FBI Still Defending Undercover Agent Who Provoked Garland Shooting in Ongoing Appeal

'The unarmed, undercover FBI agent was in Garland as part of a sting operation against an unrelated person; he did not know where Simpson was; and his proximity to the shooting was, as the district court found, a coincidence…'

Posted by Ken Silva

June 27, 2025

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The 2015 ISIS-inspired shooting at a contest to draw the Prophet Muhammed in Garland, Texasremains one of the starkest examples of the FBI provoking a terrorist attack.

In that case,FBI informants had been monitoring the shooters for years, the bureau allowed one of them to purchase a weapon from a gun store involved in the Operation Fast & Furious scandal, and an undercover agent even encouraged the shooting by telling the attackers to “tear up Texas.”

Perhaps most damningly, the same undercover agent who provoked the shooters was at the “Draw the Prophet” event when the attack occurred. Then, when localcops detained the undercover agent because they thought he was one of the attackers, other FBI agents intervened immediately. They placed a hood over the undercover agent’s head and whisked him awayto another location before confiscating footage of the incident from bystanders.

Despite all those damning facts, the FBI continues to defend itself some 10 years later. In a brief filed weeks ago in an ongoing appeal, Justice Department prosecutors said the undercover FBI agent’s presence at the “Draw the Prophet” contest was a total coincidence.

The ongoing appeal is from Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem, whom the government says conspired with the shooters, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi, ahead of the attack.Much of the information about the FBI’s shady undercover activities was only revealed after Kareem was convicted in 2016, and he’s been seeking a new trial ever since then.

According to the DOJ’s March 26 brief, the undercover agent was at the Garland event as part of a sting operation against an “unrelated person.”

“The unarmed, undercover FBI agent was in Garland as part of a sting operation against an unrelated person; he did not know where Simpson was;and his proximity to the shooting was, as the district court found, a coincidence,” prosecutors argued.

Kareem’s current appeal doesn’t argue that his convictions should be overturned due to the undercover agent’s actions per se.Rather, his lawyers argue that the U.S. government violated his right to a fair trial by withholding exculpatory information, including about the undercover agent.

Moreover, the FBI continues tosuppress evidenceabout the Garland attack to this day, according to Kareem’s brief.

Information that the FBI has yet to produce includes documents about its investigation of Simpson in spring 2015; information on Simpson’s gun purchase in 2010and whether Soofi’s 2012 gun purchase was authorized by agents working the failed “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation; and more information on the attack and the undercover agent’s involvement in it, according to Kareem’s appeal brief.

Kareem’s lawyers and the DOJ are set to make oral arguments about the matter at an appeals hearing that’s yet to be scheduled. According to the court docket, the hearing could take place as soon as September.

Police raids target free speech across Germany

President Trump recently came back from the NATO summit where he celebrated the Alliance pledging to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP. Trump praised NATO members for their commitment, and said the summit was fantastic.

In return, this week Germany conducted early morning home raids on almost 200 people for 'hate speech' violations.

On Wednesday morning at 6 a.m., a large-scale police operation was launched across Germany, targeting hundreds of individuals suspected ofinsulting politicians or spreading “hate and incitement” online, reported Remix News.

The massive crackdown saw police launch morning raids against 170 individuals, which saw police seize computers, cell phones, and tablets, and conduct searches in multiple locations across the country.

The action, which was conducted by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA),uses the new Criminal Code Paragraph 188to target individuals accused of racism and hate speech.

North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister, Herbert Reul (CDU), who has overseen a massive increase in crime in his state in recent years — including violent crimes and knife crimes committed by foreigners — celebrated the police raids.

“Digital arsonists must not be able to hide behind their cell phones or computers,” he said.

His state conducted 14 of the approximately 130 nationwide cases in a “day of action” against so-called hate postings.

The Trump administration has tip-toed around Europe's slide into tyrannical darkness with a few comments from Vice President Vance, and Secretary of State Rubio.

It's time to call the EU what it is - the Fourth Reich. And, it's time to stop giving them weapons, and building their military capability.

This won't end well.

Russian MPs call for driverless taxis to replace migrants

Many cab drivers are working illegally, increasing safety risks for passengers, lawmakers have argued

Russian lawmakers have proposed expanding trials of driverless taxis across the country, arguing that themove would swiftly reduce the number of migrant drivers and improve passenger safety.

In a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Aleksey Nechayev, leader of the New People party, and Anton Tkachev, first deputy chair of the State Duma committee on information policy, pointed to the “impressive results” from existing tests of autonomous vehicles in Moscow, Tatarstan, central Russia, and the southern resort town of Sirius.

In light of this, the letter asked Mishustin to “accelerate the expansion of testing zones inMoscow itself and implement a phased launch of autonomous transportation in other Russian cities that are highly prepared for the experiment.”

The lawmakers argued that deploying driverless taxis nationwide could “quickly replace migrants with automated technologies and ensure a higher level of safety for citizens.” The letter noted that insome Russian cities, migrants make up 10-40% of taxi drivers. Lawmakers claimed many work illegally or outside labor regulations, posing risks to passengers. They warned that an increase in the number in migrant taxi drivers leads to more crime in taxis.

Earlier this month, Russia’s Transport Ministry said that fully autonomous taxis on city streets are likely to appear only after 2030. “We won’t rush here. We will refine all technological schemes to make it as safe as possible,” Deputy Minister Andrey Nikitin said.

Still, driverless taxis are already operating in limited forms. In 2023, Yandex launched a project involving AI-steered taxis in Moscow’s Yasenevo district, with the vehicles overseen by a safety driver on board.

Official figures show that since spring 2022, robotaxis have completed 80,000 trips in Sirius, 20,000 in Innopolis, Tatarstan, and 2,000 in Yasenevo. Over two and a half years of trials, driverless cars were involved in just 36 accidents, only two of which were caused by the automated systems themselves, according to Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development.

==EXCLUSIVE DOJ forced top lawyer to register as foreign agent for Burisma…but not Hunter Biden, bombshell files reveal+=

14:25 EDT 27 Jun 2025, updated 02:10 EDT 28 Jun 2025 By JOSH BOSWELL

Newly released government documents reveal the prominent lawyer who lobbied for allegedly corrupt Ukrainian energy firm Burismawas investigated by the Justice Department and forced to register as a foreign agent.

And the conservative think tank that obtained the records is convinced Hunter Biden, who sat on Burisma's board from 2014 to 2019,was let off the hook in the probe because of his last name.

The files were released this week under the Freedom of Information Act to conservative nonprofit The Oversight Project.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the think tank'spresident Mike Howell accused the DOJ of 'refusing to look at the obvious, that Hunter was a foreign agent'

'This document return shows this lawyer, John Buretta, was doing the same activity the [Hunter]was doing, and he had to register,' Howell said.

He added that he believes the only reason Hunter wasn't forced to register as a foreign agent too is'because he was the President's son, and it would be a massive embarrassment if the First Family had to register as foreign agents.'

The newly released documentsshow the DOJ determined as far back as 2022 that Burisma's former US lawyer, John Burettaof Cravath, Swaine & Moore, should have registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), because he was having meetings with top US government officials in 2016 trying to sway them in Burisma's favor.

FARA is designed to keep tabs on anyone attempting to influence US government officials or the American public on behalf of foreign governments or organizations.

Howell claims thatthe DOJ knew Hunter had been doing the same thingas Buretta – but failed to pursue him due to his last name.

'Special Counsel David Weiss tried to basically pardon Hunter by a plea deal, refusing to look at the obvious, that Hunter was a foreign agent,' Howell said.

'The government, to include the intelligence community, federal law enforcement, prosecutors and the White House, twisted itself into pretzels over a long period of time to avoid the obvious with the Biden family.'

The documents newly released by theDOJ include a June 1 2023 letter from the department's FARA Unit chief Jennifer Gellie to Buretta's attorneys, laying out why he was meant to register as a foreign agent.

Gellie's letter detailed how Buretta and his law firm Cravath were hired by Burisma in January 2016 'in connection with a possible investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and/or other United States governmental authorities'.

The letter said Buretta had 'three meetings with U.S. government officials in March 2016': Catherine Novelli, the Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment; Bruce Swartz, a Justice Department's Deputy Assistant Attorney General; and Amos Hochstein, the State Department's Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs.

According to Gellie, at each of the meetings Buretta encouraged the officials to take a more positive view of Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, who had been the subject of a US and UK corruption investigation.

Emails turned over to the Oversight Project along with the bombshell letter show that theJustice Department was investigating Buretta's failure to file under FARA from at least December 2022.

Buretta and Cravath were eventually forced to file, more than eight years after their meetings, in January 2024. In their filing they disclosed that Burisma paid them nearly $350,000 between March 2016 and August 2017.

Oversight Project president Howell told DailyMail.com that Hunter had done the same thing for Burisma as Buretta – that he was hired by the company and then met with US government officials, including his father, who was Vice President at the time, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

But despite what Howell described as the 'apples to apples' comparison, the DOJ did not ask Hunter to file as they did Buretta….

(Blinken and many others included)

Canada's Mark Carney derided online for vision of ‘Zionist Palestinian state’

The Canadian prime minister said a ‘Zionist Palestinian state’ was the solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney sparked confusion and derision with remarks he made during an interview at the Nato summit on Wednesday in which he said that “a Zionist Palestinian state” was needed to co-exist with Israel.

CNN's Christiane Amanpour asked Carney about his vision for peace in the Middle East, specifically concerning the issue of a Palestinian state, where its indigenous people can live in harmony and peace.

In response, Carney said that “in working on a path to a Palestinian state, living side by side in security with Israel…a Zionist Palestinian state if you will, that recognises the right of Israel to exist, not just to exist, but to prosper. We can’t have peace unless we move towards that.”

Many social media users, as well as non-governmental organisations in Canada, criticised the statement by Carney, which critics said implied that heessentially “wants Palestinians to adopt the political ideology of their oppressors”.

Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, a grassroots NGO in Canada that defines its mission as being “to enable Canadians of all backgrounds to promote justice, development and peace in the Middle East”, called Carney “dead wrong”.

Another Canada-based NGO, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), also shot back, saying thatCarney’s remarks are in direct contrast to Canada’s foreign policy, “which affirms the right to the creation of a sovereign, independent, viable, democratic, and territorially contiguous Palestinian state”.

In a long thread on the social media platform X, NCCM said that Carney’s remarks are “insulting” and continue a trend of ignoring Israel’s continuing war on Gaza, which several countries, as well as many international rights groups and experts, now qualify as genocide.

The fact that Carney mentioned a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine in the interview, but added that this Palestinian state should be a “Zionist” one, was interpreted by many on social media as “evil” and “bigoted”.

Many also argued that Carney demonstrated his commitment to Zionism, “just like many other Canadian PMs before him”.

Social media users did not differentiate between Carney’s remarks about a “Zionist Palestinian state” and his continuous support for Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza, which has killed over 56,000 people.

In May, shortly after Carney was elected Canada’s new prime minister, Canada co-signed a joint statementwith unusually strong language targeting Israel with its G7 allies, the UK and France, calling Gaza's suffering "intolerable" and Israel's minimal aid allotment "wholly inadequate".

Around the same time, the three countries threatenedIsrael with sanctions if it failed to stop its military operations in Gaza and immediately allow humanitarian aid to enter.

These recent moves could explain why so many on social media were shocked and outraged by the prime minister’s remarks, which, according to them, stemmed from "ignorance".

In May, four Canadians were part of a delegation with their European counterparts on a visit to the occupied West Bank when Israeli soldiers opened fire on them.

In response, Canada demanded a full investigation and an immediate explanation, calling it “totally unacceptable”. Israel said it “regrets the inconvenience”.

However, Canada did not take action against Israel in terms of sanctions or cutting trade ties with the country, even though there were many organisations as well as Canadian political parties calling on the country to do so.

Western media enabling Gaza genocide and rewriting history, say experts

As Israel’s war on Gaza intensifies and expands across the Middle East, media analysts and human rights advocates are raising concerns over the lack of international accountability and the role of Western news outlets in shaping public perception of the conflict.

At a panel hosted by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) in London on Saturday, experts accused mainstream Western media ofcontributing to the denial and distortion of atrocities unfolding in Gaza.

The Centre for Media Monitoring (CFMM) presentedfindings highlighting how often leading media organisations downplay or dismiss claims of genocide. Faisal Hanif, a media analyst at CFMM, said the BBC had shut down references to genocide in its Gaza coverage more than 100 times over the past year.

Omar al-Ghazzi, Associate Professor of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics, called the trend “a war on history.”He warned that the use of media narratives as future historical sources could shape how upcoming generations understand the events in Gaza.

In the End, Everyone Hated the Iranian Theocracy

33 Comments / June 26, 2025 Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness

It is hard even to digest the incredible train of events of the last few days in the Middle East.

Iran had been reduced to an anemic, performance-art missile attack on our base in Qatar—the last Parthian shot from a terrified regime, desperate for an out—and a ceasefire.

Iran would have been better off not launching such a ceremonial but ultimately humiliating proof of impotence.

Even worse for the theocracy, Iran’s temporary reprieve came from the now magnanimous but still hated Donald Trump.

So ends the creepy mystique of the supposedly indomitable terror state of Iran, the bane of the last seven American presidents over half a century.

For Supreme Leader Khamenei, it was hard to swallow that U.S. bombers got their permission to fly into Iranian airspace from the Israeli air force.

A good simile is that Trump put a pot of water on the stove, told Iran to jump in, put the lid over them, then smiled, turned up the heat—and will now let them stew.

As postbellum realities now simmer in Iran, the theocracy is left explaining the inexplicable to its humiliated military and shocked but soon-to-be-furious populace. All the regime’s blood-curdling rhetoric, apocalyptic threats against Israel, goose-stepping thugs, and shiny new missiles ended in less than nothing.

A trillion dollars and five decades’ worth of missiles and centrifuges are now up in smoke. That money might have otherwise saved Iranians from the impoverishment of the last fifty years.

How about the little Satan Israel, to which Iran for nearly 50 years promised extinction?

Israel had destroyed Iran’s expeditionary terrorists, Iran’s defenses, its nuclear viability, and the absurd mythology of Iranian military competence. And worse, Israel showed it could repeat all that destruction when and if it is necessary.

So, the most hated regime in the world crawled into the boiling pot because it looked around in vain for someone to void Trump’s ultimatum for a cease and desist.

But there were no last-minute saviors to rescue them.

The dreaded decades-long Iranian nuclear threat?

It is either gone for now, or if it resurfaces, it will be again far easier to vaporize at will than to rebuild a lost trillion-dollar investment.

Russia? Its former Obama-Kerry re-invitation back into the Middle East lasted only a decade.

It will now cut its losses like it did with the vanished Assad kleptocracy in Syria.Putin exits the Middle East not entirely displeased that his lunatic Iranian client did not get a bomb—but did get its just desserts. A tense Middle East tends to prop up Russian export oil prices.

Did China come to the mullahs’ aid?

No, they were not shy about ordering their Iranian lackey to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, through which 50 percent of Chinese-purchased oil passes.

For President Xi, the Iranians are treated as little more than Uyghurs with oil.

The world decided that it was tired of a half-century of crybully terrorism, empty nuke threats, mindless mobs screaming scripted banalities, cowardly murdering, and medieval theocrats threatening the general peace.

So, the world turned its back on Iran. And with a wink and nod, it let Israel and the U.S. do what they must.

As for Iran’s terrorist appendages, Hezbollah’s commanders are either dead, maimed, or in hiding.

Hamas has fled into a subterranean labyrinth.

The last Assad thug fled to Russia.

The crazy Houthis? They are reconsidering the idea of launching their last missile at the cost of their last port or power grid.

The anti-Trump Democrats and loony left?

Their talk of impeaching Trump for the supposedly “illegal” 35-minute, one-off strike will fade.

The Trump mission equaled less than one day of Obama’s predator drone strikes, targeted killings, or his five-year chaotic bombing in Libya.

Is the incoherent left furious that there is no more Iranian nuclear threat? Mad that no Americans were killed last Saturday night?Furious America likely killed few if any Iranians.

Or is it ragingbecause Trump ignored Iran’s last-gasp attack and instead orchestrated a cease-fire?

Of course, in the Middle East, there is never a real end to anything.

We may see freelancing terrorists try to fill the vacuum of Iran’s decline. Or Iran itself may try to let loose a terrorist cell. It may later boast it has hidden away some enriched uranium.

But no matter.

The dimensions of this new Middle East will persist.

The new reality is that either Israel or the U.S.—if they keep their earned confidence within proper limits—can now ensure a non-nuclear Iran by easily blowing up its costly nuclear program as often as it is rebuilt.

IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi Explains “Comprehensive Damage” to Iran Nuclear Ambitions

June 29, 2025 | Sundance |

Something lost amid the ‘western’ discussion of the issues with Iran and their nuclear ambitions, relates to the age of the current governing class of the Ayatollah and mullahs (assembly of experts). Ali Khamenei is 86-years old, in unknown current health conditionand has served as the Supreme Leader since 1989.

He issomewhat of a ‘wizard of oz’ like caricature in the system.

=Many people have begun to ponder if the reason why Iran refuses direct negotiations or contact with any foreign government, is related to the incapacity of Ali Khamenei. Is he technically in charge, or is he Bidenesque in capacity?

Within this interview, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, talks about the severity of the airstrikes carried out by the U.S and Israel, along with the consequential damage done to ability of Iran to continue developing nuclear weapons. WATCH:

Part of the interview, the man is very detailed

DIRECTOR GENERAL GROSSI: They- let me be clear here, because we said, first of all, something very, very important. They have all these capabilities, but for the agency, they- first of all, they didn’t have nuclear weapons. Okay? This needs to be said. One can have an assessment nationally that they were close, okay?

And I don’t get into that, because we, the IAEA, does not judge intentions.

The IAEA looks at the activities of a country and reports it to the world. So it is countries that- that say, well, this is of concern or not. What we were concerning- what-what I was concerned about is that there were other things that were not clear.

For example,we had found traces of uranium in some places in Iran, which were not the normal declared facilities. And we were asking for years, why did we find these traces of enriched uranium in place x, y or z? And we were simply not getting credible answers.

If there was material- where is this material? So there could be even more. We don’t know. This is why it is, I’m sorry I’m repeating it for the third time, I think we need to go back.

Chinese Company GE Moves Washer/Dryer Manufacturing to USA

June 28, 2025 | Sundance |

GE Appliances is a subsidiary of the Haier company, which is based in China. Most people do not know that.GE Appliances are Chinese appliances.

The recent headline about GE Appliances moving their production from China to the USA (Kentucky),is simply an outcome of the need for GE to avoid steel, aluminum and reciprocal trade tariffs. This is not complicated.

FOX NEWS – GE Appliances on Thursday said it would spend $490 million tomove the production of most of its washing machines from China to Kentucky.

The operation will move to the company’s massive industrial Appliance Park headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, where it already manufactures washers and dryers. At least 800 new full-time jobs are expected to be created, the company said in a news release.

“We are bringing laundry production to our global headquarters in Louisville because manufacturing in the U.S. isfundamental to our ‘zero-distance’ business strategyto make appliances as close as possible to our customers and consumers,” said GE Appliances president and CEO Kevin Nolan. “This decision is our most recent product reshoring and aligns with the current economic and policy environment.”

The investment will bring more than 15 washer models to Building 2 in Appliance Park at the company headquarters, bringing the total area of clothes care production to the equivalent of 33 football fields. (more)
