Have you never lost someone you loved and looked at them in a casket?

They had to embalm him. He was given the highest honor to lye in repost in the capital!

He will not be a rotting corpse for that.

When all the blood is removed, everyone's skin gets much lighter in color.

One of the jobs of a mortician is to employ makeup to the body

It is very hard to make a corpse have the natural look it had when the person is alive.

YW.

I lost my dad a few months ago, and we had the mortician rework his face to make it look a little more like him.

It ended up being no where near what he looked like. But we didn't want to make him take it all off and start over. It became acceptable and that was fine.
