US congressman claims billionaire donors, intelligence ties behind resistance to releasing Epstein files

A US congressman suggested Sunday that the Trump administration is resisting a full release of the files on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to protect billionaire donors and possible intelligence connections.

"I think it's going to be embarrassing to some of the billionaires, some of the donors who are politically connected to his campaign," US Rep. Thomas Massie told ABC News when asked why President Donald Trump opposes complete disclosure.

The Kentucky Republican predicted that both parties would face exposure, noting that billionaires contribute to both Republicans and Democrats.

He also suggested possible intelligence agency involvement including the CIA and foreign intelligence, saying Americans would be "shocked" to learn their intelligence agencies worked with "a pedophile who was running a sex trafficking ring."

On House Speaker Mike Johnson's Friday claim that Trump served as an "FBI informant" in the Epstein case, Massie voiced skepticism. "I don't know if the speaker misspoke," Massie said, adding that while Trump provided helpful information to victims' lawyers in 2009, being an informant "implies some formal connection and ongoing relationship with the FBI."

Despite Senate Republican Leader John Thune's opposition, Massie expressed confidence that House passage of a bill to release the files would put pressure on the Senate to do the same.

The US House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Tuesday released more than 33,000 pages of records provided by the Justice Department. Democrats on the panel criticized the release as a pretense at transparency, as nearly all of the documents had already been made public.

Massie and Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California have introduced legislation requiring the Justice Department to release its Epstein records within 30 days. Massie also filed a discharge petition Tuesday to force a House vote.

Epstein, a disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, was found dead in his New York City jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial. Authorities ruled the death a suicide, a finding reaffirmed by the Justice Department in July, although many Americans, including large numbers of Trump supporters, continue to allege a cover-up.

Trump Gives DoD ‘Secondary’ Name as Department of War, Circumventing Congress

The Trump administration is now referring to the Pentagon as the Department of War, even though the name has not legally changed.

On Friday afternoon, President Donald Trump signed an executive order giving the Department of Defense the “secondary name” of the Department of War – a workaround for the fact that a formal name change requires an act of Congress. The order also authorizes Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to use the “secondary title” of secretary of war.

The change aligns with the administration’s fixation on “lethality” and a “warrior ethos,” and exemplifies the more aggressive military posture it has been taking, such as its legally questionable military strike on alleged drug smugglers in the Caribbean and deployment of troops to U.S. cities.

“We’re going Department of War,” Trump said during an Oval Office signing ceremony. “I think it's a much more appropriate name, especially in light of where the world is right now.”

“It really has to do with winning,” Trump added later. “We should have won every war. We could have won every war, but we really chose to be very politically correct or ‘wokey.’”

Standing alongside Trump, Hegseth said the name change signifies the department will focus on “maximum lethality, not tepid legality; violent effect, not politically correct.”

Almost immediately after the signing, the rebrand began. The defense.gov website redirected to war.gov; Hegseth’s handle on the social media site X changed to @SecWar; and officials swapped the placard on Hegseth’s office door with one with the secretary of war title.

Trump and his allies have framed the rebrand as a return to the Defense Department’s historical name, but the Department of War was not the same agency as the Pentagon.

The Department of War was, essentially, the Department of the Army.

The Department of War was established as a Cabinet agency shortly after the ratification of the Constitution in 1789. Nine years later, the Department of the Navy was established as its own Cabinet agency.

Updated Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Shots Contaminated with DNA Up to 627× Above Safety Limits

Peer-reviewed study finds all vials contained billions to hundreds of billions of DNA fragments — including SV40, Spike, and ORI.

A newly published peer-reviewed study by Dr. David J. Speicher, Dr. Jessica Rose and Kevin McKernan has confirmed that both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA injections are contaminated with residual plasmid DNA at levels up to 627-times higher than international regulatory safety limits. The contamination was not limited to older formulations—the bivalent and XBB.1.5 versions also contained DNA residues, proving the problem has NOT been corrected.

The study analyzed 32 vials representing 16 unique Pfizer and Moderna mRNA injection lots and found that every vial contained billions to hundreds of billions of DNA fragments, many encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles that act as delivery vehicles into human cells.

In Pfizer vials, investigators also detected SV40 promoter-enhancer sequences—potent genetic elements known for nuclear targeting and tumorigenic potential. Regulators set a hard ceiling of 10 ng of DNA per dose decades ago to prevent risks of insertional mutagenesis, cancer, and other genomic harms. These “vaccines” blew past those thresholds by orders of magnitude:

Moderna doses contained 1,130–6,280 ng of DNA per dose.

Fluorometry + RNase A Confirms Regulatory Breach

Using fluorometry coupled with RNase A digestion, all products exceeded FDA/WHO limits by 36–627-fold.

qPCR showed all Moderna vials within limits, but 3 Pfizer vials exceeded the 10 ng/dose limit for SV40 promoter-enhancer DNA, with much greater lot-to-lot variability.

qPCR underestimates total DNA because it misses smaller fragments—meaning true contamination is likely higher.

Fugitive father Tom Phillips shot dead in New Zealand

New Zealand fugitive Tom Phillips killed in shootout with police after four years on the run

New Zealand fugitive Tom Phillips has been shot dead by police during an attempted burglary in the Waikato region, according to his sister.

Police responded to reports of an alleged ram-raid carried out by Mr Phillips at a store in the town of Piopio early on Monday, local time.

A shoot-out then ensued, leaving one police officer in a critical condition and the suspect dead. Police said the man was given first aid but died at the scene.

Mr Phillips's death was confirmed to Radio New Zealand (RNZ) by his sister, Rozzi Phillips, but police are yet to formally identify him.

New Zealand Police Acting Deputy Commissioner Jill Rogers said the injured constable was shot in the head at close range before being airlifted to hospital and undergoing surgery.

She said a second officer fatally shot the suspect, who was armed with multiple firearms.

"It's a deeply traumatic incident for those involved … confronting and challenging in a small rural, isolated town," Deputy Commissioner Rogers told media on Monday.

RNZ reported the incident occurred at a farming supply store in Piopio. The town is near an area that authorities had been scouring as part of the search for Mr Phillips since his disappearance from his hometown of Marokopa nearly four years ago.

The father fled into bushland in Waikato, in New Zealand's Upper North Island, in December 2021 with his three children — Ember, now aged 9, Maverick, 10, and Jayda, 12.

Deputy Commissioner Rogers said one of the girls was with Mr Phillips on Monday morning and had been taken into custody and was getting wraparound support.
