Prince Andrew could be 'destroyed' by a cache of more than 100 secret emails contained in the Epstein Files, The Mail on Sunday has been told.

 

Multiple well-placed sources have revealed that potentially 'incriminating' emails between the Duke of York and the convicted paedophile are contained in hundreds of thousands of documents currently being reviewed by the US Congress before they are made public.

 

One source said: 'If you think what's happened to Peter Mandelson is bad then you have no idea what will happen when the Andrew emails are released. They are embarrassing and incriminating and he could be destroyed.'

 

Lord Mandelson was fired as British ambassador to Washington last week after a string of embarrassing emails between himself and Epstein were released.

 

In one, 'Petie' urged the billionaire to fight back against his conviction for soliciting a child for prostitution.

 

David Boies, the high-powered lawyer who represented Andrew's accuser Virginia Giuffre, says he believes there is enough evidence to open a criminal investigation into the prince.

 

Andrew vehemently and consistently denied Ms Giuffre's claims that she was sex-trafficked to him by Epstein.

 

In 2022, the duke reached a reported £12 million civil settlement with Ms Giuffre – who committed suicide earlier this year – with no admission of guilt.

A South Carolina college has suspended a member of its faculty for posting offensive remarks about the killing of Charlie Kirk in Utah this week.

In a statement emailed to the Daily Beast, Clemson University confirmed Saturday that “effective immediately, an employee has been suspended pending further investigation into social media posts.” The college added that “a full review is underway of the employee social media activity that has been brought to our attention in relation to the recent incident,” and that “each case is being evaluated individually and thoroughly to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

The college did not identify the member of staff.

The suspension comes as Clemson faces mounting public backlash after Melvin Earl Villaver Jr, an assistant professor of audio technology and global black studies, reportedly shared a variety of online posts that ridiculed Kirk’s assassination.

Clemson University is an American public, coeducational, land-grant, sea-grant, research university located in Clemson, South Carolina.

Two other faculty members are alleged to have been “spouting EGREGIOUS hate” about Kirk’s death, per an X post from Clemson College Republicans.

The United States Agency for International Development and the CIA funded the 2019 impeachment effortagainst President Donald Trump, according to investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger.

 

Shellenberger took to social media Wednesday night to explain his findings.

 

"USAID's defenders say it's about charity and development in poor nations. It's not. It's a $40 billion driver of regime change abroad. And now the evidence suggests that it, along with the CIA, were behind the 2019 impeachment of Trump — an illegal regime change effort at home," Shellenberger posted on X with an image of his Substack "Public" story.

 

Shellenberger then posted a video and transcript detailing his findings surrounding the December 2019 impeachment that stemmed from a White House whistleblower claiming Trump abused his powers by withholding military aid to Ukraine in order to dig up dirt on his rival, former President Joe Biden.

 

The whistleblower claimed to have heard from White House staff that Trump directed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to work with his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to investigate Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

 

"The whistleblower who triggered the impeachment was a CIA analyst who was first brought into the White House by the Obama administration," Shellenberger said in the interview.

 

"Reporting by Drop Site News last year revealed that the CIA analyst relied on reporting by a supposedly independent investigative news organization called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, which appears to have effectively operated as an arm of the United States Agency for International Development, which President Trump has just shut down. The CIA whistleblower complaint cited a long report by OCCRP four times."

 

The OCCRP report alleged that two Soviet-born Florida businessmen were "key hidden actors behind a plan" by Trump to investigate the Bidens, and the businessman connected Giuliani to two former Ukrainian prosecutors.

 

In a 2024 documentary by German TV network NDR, a USAID official confirmed that the agency approves OCCRP's "annual work plan" and approves new hires of "key personnel."

 

French investigative news organization Mediapart, which took part in the documentary, reported that NDR censored the broadcast "after U.S. journalist Drew Sullivan, the co-founder and head of the OCCRP, placed pressure on the NDR management and made false accusations against the broadcaster's journalists involved in the project."

 

Shellenberger went on to say that Sullivan told NDR that OCCRP had "probably been responsible for five or six countries changing over from one government to another government … and getting prime ministers indicted or thrown out."

 

"As such, it appears that CIA, USAID, and OCCRP were all involved in the impeachment of President Trump in ways similar to the regime change operations that all three organizations engage in abroad," Shellenberger said. "The difference is that it is highly illegal and even treasonous for CIA, USAID, and its contractors and intermediaries, known as 'cut-outs,' to interfere in U.S. politics this way."

 

Shellenberger said OCCRP threatened to file a lawsuit against Shellenberger's Public in response to questions sent to the organization, though he added that "neither OCCRP nor anyone else disproved Drop Site's allegations and Drop Site stands by them."

 

"And the evidence does not support OCCRP's claim of journalistic independence," Shellenberger said.

California Passes Law Banning ICE Officers From Wearing Masks

 

The bill, SB-627, bans any law enforcement officer or agent from wearing a "facial covering that conceals or obscures their facial identity in the performance of their duties," with exceptions for motorcycle helmets and SWAT officers, along with N-95 masks for COVID-19.

 

Assuming it's signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), violators could face either a fine or charged with a misdemeanor.

 

The bill also strips law enforcement officers from qualified immunity for officer and agents who commit "assault, battery, false imprisonment, false arrest, abuse of process, or malicious prosecution" while wearing a mask, and could face a fine up to $10,000.

 

The bill applies to federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel throughout the state - so criminals seeking revenge will have a wide swath of cops to target.

 

"The ICE masked secret police are raining terror on communities across California, and it has to stop. Law enforcement should never be easily confused with the guy in the ski mask robbing a liquor store, yet that’s what’s happening with ICE’s extreme masking behavior," Sen. Scott Wiener (D-generate), the bill's leading sponsor, wrote.

 

"They should be proud to show their faces and provide identifying information in the course of duty."

 

The agencies have hit back - saying that masking prevents members of law enforcement and their families from being harassed.

 

"ICE law enforcement officers wear masks to prevent doxing, which can (and has) placed them and their families at risk. All ICE law enforcement officers carry badges and credentials and will identify themselves when required for public safety or legal necessity," the agency wrote on its website in the FAQ area.

 

ICE is responsible for heading up the apprehension, prosecution and removal of illegal immigrants from the United States.

 

That said, the bill may be unconstitutional - after the Supreme Court held in a 2012 case (Arizona v. United States) that states cannot regulate federal immigration law enforcement. Yet, the word "immigration" is not mentioned in the text of the bill, which applies to all law enforcement activity.

 

The bill was approved by a 2/3 majority in the California Senate and a simple majority in the lower House.

“A real ‘sleazebag’” and “bad person.” Someone who “probably hates America.” The latest target of Donald Trump’s insults, however, is the very same whom he once credited with what he would later call “one of the greatest achievements” of his presidency.

 

“We’re going to have great judges, conservative, all picked by the Federalist Society,” Trump promised during his first campaign in 2016. It was the result of a meeting in March 2016 with Leonard Leo, then the executive vice president of the Federalist Society, a conservative organization that advocates for legal originalism.

 

True to his promise, Trump would go on to consult Leo for judicial nominations, including his three Supreme Court picks.

 

“What we’re doing with the courts, I think, is going to go down as one of the greatest achievements,” Trump said during his first term.

 

But on Thursday, Trump had changed his tune.

 

“I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I use The Federalist Society as a recommending source on Judges,” he posted on his social media platform Truth Social. “I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb of a real ‘sleazebag’ named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions. He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court—I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is! In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own ‘thing.’ I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations. This is something that cannot be forgotten! With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others.”

Trump’s rant came after a federal three-judge panel ruled that he didn’t have the authority to impose most of the tariffs he’d announced so far in his second term, a key part of his economic agenda and promise to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.

 

Leo, in response, offered a less combative response. “I’m very grateful for President Trump transforming the Federal Courts, and it was a privilege being involved,” he said in a statement. “There’s more work to be done, for sure, but the Federal Judiciary is better than it’s ever been in modern history, and that will be President Trump’s most important legacy.”

 

Here’s what to know about Leo and the Federalist Society—and their falling out with Trump.

What is the Federalist Society?

 

Founded in 1982 by a group of law school students as a pro-originalism organization for law students, the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies has been described as “the single most influential advocacy organization in Washington.”

 

The organization—which counts over 90,000 lawyers, law students, scholars, and others among its members—describes itself as “a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of the legal order.” But that puts it mildly: the organization, especially under Leo’s leadership, has been credited with creating a “pipeline,” utilizing its vast network, for conservative law students to make their way into positions of influence—ideally, all the way up to the Supreme Court.

 

A 2023 study showed that, in the current confirmation process, a judicial nominee’s affiliation with the Federalist Society increased the probability of a successful Senate confirmation by around 20%. In 2021, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D, R.I.) flagged that 86% of Trump’s Supreme Court or appellate court nominees were or are members of the group. Six of the nine sitting Supreme Court justices—Chief Justice John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett—are linked to the Federalist Society, particularly through Leo.

Who is Leonard Leo?

ProPublica described the Federalist Society as part of “a machine that remade the American legal system.” It described Leo as the man who “built” that machine.

 

The conservative legal activist joined the Federalist Society in 1989, when he started a student chapter of the organization while studying law in Cornell. For many years, he served as executive vice president of the organization until he stepped back in 2020, though he remains co-chair of its board of directors.

 

Leo’s most significant and long-lasting impact is probably his work related to the makeup of the Supreme Court. In 1990, before he even began officially working for the Federalist Society, as a 25-year-old clerk for a U.S. Court of Appeals judge in Washington, he met then-appellate judge Thomas, whom he befriended and helped through his Supreme Court confirmation in 1991. During the George W. Bush Administration, Leo organized efforts to lobby for the nominations of Roberts and Alito. And during Trump’s first term, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett were all selected from a list reportedly “personally curated” by Leo.

 

But the Federalist Society isn’t the only powerful organization Leo has championed. “The network of increasingly influential conservative groups that Leonard A. Leo has helped to create and shape is not easily defined or quantified,” the New York Times reported in 2022. Many of those groups have funding sources that have been difficult to trace and have funnelled billions of dollars to conservative causes, including groups that had been preparing for Trump’s second term.

 

Why did Trump sour on Leonard Leo?

Politico reported that the relationship between Leo and Trump became strained when the three conservative justices Trump appointed to the Supreme Court on Leo’s advice “did not intervene to keep Trump in office after he lost the 2020 presidential election.”

 

Leo, however, has generally refrained from publicly criticizing Trump—and the Federalist Society has reportedly appeared “ambivalent” about Trump’s second-term Administration so far, compared to its enthusiasm during his first—though Trump’s tariffs appear to be a major breaking point.

 

In April, the New Civil Liberties Alliance, a group affiliated with Leo, mounted a legal challenge against levies imposed on Chinese imports, arguing that the President misapplied the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) cited to order the tariffs.

 

While that case remains ongoing, the U.S. Court of International Trade found that Trump misused the same presidential authority in a ruling this week on separate tariff cases.

 

Trump’s social-media outburst against the judges on that court and against Leo and the Federalist Society came as his Administration has increasingly challenged the authority of the judicial branch to rein in his powers.

 

Still, the President may be relying on Leo’s greatest accomplishment to ultimately push his agenda through.

“Hopefully,” Trump added in his social media post, “the Supreme Court will reverse this horrible, Country threatening decision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY.”

President Donald Trump has sharply criticized an influential conservative legal group and its former executive vice president Leonard Leo, blaming them for court rulings that blocked his sweeping tariff agenda.

 

Trump said that when he was new to Washington, D.C, he was advised to take advice from the Federalist Society in picking judges.

 

"I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb of a real 'sleazebag' named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

 

Newsweek has contacted the Federalist Society to seek comment from Leo, who is now listed as a co-chairman of the board, via email on Friday, outside of regular working hours.

 

Why It Matters

Trump's comments reflect his growing frustration with the judiciary, which has continued to pose legal obstacles to parts of his agenda.

 

With narrow Republican control of both the Senate and the House, federal judges have blocked several of his policies, prompting the president to often sharply attack them.

Children’s face painter among those rounded up in blitz on alleged paedophiles

 

A children’s face painter accused of uploading more than a dozen images of child abuse is among nine accused paedophiles rounded up in secretive raids by federal police across Sydney.

Others picked up by the Australian Federal Police over the past fortnight include an IT worker who allegedly posed as a girl to solicit nude photos from teenage boys, a man accused of paying three times to watch children being sexually abused overseas, and another man accused of administering a group chat focused on child abuse material.

 

The Australian Federal Police have spent a fortnight executing 15 search warrants and laying 30 charges across Sydney, the Central Coast and the Southern Highlands under Operation Titan.

Titan’s officers hauled nine people into custody across two weeks of raids, seizing more than 50 electronic devices in the process.

In the city’s west, 34-year-old Cranebrook woman Jesse Kristal Hopkins is facing three charges including possessing and transmitting child abuse material.

Police allege she uploaded 14 files to a social media platform and received 100 illicit videos and images over a messaging application.

Hopkins had held a working with children’s check, which expired last year, and worked as a face painter in children’s entertainment, sources with knowledge of the investigation say.

She faced Penrith Local Court before being released on bail. She must stay away from schools and cannot be alone with any child while on bail.

Also granted bail was Donato Grigorio, 35, from popular Southern Highlands town Moss Vale. He was arrested on August 28, charged with transmitting indecent messages to a person under the age of 16.

Police allege he had sexualised conversations with two girls in the Philippines. He will return to court on September 16.

On the Gregorian date of Oct. 7, the only memorial will be one organized by KUMI, a nonprofit led by Yonatan Shamriz, whose brother Alon was killed by Israeli fire alongside hostages Yotam Haim and Samer Talalka.

The evening ceremony on Oct. 7, scheduled for 9:30 p.m., will feature an extensive lineup of Israeli performers, all volunteering to participate. The preamble briefly discusses Cossack history, their Khazar and Roxolani origin mythos, the rise of the Zaporizhian Sich and its downfall when after under Bohdan Khmelnytsky it rebelled against the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and ended up serving Imperial Russia.
