Fayette County Schools is spending over $739,152 in just salaries on their UBSE department, formerly known as their DEI department.
When Fayette County Schools realized schools were coming under scrutiny for their DEI programs, they renamed the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Department to UBSE (Unity, Belonging, & Student Efficacy). They proceeded to keep all the same programs and staffing in place.
In the UBSE Department:

Chief Officer is getting $163,000 a year plus a $33,500 additive, not mention other benefits.

4 Unity and Belonging "Specialists" getting on average $106,463 each.

All 73 Schools and programs can have a UBSE Lead that receives $1,600 a year.
This is not to mention the Affinity Groups such as:
Latinos Unidos Employee Affinity Group
LGBTQ+ Employee Affinity Group
Men Of Color Employee Affinity Group
Women Of Color Employee Affinity Group
These group meeting are often catered. Just one of these groups spent $623.70 at Jimmy Johns for one meeting.
The UBSE department just sent out an email to announce that FCPS would be participating in Lexington's Pride Parade and would have a booth at the event.
