent.

 

“Whenever you go on the platform, you agree to be tested or AB testing. So this experiment exposed a group to a more—their newsfeed was altered in a negative direction emotionally, as measured by word counting software.”

 

And the results were disturbing.

 

“And they discovered that that group that had a negative exposure also responded in a more negative way, as judged through their posts and likes and responses.”

 

“The group that was exposed to a more positive newsfeed by altering the algorithm then had also a measurably statistically significant effect of more positive emotional response—and the control group was unaltered by this.”

 

In short, Facebook wasn’t just observing emotion—they were engineering it.

 

And nobody got a heads-up.

 

The full scope of the experiment only became public two years later, when researchers finally admitted what they had done.

 

Facebook’s data scientists had manipulated the feeds of 689,003 people—removing either all the positive posts or all the negative ones to measure the emotional fallout.

 

If your feed in January 2012 felt unusually bleak or suspiciously upbeat, you may have unknowingly been part of the study.

 

The team behind it, led by data scientist Adam Kramer, published their findings in a scientific journal and laid out the results in cold detail:

 

“When positive expressions were reduced, people produced fewer positive posts and more negative posts; when negative expressions were reduced, the opposite pattern occurred,” the paper said.

 

It was hard proof that emotions are contagious—and social media could be weaponized to control mood at scale.

 

The study ran for just one week, but for those caught in the algorithmic crossfire, the emotional effects may have lasted much longer.

 

But here’s where it gets truly disturbing.

 

Lemov revealed that when the experiment finally came to light, the backlash was swift—and in some cases, tragic.

 

“But, so this is why there was an ethical debate when the experiment was published in 2014,” she said.

 

One user, Lemov recalled, had a chilling reaction.

 

“And on the Facebook page of the research group that that did the experiment, at least one user wrote in saying, could I ever find out if I was in that experiment.”

 

“Because I was in the emergency room at that time with, you know, threatening to commit suicide, and I want to know if my feed was altered and maybe that pushed me over, you know, into that that state.”

 

There was no way to know.

 

“Of course, they could never know and it can’t be traced backwards. And other people had a similar response.”

 

The scandal sparked an investigation by the British government, which considered sanctions over the international scope of the experiment.

In a rare and dramatic shakeup of Calgary’s oil patch, Strathcona Resources Ltd. has launched an unsolicited takeover bid — aka a hostile takeover — for MEG Energy Corp., setting the stage for one of the largest and most closely watched battles for corporate control in recent memory.

 

The proposed acquisition, valued at approximately $6 billion, would unite two of the country’s largest heavy oil producers into what would become Canada’s fifth-largest oil company by output. The offer comes after MEG rebuffed a friendly merger proposal from Strathcona in April.

 

Strathcona, controlled by prominent Calgary financier Adam Waterous, announced Thursday it intends to formally table a cash-and-stock bid of $23.27 per MEG share, representing a 9.3% premium over MEG’s May 15 closing price.

 

The news immediately jolted markets. MEG shares surged more than 22% in early trading Friday, rising well above the implied bid value — a signal that investors are anticipating a potential bidding war or a higher revised offer.

 

Strathcona shares, meanwhile, edged slightly lower.

 

MEG’s board responded on Friday, urging shareholders to take no action, stating that it had not yet received a formal bid. The company has retained BMO Capital Markets and Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP as financial and legal advisors.

 

The two companies are roughly equal in value when adjusted for currency differences, with MEG trading at a $5.4 billion market cap and Strathcona valued at $6.6 billion. Strathcona already owns 9.2% of MEG following quiet share purchases over recent months.

 

The takeover is being viewed as a rare hostile move in Calgary’s traditionally tight-knit oil community, where mergers are often negotiated behind closed doors.

 

The deal would not only reshape Canada’s oil sector but also significantly advance Strathcona’s ambition to become a dominant player in heavy oil following its $2.84 billion divestiture of Montney gas assets this week.

 

The company also recently acquired the Hardisty crude-by-rail terminal in Alberta for $45 million, giving it strategic control over export logistics.

 

Adam Waterous, whose Waterous Energy Fund is the architect behind Strathcona’s meteoric rise, is a well-known figure in Canadian finance with ties to the federal Conservative movement.

 

His fund has signalled confidence in the bid, committing to subscribe for an additional 21.4 million Strathcona shares via a new investment round.

 

A successful merger would create a heavy oil giant with production exceeding 300,000 barrels per day, making it the fourth-largest steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) producer in Canada.

 

Strathcona claims the combined company could unlock $175 million in annual synergies, including $50 million in overhead cost reductions.

 

Importantly, MEG is also a member of the Pathways Alliance, a consortium of Canadian oil producers proposing one of the largest carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in the world.

 

Any change in ownership could influence both MEG’s role in the alliance and the broader trajectory of Alberta’s emissions reduction strategy.

 

In a statement, Strathcona said it would support a "strategic alternatives" process by MEG’s board to explore “superior” offers — provided it is not subject to a standstill agreement.

 

The company is also prepared to sign a mutual confidentiality agreement to exchange non-public information and facilitate what it calls “constructive” negotiations.

 

If successful, the takeover would mark a bold consolidation of Alberta’s oil sands sector, just as industry leaders brace for growing geopolitical tensions, regulatory uncertainty, and energy transition pressures.

 

Whether MEG will accept the deal — or find a white knight — remains the central question in what has become Calgary’s most compelling corporate drama of 2025.
