Babies can't digest milk without Bifidobacterium,
The oligosaccharides in the milk can ONLY be digested by Bifidobacterium, we co-evolved with these bacteria, and one cannot survive without the other.
Antibiotics, and food preservatives have completely destroyed our natural, and essential, Biome, and its the reason for all the chronic illness we suffer.
L reuteri was found everywhere in the 1960's, everyone had it in their Biome, by 1980, only half the population had it, and by 2000 it was almost entirely absent from the population.
L reuteri occupies the small intestine, with L gasseri, also now absent, and this is essential to keep pathogens out, without, fecal bacteria move up the intestine, and causes all kinds of problems, which results in malabsorption of nutrients, which occurs mainly in the small intestine.
L reuteri is also found in the brain, lungs all the organs of the body, and is has the ability to produce neurotransmitters and hormones we need to combat infection. This is called the brain gut axis, and it's now been discovered that L reuteri can produce infection specific bacitracin's to fight of disease.
It also produces Oxytocin, the love hormone, and its absence is why everyone is getting so uptight .
