The Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream 81-76 on Thursday. The result may be forgotten within a couple of days, but a moment captured by cameras appears to be what lingers for certain people.Dream center Brittney Griner had five fouls when she re-entered the game with four minutes remaining and the Fever leading by three.

Almost immediately, she was called for her sixth foul on what one Peachtree TV announcer called a “ticky-tack” foul. Griner appeared visibly frustrated while huddling with her teammates on the floor before leaving the game. It’s worth noting that Griner was called for a foul on Fever forward Natasha Howard. (It’s also probably part of why she’s so fired up with refs these days.)

=Having fouled out, Griner went to the bench, where Peachtree TV cameras caught her frustratingly talking, though there was no audio. It appears that she is saying “fcking trash” before saying something that some people have interpreted as “fcking white girl,” presumablyabout Indiana’s Caitlin Clark, who has been at the center of ongoing narratives around her relationship with Black players in the league.

Clark, who saw her streak of games with at least one three-pointer (stretching back to her time at Iowa) end, finished the game with 11 points and six assists. She was also involved in an incident during the first quarter in which she and Dream guard Rhyne Howard bumped into one another and traded barbs. Clark could be seen telling Howard, “I’m not scared of you” afterward.

The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, which lacked the abovementioned context, spread on social media and went viral via several conservative-leaning media outlets and personalities, such as Riley Gaines.

“Brittney Griner appeared to call Caitlin Clark “trash” and a “f***ing white girl” after fouling out last night,” wrote Gaines on X. “Just a reminder: this is who we traded for the Russian Merchant of Death,” referring to Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who was part of prisoner swap with Russia that allowed the United States to get Griner home following her detainment and arrest over traces of hash oil.

Jemele Hill caught wind of Gaines’ post on Saturday and couldn’t let it slide.

“I get that your whole personality is caught up in stuff like this,so you don’t care about spreading misinformation,” wrote Hill. “1) the foul call made on her had nothing to do with Caitlin Clark. It was because she fouled Natasha Howard. 2) She clearly says “trash” and “f*cking WACK CALL” But carry on with your grifting ass.”

The United States has asked Israel in recent days to delay its full-scale military operation in Gaza as part of efforts to exhaust negotiations for a hostage deal, two sources familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

The request included two key components: Delay the full-scale operation in Gaza and enable ongoing negotiations to proceed in parallel with the military operation.

While Israel is currently conducting significant operations in Gaza, officials in Jerusalem have made it clear thatonce the full-scale ground operation begins, Israel will not withdraw from areas it enters, even as part of a potential deal. Moreover, the possibility of a ceasefire as part of any agreement would become more complicated.

“Once the maneuver begins, we will act with full force and will not stop until all objectives are achieved,” Defense Minister Israel Katz said several days ago.

Netanyahu is prepared for a temporary ceasefire to bring back hostages

Despite the ongoing military activity and as a result of Israeli statements,the US has asked Israel to allow the current negotiations for a potential hostage deal to continue. “If there’s an opportunity for a temporary ceasefire to bring back hostages, we are prepared for that,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last Wednesday.

Israel decided to recall its delegation from Qatarlast Thursday after Hamas insisted on American guarantees to end the war as part of any agreement.

Israeli officials maintain that the only deal currently on the table is the "Witkoff framework," which includes the release of 10 hostages and a 60-day ceasefire. An Israeli source told the Post a few days ago, “It’s deadlocked.”

Although the Israeli delegation has left Qatar,the US administration continues indirect talks with Hamas through Dr. Bashara Bahbah, who previously led the “Arab Americans for Trump” campaign.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is making record-breaking progress in processing a backlog of veteran disability claims that mounted under former President Joe Biden, the agency told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The VA brought unresolved claims down from 264,717 to 198,378 — or by approximately 25% — since President Donald Trump returned to office, the VA told the DCNF.Trump’s VA has also hit the highest daily and monthly processing rates in the agency’s history while reversing a 24% increase in the backlogthat occurred under Biden, the VA said in a statement.

“Under President Trump, VA’s claims processing productivity is the highest it has ever been, and we will continue working overtime on behalf of Veterans until the backlog is at record lows,” VA Secretary Doug Collins said. “Veterans and VA beneficiaries deserve timely and accurate claims decisions, and that is exactly what we will deliver.”

The last time the VA’s backlogged claims were under 200,000 was in March 2023, the department told the DCNF.A disability claim must be left unresolved for more than 125 days to be considered backlogged.

The VA set a monthly new record in Aprilby processing 256,178 claims and set a daily record with more than 15,000 on Tuesday, the agency told the DCNF.

The VA has faced complaints of delayed or low-quality health care for wounded former soldiers across multiple presidencies. The VA’s backlog grew to around 378,000 under Bidenas it prioritized partisan agendas such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Before Biden’s term, the first Trump administration brought the number to its lowest ever at 64,738, the VA said.

The largest-ever claims backlog occurred in 2013 under former President Barack Obama after several years of U.S. military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the VA.

VA Secretary Doug Collins passed Senate confirmation with a bipartisan vote in February after declaring that the VA “needs reform.” Collins’ agency has worked to remove what the Trump administration considers waste and inefficiency,planning to cut 80,000 job roles, ending taxpayer-funded “gender-affirming prosthetics” for veterans and halting millions of dollars in DEI spending.

Supreme Court temporarily allows Trump administration to shield DOGE documents

Chief Justice John Roberts put a hold on lower court rulings in a dispute over whether DOGE is a federal agency subject to freedom of information requests.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday temporarily allowed the Trump administration to shield Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from freedom of information requests seeking thousands of pages of material.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued an administrative stay that puts lower court decisions on hold while the Supreme Court considers what next steps to take.

For now,it means the government will not have to respond to requests for documents and allow for the deposition of the DOGE administrator, Amy Gleason, as a lower court had ruled.

At issue in the ongoing litigation is whether DOGE, which has played a key role in firing government workers and cutting federal grants and spending,is technically a government agency and therefore subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which allows members of the public to seek internal documents.

The Trump administration says that, despite its name, DOGE is merely a presidential advisory body that is not subject to public records requests under FOIA.

Further complicating matters, when DOGE was set up, it effectively took the place of a previous government entity called the U.S. Digital Service. The Trump administration now refers to the body as the U.S. DOGE Service, or USDS.

The case arose when watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) brought a freedom of information request in January soon after Trump took office seeking information about DOGE. CREW later filed suit.

In March, U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington ruled DOGE is “likely” covered by FOIA and that “the public would be irreparably harmed by an indefinite delay in unearthing the records CREW seeks.”

Cooper ordered DOGE to process CREW’s several FOIA requests for information on an “expedited timetable” and to begin producing documents on a rolling basis “as soon as practicable.” The court also ordered the government to preserve “all records” that may be responsive to CREW’s FOIA requests.

In addition to the more than 100,000 documents the Office of Management and Budget has that are responsive to the FOIA request ordered by Cooper, DOGE itself said it has approximately 58,000 documents responsive to the request.

The documents in question all relate back to the question of whether DOGE is a government agency.

CREW's lawyers said in court papers said that Cooper had merely issued a "narrowly-tailored discovery order" to ascertain whether DOGE is a federal agency. The Supreme Court, they added,"rarely intervenes in ongoing discovery disputes" and there was "no basis for such extraordinary intervention here."

Bennet said, “I don’t think nationally, the Democratic brand helps very much anyway, I mean anywhere.If it did, we wouldn’t have lost to Donald Trump twice. You know, I know a lot of supporters of mine and friends of mine are furious at Donald Trump. I am. Are furious at people they think aren’t standing up enough to Donald Trump. He added,“I think they’re sick of a Democratic Party who hasn’t been able to show how we’re going to address an economy where the middle class continues to shrink and where, over the last 20 years,we’ve actually lost ground in terms of, you know, the achievement of our kids in school. We need to address those things. So I think it’s very important for us to stand up against the insanity that Trump represents and the chaos that he represents and show that there’s something better.”

Kathy Hochul (D) argued that the state is going to lose money under the Republican tax and spending bill ==and people will lose health care and responded to if she’ll have to cut services to some immigrants by saying=+, “I don’t want to go there.” And “This is something we have to look at very seriously for how we can not leave these people without essential care.”

Hochul said that “no state will be able to make up those kind of cuts. We just don’t have enough money. And so people are going to be losing their health care,they’re going to be losing care that we provide for members of the undocumented community. I signed into law that we would take care of people over age 65 and people that have a new baby, moms for the first year,because I thought it was the right thing to do to take care of members of our undocumented community as well. They cut all of that money. They cut any assistance that we can provide for them, but also families that have been here, and especially people in nursing homes, that’s going to be hard.Most of the money for Medicaid is spent in nursing homes, taking care of our senior citizens who you can’t take care of at home anymore. So this is the real impact of this.” (Is she warning they will state killing people on nursing homes like Cuomo did?)

Host Alejandro Mendoza then asked, “Could we see something like we have seen in California where the governor had to cut services to some immigrants?”

Hochul responded, “I don’t want to go there. This is money that’s now been lost by the federal government —they used to help us pay for this. This is something we have to look at very seriously for how we can not leave these people without essential care. And that’s going to be a tough decision, but, as I said, I made sure our state law, which we are funding, covers senior citizens and new moms and their babies.”

A memo with talking points apparently went out to the leftwing media following Wednesday’s fiery Oval Office meeting between President Trump and the South African President.

During big news events, aphenomenon occurs where the leftwing media not only pushes the same narrative across every network, but in many cases, they read the same script. They would have us believe it’s a coincidence, but they’re clearly reading talking points, likely provided by the Democratic Party.

One example of this was after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went before the US Congress and demanded billions of dollars and weapons to continue his war with Russia. As The Gateway Pundit reported, Liberal hack reporters in unison began comparing Zelensky to Winston Churchill on every cable news channel.

This time, they were given the word “ambush.”

There’s a general rule of thumb in these United States: If you’re a member of a county or local school board and people around the country know your name, that’s so seldom a good sign.

County school board member? No. That means you’ve 1) been arrested or 2) gone bananas.

Credit, then, to Cabarrus County, North Carolina, School Board of Education member Pamela Escobar, who has not been arrested. (Not that I know of, anyhow.) No, we know her because of thefact that she flipped her lid over the fact a fellow member of the board wanted an invocation to open board meetings.

Escobar’s response, in a viral rant? “How much prayer do you need? How much God do you need?”

There are two obvious answers to this. First, as much as you can get. Second, if you disagree with the first, at least a little more, for this woman’s mental state, which does not seem so hot.

The clip, which started going viral a few weeks after the April 14 meeting at which it happened,involved a request from board member Melanie Freeman— who, as Fox News notes,ran with her Christian faith as a foregrounded element — that the meetings start with a prayer.

“From the very beginnings, when the Puritans touched ground in the new world, prayer has been the bedrock of this nation,” she says in the video.

“Today, our U.S. Congress begins each opening day with an invocation before reciting the Pledge of Allegiance … I respectfully make a motion to include an invocation to our agenda and meetings moving forward.”

Melanie Freeman has neither been arrested nor is crazy, so you can forget her name for the rest of this story.Let’s refocus, then, on Pamela Escobar, who was Not Happy™ with the suggestion.

“Talking about tradition — so, you saw this meeting tonight,” she said,visibly piqued. “It’s beautiful … if you looked at our audience, they don’t look like us.They look like this community. We are diverse. We come from 92 countries, we speak 67 languages.”

“If you put prayer at the beginning of this meeting, I don’t think that’s a welcoming sign to the people who are in this room tonight,” she continued. “Every child belongs, and I would not want to do anything that says to this community, ‘You don’t belong in our school district.'” I mean, except for ranting about Christians and their wacky prayer habits as weird, which she’s extremely willing to do.

“So this to me is very disturbing, because I think it sends the wrong message that we’re trying to communicate,” she said. “And frankly, we are not in the business of faith or religion!

“That’s not what we do. We teach. We empower, we inspire. And so, to do something that would be the opposite of that is disheartening.”

Yes, prayer is the opposite of teaching, empowering and inspiring to her. This just gets better and better.

“On top of it, this board prays. This board prays before every meeting if you choose to be part of it,” she said, citing a prayer group before meetings.

“How much prayer do you need? How much God do you need?”Escobar said. “This is exclusionary.”

“[School employees] come here to work. To dedicate their lives to children. They didn’t come here to pray with you,” she continued.

“If you want to pray with them, take them to church. You want to be evangelical and do that? Go for it. But not on my time, not on their time and not on this community’s time. We’re not in this business. This is not the time or the place. We’re better than that.”

If “this community” is like Pamela Escobar, oh no they’re not:According to Fox News, she spoke no less than four times to try to get the invocation off the agenda, including noting how offended she was and about the possibility of opening the district up to a lawsuit.

“I don’t need to participate in that, and I don’t think you need to make the entire school board join you in your prayer.And if you do, then you have to be prepared for people to sue us because they have the right to religious freedom,” she said.

“I don’t know why you need prayer to take this job seriously.”=

Apparently, the rest of the board did, because the motion passed 5-2 to draft a written policy regarding the invocation and then invite public comment — which Escobar will doubtlessly give plenty of.

Which is why, naturally, policies like this end up passing.
