TV presenter Robert Jensen dies of cardiac arrest at 52

Controversial Dutch TV and radio presenter Robert Jensen died of a heart attack on Monday at the age of 52.
Jensen’s team said on his website the presenter did not feel well over the weekend and checked into a hospital where he died on Monday night.
Jensen started out in regional radio and quickly stepped up to national fame via pirate radio station Radio Veronica. In 2002, he started his own talk show JENSEN! on now defunct commercial tv station Yorin, in which he interviewed celebrities such as Shakira and Jamie Oliver.
Jensen was no stranger to controversy, openly rowing with various Dutch celebrities, and developing a reputation for using crude language.
His presence on television had dwindled in the last few years but he was still active on social media and had his own podcast.
Jensen was also a voluble critic of the government’s coronavirus policy, saying Covid was “no more serious than a bout of flu”.

It is with enormous sadness that I learned today about the death at just 52 of Dutch freedom fighter Robert Jensen who gave up a lucrative career as a 'star' on Netherlands mainstream TV to expose the corrupt and crazy world that he by then realised it to be.
He interviewed me several times and was a friend, a great and unique character, hilariously funny, and I shall miss this genuine and lovely man. So will many, many others who loved his uniqueness and humour and his willingness to say what he thought without concern for image and reaction. Great loss.
