It started in the 50s when Ed Sullivan had his Sunday Best TV Show. He mostly put on negro performers and didn't even shake the hands of Elvis Presley or the Beatles when they came on. All the black music artists like Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, and a lot more was because of his show. Then JFK introduced the Civil Rights Act but got assassinated before it was passed and signed so Lyndon B Johnson signed it in 1964. JFK also wanted to denuclearize (weaken) America, and stop research programs like the Manhattan Project.
