The brutal killing of Iryna Zarutska (Ukrainian refugee) on a commuter train in North Carolina highlights not only the willingness of leftist corporate media to cover up news stories that jeopardize their woke narratives but also the broader failure of so-called criminal justice reform, which appears to have shockingly backfired and become a major public safety threat. Adding to the mounting outrage, a leftist magistrate judge released the schizophrenic monster on cashless bail (before he killed Zarutska) - another failure point. And then there's this: far-left nonprofits accelerated the push for disastrous criminal justice reforms.

But the failures don't stop with local leftist politicians and rogue progressive judges (or magistrate judges) who embrace woke and enabled criminal justice reform from hell. They extend much deeper - into the shadowy world of the dark-money-funded nonprofit industrial complex, which poured millions of dollars into Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to push for "reducing the jail population."

Nepal’s main government building set ablaze

A massive blaze has engulfed Nepal’s Singha Durbar Palace in central Kathmandu, the country’s main administrative complex, after violent protests swept the Himalayan nation’s capital.

Footage circulating online shows the building being consumed by flames. The palace, built in 1908, serves as the seat of Nepal’s government, hosting several ministries, and other key institutions.

The demonstrations, led mainly by people in their late teens and early 20s, erupted on Monday after authorities banned major social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, and X.

The protests turned violent, with dozens confirmed dead in Kathmandu and about 500 injured, including more than 100 police officers.

On Tuesday, demonstrators reportedly broke through the western gates of the Singha Durbar, forcing their way into the restricted area and setting parts of the entrance on fire. Witnesses reported heavy clashes with security forces as the crowd advanced inside, according to several media outlets.

Other footage shared online showed Nepal’s parliament building also ablaze, with charred walls, smoke billowing into the sky, and fires still burning as large crowds gathered outside.

A NSW man's legal team will tell the High Court a child's alleged "sexual experience" should have been revealed to a jury that convicted him.

The man was convicted of abusing the child, who was in foster care, between the ages of six and nine.

A paedophile who sexually abused a young girl in foster care is seeking to quash his conviction, arguing the child's alleged "sexual experience" should have been revealed to the jury.

The man, who can only be referred to as WHS, is on parole after serving a prison term for the sexual abuse which occurred between 2009 and 2012.

WHS's legal team lodged written submissions to the court, ahead of the appeal hearing in the High Court on Wednesday, which said the child's sexual history was previously incorrectly deemed inadmissible.

The offences occurred while the girl, who was aged between six and nine, was in foster care between 2009 and 2012.

WHS was found guilty in his first trial in Newcastle District Court in 2014 of seven out of eight child sexual abuse offences.

He was sentenced to 14 years and six months jail, with a non-parole period of 10 years and 10 months.

A jury found the girl was sexually abused in several suburbs south of Newcastle.

The court heard she was placed into the foster care of WHS's partner in 2005.

WHS later married that partner.
