Yet Ripper was made out to be a mass murdering loon. And yet again in another twist, by making Ripper the loony, kubrick might have bought himself those extra decades to make more good story telling.

I always thought Ripper WAS the most complex character in the film. All other characters where easy, but Ripper was wild in several directions.
Discernment is VERY natural…
