It seems to me that the attempt is to stop time or to return to the past.
I believe that the pyramids were driven by atomic reactors, contained in a golden ark. The Jews, as sacrificial slaves, operated the reactors. One day they stole an ark and escaped. With that energy they destroyed cities and dried up the Red Sea to cross it.
