Federal Judge Issues New Nationwide Block Targeting Trump's Birthright Citizenship Order

A federal judge on Thursday has barred the Trump administration from enforcing the president’s executive order limiting birthright citizenship, coming weeks after the Supreme Court restricted the capacity of judges to issue nationwide injunctions.

U.S. District Judge Joseph LaPlante announced his decision after an hour-long hearing and said a written order will follow. The order will include a seven-day stay to allow for appeal, he said.

“That’s irreparable harm, citizenship alone,” he said in court, according to reporters in the courtroom, referring to American citizenship. “It is the greatest privilege that exists in the world.”

President Donald Trump in January issued the order ending automatic birthright citizenship to individuals born in the United States to parents who are illegal immigrants.

Multiple federal judges have issued injunctions against the order since it was issued, while the Supreme Court invalidated those previous court orders by ruling that lower courts cannot issue sweeping orders that block orders nationwide.

At issue is the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which says that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.”

The lawsuit, brought by the American Civil Liberties Union and other plaintiffs, had argued that the executive order violates the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment and runs afoul of decades of jurisprudence over how to handle birthright citizenship.

But lawyers for the Trump administration have argued that under that text, the United States can deny citizenship to children born of illegal immigrant women due to the line, “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”

“Prior misimpressions of the citizenship clause have created a perverse incentive for illegal immigration that has negatively impacted this country’s sovereignty, national security, and economic stability,” government lawyers said in court papers filed earlier this year, arguing on behalf of the Trump administration.

Pentagon Invests in Sole Operational Rare Earth Mine in the United States – Becomes Largest Investor

The Department of Defense (DoD) has agreed to buy $400 million worth of preferred stock from MP Materials, the only operational rare earth mine in the United States located just outside Mountain Pass, California. The investment will help MP Materials build a second magnet manufacturing facility, with construction beginning in 2028.

The investment would make the DoD the largest shareholder with around a 15% stake, eclipsing the previous lead shareholders; the current CEO James Litinsky (8.27%) and BlackRock Fund Advisors (8.27%). Additionally, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs will provide $1 billion in financing for the second facility.

As part of the deal, the DoD has ensured that “100% of the magnets made at the new facility, called 10x, are purchased by defense and commercial customers for 10 years after the plant is built,” according to NBC News.

Currently, the U.S. imports around 95% of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) it consumes, mainly from China. In April, China imposed restrictions on seven of the 17 REEs exported to the U.S. in response to President Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. Those restrictions eased up in July; however, the dependence on China for those materials is likely a motivation behind this investment.

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are a group of 17 metallic elements that are used for advanced military technologies, as they possess unique magnetic, luminescent, and electrochemical properties. These are critical components in modern guidance systems, precision-guided munitions, radar, and satellite systems.

For example, the F-35 requires an estimated 900 lbs of REEs for its manufacturing, while a Virginia-class submarine needs more than 9,000 lbs. According to FairObserver, even with the mining operation of MP Materials, the U.S. is still dependent on China for processing the ore extracted in Mountain Pass.

Through the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy, the Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Program directorate has embarked on a five-year rare earth investment strategy to build “mine-to-magnet” domestic capacity at all critical nodes of the rare earth supply chain. Those critical nodes include sourcing, separation, processing, metallization, alloying and magnet manufacturing.

The first of those critical nodes, the sourcing of rare earth elements, means mining rare earth elements out of the ground. Today in the U.S., there is only one rare earth mine currently active and selling to the commercial market.

Separation includes a series of processes that take out extractable rare earth elements from other elements and compounds in the mineral rock. Processing involves concentrating separated rare earth elements and then chemically treating them to produce high-purity rare earth oxides or rare earth salts. The metallization step transforms rare earth salts into rare earth metals. Depending on the application, those metals can be combined with various alloying elements to produce a variety of rare earth alloys.

Rare Earth Producer MP Materials Soars 50% After US Government Becomes Largest Shareholder

Late yesterday, we published an in depth note to our premium subs titled "The Coming Rare Earth Revolution And How To Profit: All You Need To Know About The Ex-China Supply Chain". Ir referenced a recent Morgan Stanley analysis of several early-stage Rare Earth Element projects, which also mapped how Western countries might source these critical minerals on their own, now that a belligerent China is to be excluded from supply chains as a result of Trump's trade war. And, in the Key Takeaways section, we specifically highlighted MP Materials as most likely to benefit, to wit: "MP Materials, Lynas, and ILU are best positioned to capitalize as REE trade flows and pricing adjust."

The timing turned out to be prescient, because just 7 hours later, the company announced that the US Department of Defense (i.e. the US government) would become the largest shareholder in MP Materials after agreeing to purchase $400 million in preferred stock. Shares have exploded over 50% on the news.

The investment marks a "transformational" public-private partnership by the Trump admin, aimed at building a domestic rare earth element supply chain. MP Materials, which owns the only operational rare earth mine in the U.S. at Mountain Pass, California, will use the funds to expand processing and magnet manufacturing capacity.

As part of the deal, the Pentagon will receive convertible preferred shares and warrants equal to a 15% stake—surpassing stakes held by CEO James Litinsky and BlackRock. The shares convert at $30.03 each and carry no cash dividend.

CNBC wrote that the investment will support a second U.S.-based magnet plant, “10X,” expected to begin commissioning in 2028. The Defense Department will guarantee the purchase of all output from the facility for 10 years and backstop pricing at $110/kg for NdPr products, a key material used in permanent magnets for military systems like F-35 jets, drones, and submarines.

The move reflects growing U.S. efforts to reduce reliance on China, which supplied roughly 70% of rare earth imports in 2023, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in April that the Trump administration is exploring direct equity investments to secure critical minerals.

Justice Department Reports to Court It Is Reviewing FBI/DOJ Epstein Records for Possible Release

Judicial Watch announced it filed a “joint status report” on July 7 in federal court reporting that the Justice Department and the FBI continue to search for and review records in response to Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records regarding Jeffrey Epstein. The lawsuit requests any records on the identities of clients or associates of Epstein. The Justice Department’s disclosure is at odds with the leaked, unsigned and undated Justice Department/FBI memo that suggests no more Epstein records would be disclosed to the American public. The memo was first disclosed late on July 6.

Judicial Watch sued the Justice Department and FBI in April 2025 after they failed to adequately respond to three separate FOIA requests for records filed in February 2025 concerning Epstein, including a specific request for records “depicting the identities of clients or associates of Epstein.” Epstein document requests were sent to the Justice Department’s Office of Information Policy, the Criminal Division, and two separate requests were sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) (Judicial Watch Inc. v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:25-cv-01056)).

‘FuckLAPD.com’ Lets Anyone Use Facial Recognition To Instantly Identify Cops

A free tool that allows anyone to upload a photo of an LAPD officer to get their name and badge number.

A new site, FuckLAPD.com, is using public records and facial recognition technology to allow anyone to identify police officers in Los Angeles they have a picture of. The tool, made by artist Kyle McDonald, is designed to help people identify cops who may otherwise try to conceal their identity, such as covering their badge or serial number.

“We deserve to know who is shooting us in the face even when they have their badge covered up,” McDonald told me when I asked if the site was made in response to police violence during the LA protests against ICE that started earlier this month. “fucklapd.com is a response to the violence of the LAPD during the recent protests against the horrific ICE raids. And more broadly—the failure of the LAPD to accomplish anything useful with over $2B in funding each year.”

“Cops covering up their badges? ID them with their faces instead,” the site, which McDonald said went live this Saturday. The tool allows users to upload an image of a police officer’s face to search over 9,000 LAPD headshots obtained via public record requests. The site says image processing happens on the device, and no photos or data are transmitted or saved on the site. “Blurry, low-resolution photos will not match,” the site says.

“fucklapd.com uses data provided by the City of Los Angeles directly to the public,” McDonald told me in an email. “This data has been provided in response to either public records requests or public records lawsuits. That means all of this information belongs to the public and is a matter of public record. fucklapd.com is not scraping any data.”

In addition to potentially identifying officers by name and serial number, FuckLAPD.com also pulls up a police officer’s salary.

“Surprisingly it [the domain name] only costs $10 a year to exercise my first amendment right to say fucklapd.com,” McDonald said.

I tested the tools by grabbing an image of a white and bald police officer from an LAPD press conference addressing its use of force during the anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles. I uploaded the image to the site, and within a few seconds the site presented me with nine headshots of officers who could be possible matches, all of them bald white men. The first correctly identified the cop in the image I uploaded.

Clicking “view profile” under the result sent me to the Watch the Watchers site by the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, a community group based in the Skid Row neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles. “All of the information on this website comes from records that were deliberately made public by the City of Los Angeles in response to either public records requests or public records lawsuits,” the Watch the Watchers site says. “We plan to keep refreshing this data from new public records requests as well as to add other data.” Stop LAPD Spying Coalition is not associated with FuckLAPD.com and did not endorse the site.

McDonald told me that since the site launched, it had around 50,000 visitors, but “Because the analysis happens on-device I have no way of knowing what people are using it for, except for some people who have posted screenshots to Twitter or Instagram,” he said.

Son Of Billionaire Linked To Epstein On Verge Of Taking Top Job In Trump Admin

The son of a billionaire linked to Jeffrey Epstein is pending confirmation for a major foreign aid position in the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump appointed Benjamin Black to be chief executive officer of the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which helps mobilize private capital to “advance U.S. foreign policy and strengthen national security.”

The nominee’s father, private equity firm Apollo Global Management co-founder Leon Black, was “friendly” with Epstein, paying him least $158 million for advice on tax issues, philanthropy, estate planning and other matters related to “the operation of the Family Office,” according to a 2021 report by the law firm Dechert LLP.

The report was commissioned by Apollo Global Management’s board of directors following New York Times reports of Black’s payments to Epstein. It found “no evidence that Black or any employee of the Family Office or Apollo was involved in any way with Epstein’s criminal activities at any time.”

The amount Black paid is likely $12 million higher than indicated in Dechert LLP’s report, Senate Finance Committee staff found in a review of federal government records and other evidence.

Democratic Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden sent a letter requesting documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Treasury Department “related to individuals, financial institutions, attorneys and agents that may have known about or facilitated the financing of Epstein’s illegal activities” in March.

“I am concerned that Attorney General Bondi’s February 27th release of documents related to the Epstein case failed to provide any meaningful new information, and that many of these documents were already in the public domain—similar concerns have been raised by Democrats and Republicans alike,” Wyden wrote. “It is crucial that your agencies provide the Committee with the requested documents in order to further its ongoing investigation, and to ensure that the Trump Department of Justice does not sweep any case against high profile individuals associated with Epstein’s activities under the rug.”

Leon Black also entered into a $62.5 million settlement with the U.S. Virgin Islands granting him immunity from any claims related to the Epstein sex trafficking investigation, the NYT reported in 2023. Epstein’s private Little St. James island in the U.S. Virgin Islands is where his alleged child sex trafficking operation took place.

The settlement should not be “taken as or construed to be an admission by Black of any liability or of any violation of any law,” the document states.

Benjamin Black has never been accused of ties to Epstein, and Leon Black has denied knowing about Epstein’s crimes and expressed regret about having any involvement with him.

Benjamin Black did not respond to a request for comment. The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and leadership of the Senate Committee on Finance did not respond to requests for comment.

Major Investment in IDF Infrastructure

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages about 20 construction projects in Israel, totaling $1.5 billion, per official documents and presentations. These projects build clinics, naval piers, unit headquarters, and ammunition storage sites. They also renovate runways, aircraft painting facilities, and infrastructure for the Israel Air Force’s Boeing KC-46 Pegasus tankers and CH-53K helicopters. A $900 million tender, set for release in July 2025, will fund new F-35 and F-15IA fighter jet squadrons.

Upgrades for Israel’s Air Force

Major projects enhance the Israel Air Force. Two contracts improve airbase runways and taxiways. A $100 million project builds infrastructure for Boeing KC-46 Pegasus tankers at Nevatim Airbase, a joint U.S.-Israel facility. A $250 million effort at Tel Nof Airbase supports 12 CH-53K helicopters with new hangars and storage. A $500 million project funds a new F-35 squadron, and $250 million backs F-15IA jet infrastructure.

The projects construct a new headquarters for Shayetet 13, the Israeli Navy’s elite commando unit, in Atlit. They also build ammunition bunkers at Hatzerim Airbase for $100 million and a $10 million “Hot Loading Pad” for explosives. Maintenance workshops for armored vehicles, called Tama 38 or Tama 58, receive upgrades with budgets up to $100 million.

Israeli prof. Shai Davidai quits Columbia, as university drops harassment investigation

A letter Davdai posted shows that Columbia closed the inquest on July 8, "without any findings or conclusions of wrongdoing and without imposing discipline or penalty."

Israeli Prof. Shai Davidai resigned from his post at Columbia Business School on the same day that he received a letter clearing him of harassment allegations.

On Wednesday, Davidai – an assistant professor of business at the university – posted a copy of a letter sent by the vice provost of Columbia telling him that the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) had closed its investigation into him.

The investigation began on February 8, 2024, after allegations were made about the Israeli professor. Columbia then suspended him temporarily after claiming he had “repeatedly harassed and intimidated university employees in violation of university policy.”

Few know that the case for Epstein and his human trafficking ring than indeed did have clients is on going.

Many of you may know about the USVI case brought on by the now fired AG.G. Denise George. They sued JPMorgan Chase for their role in facilitating Epstein’s sex ring.

There were TWO law suits against JPMorgan. The USVI suit was settled for $75 million.

The Esptein victims lawsuit (151 victims) was settled for $290 million.

What you may not know is that JPMorgan fired back. In their own suit they revealed that many Virgin Island government employees helps abet Epstein’s crimes. In addition to this Epstein victims sued many people of the USVI for their role in aiding his sex ring.

They say Bitcoin is anti-government, but it’s the perfect surveillance tool. Every transaction is public. Every wallet is traceable. Blockchain is bureaucracy’s favorite invention.

The identity behind Bitcoin’s creation remains unconfirmed. In October 2008, a white paper titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” appeared under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. The network went live in January 2009. While the name is Japanese, linguistic and posting analyses suggest Western origins. No government has ever publicly verified Nakamoto’s identity. Roughly 1,000,000 untouched coins linked to early mining are attributed to the creator, totaling over $55 billion in present-day value. These funds remain inactive, and no individual has proven authorship.

Despite popular framing as a privacy tool, Bitcoin is not anonymous. It is a transparent accounting system. Every transaction is recorded permanently on a public ledger accessible to anyone. Entities such as the Department of Justice, IRS, and DHS use forensic tracing firms like Chainalysis and Elliptic to map wallet activity, identify patterns, and match public keys to individuals. Over $12.6 billion in digital assets have been recovered and seized by U.S. agencies using blockchain forensics.

The government currently holds roughly 198,000 Bitcoin, now worth nearly $17 billion. That stake rivals the reserves of major sovereign wealth funds and exceeds the total capitalization of most publicly traded exchanges outside the G7. These coins were acquired through seizure, forfeiture, and asset recovery. They are tracked, custodied, and reallocated by the U.S. Marshals Service and Office of Forfeiture Management.

Bitcoin’s visibility lends itself to enforcement. Compliance teams can observe wallet movement in real time, link transactions to geolocation clusters, and request freezing of funds from regulated exchanges. Official Data: ‘Vaccines’ Caused Far More Deaths Than Covid

The Chosen People, the only democratic country in the Middle East by way of the world’s most moral army, is now planning a “humanitarian city” in the Gaza Strip. It makes no difference what Orwellian cellophane they are wrapping it in. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz are openly going ahead with plans to place Gazans in camps in preparation to transfer them out of the enclave.

The fact that Katz unveiled his “humanitarian city” plan for Rafah for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians locked down and under surveillance, with no option of leaving, as a humanitarian solution, is nothing more than a chilling distortion of language.

Netanyahu is promoting this twisted plan in Washington, where he explained while insulting the intelligence of the entire world that “it’s called free choice. If people want to stay, they can stay; but if they want to leave, they should be able to leave.” The prime minister added, without a shred of shame, that Gaza “shouldn’t be a prison. It should be an open place.”

Although this sounds like a parody of the idea of reconstruction, it’s not theoretical. Diplomatic sources say the move’s goal is to concentrate most of Gaza’s population in a closed city, provide them with humanitarian aid and “encourage” them to “voluntarily” immigrate. All of this is being coordinated with U.S. officials. Netanyahu even boasted that Israel and the U.S. are “getting close to finding several countries” to take the Gazans.

This isn’t a humanitarian solution but transfer. Only in a distorted reality can anyone speak about free will in connection with people who have spent the past 20 months under constant bombardment, while facing hunger and a lack of water, electricity and medicines. The reality is that it’ll be the war crime of the forced transfer of civilians, banned under international law.

The defense establishment is alarmed. In a highly charged discussion with the security cabinet, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir asked to halt the vote to clarify the implications, but Netanyahu firmly refused. “No way,” he said. “We’ve discussed it.” When the chief of staff asked whether the military would be required to control two million civilians, Netanyahu replied: “I’m bringing 10 D9s to prepare the humanitarian space.”
