Trump Admin Backs Condemnation of Israel’s Qatar Strike at UN Security Council.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously condemned an Israeli strike on a residential compound in Doha, Qatar that targeted senior Hamas figures. The council’s statement—supported by all 15 members, including the United States, did not explicitly name Israel, but made clear its objections to the strike.In an emergency session, Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al‑Thani said, “Israel, led by blusterous extremists, has gone beyond any borders, any limitations when it comes to behaviour. 60 Hours: Berlin Suffers Longest Power Cut Since WW2 After Ultra-Leftist Sabotage

A radical left group claimed responsibility for the destruction of power lines that left 50,000 homes and many businesses without electricity in Berlin for two and a half days, with repairs expected to take until 2026.

A manifesto confession posted on a notorious hard left message board called electricity the primary means of support for the political system, and depriving thousands of people of power for days justifiable collateral damage.

50,000 homes in south-east Berlin and thousands of businesses woke up to a power cut on Tuesday this week so severe it took 60 hours for the energy company to get all residents back onto a stable temporary supply. This is now working well, the city says, but the work to make permanent repairs will be so great they will take months and may not be completed until 2026.

The power cut is the longest experienced in Berlin since the Second World War. “The teacher has been relieved of all teaching responsibilities pending the outcome of the investigation and will not be at the school,” she added. "I also want to assure you that our top priority is supporting students. In recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity of the threat of foreign interference. The ability of persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States to interfere in or undermine public confidence in United States elections, including through the unauthorized accessing of election and campaign infrastructure or the covert distribution of propaganda and disinformation, continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. For this reason, the national emergency declared on September 12, 2018, must continue in effect beyond September 12, 2025. Egypt discovers Israeli assassination plot of Hamas leaders in Cairo: Report

Israel unsuccessfully targeted Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya in the Qatari capital last week

“Intelligence reports suggest that Israel has been plotting to assassinate Hamas leaders in Cairo for some time, as Egypt had already foiled an earlier attempt during ceasefire negotiations in the city over the past two years,” a high-level security source told the London-based outlet.

Earlier this week, Israeli air strikes hit residential buildings in Doha, the Qatari capital, targeting Hamas’ political leadership.

The Israeli strike targeted senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya and others as they met in Doha to discuss the latest US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hayya’s son and four other lower-ranking Hamas members were killed. However, Hayya and other senior officials survived.

A Qatari security force member was also killed in Israel’s illegal attack.

“Any attempt on the lives of Hamas leaders on Egyptian soil would be considered by Egypt as a violation of its sovereignty and, accordingly, a declaration of war by Israel, which we would not hesitate to retaliate against,” stated a security source speaking with MEE.

“But Egypt sees itself as the most strategic Arab country, and any Israeli strike on its soil would be seen as a form of humiliation. It would undermine Egypt’s prestige and jeopardize the regional status it has been trying to preserve despite Doha being more influential in the peace talks over the past months,” the source added.

After the strike on Qatar, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly threatened to assassinate Hamas members in other countries as well.

“I say to Qatar and all nations who harbour terrorists, you either expel them or you bring them to justice — because if you don’t, we will,” he said.

Qatari officials were angered by the strike in Doha, saying that the US and Israel had requested the Gulf nation host Hamas officials in an effort to monitor their activities.

Netanyahu has stated that he requested that Qatar pay billions to Hamas in recent years in an effort to prop up the group. He argued that keeping Palestinians politically divided between Hamas in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the occupied West Bank would help prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Qatar has been the primary intermediary in ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas, with Mossad chief David Barnea making regular visits to Doha since the start of the war in Gaza in 2023.

Grocery retail giant to lay off nearly 1,000 employees

Kroger, the Cincinnati-based grocery chain, is laying off almost 1,000 corporate employees as part of an ongoing restructuring effort, multiple media sites have reported.

"More than 10% of Gaza's 2.2 million population have been killed or injured — more than 200,000 people," say General Herzi Halevi.

Herzi Halevi, the former chief of staff of the Israeli army, has admitted that Israeli military killed or wounded more than 200,000 Palestinians since Israel's genocide in Gaza began.

Speaking to residents of Ein HaBesor in southern Israel, Halevi said, "More than 10 percent of Gaza's 2.2 million population have been killed or injured — more than 200,000 people."

A recording of his remarks was published by the Ynet news website.

Halevi stepped down from the top military position in March this year after leading the Israeli army for the first 17 months of the genocide.

"This isn't a gentle war. We took the gloves off from the first minute. Sadly not earlier," he said, suggesting that Tel Aviv should have acted more decisively before Hamas' October 2023 blitz on southern Israel's settlements and military sites that were once Arab hamlets and farms.

The figures Halevi cited are close to those reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry, which the Israeli authorities often dismiss.

The ministry currently reports 64,756 Palestinians killed and more than 163,859 wounded since the genocide began, though those figures may be undercounted as a result of the war's logistical constraints.

Thousands more are feared buried beneath rubble.

Experts contend that the actual death toll significantly exceeds what the Gaza authorities have reported, estimating it could be around 200,000.

Israeli air strikes in the last 24 hours alone have reportedly killed at least 65 Palestinians, mostly in Gaza City, many of whom were unable to move south.

Halevi also addressed the role of military lawyers during Israel's genocidal campaign in Gaza.

"Not once has anyone restricted me. Not once. Not the military AG [advocate general Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi] who, by the way, hasn't the authority to restrict me," he said.

He emphasised that legal advice had not influenced operational decisions, a point that contrasts with repeated claims by Israeli officials that military lawyers guide actions to comply with international law.

He also acknowledged the practical role of legal advisers in defending the Israeli military's actions internationally.

"There are legal advisers who say: We will know how to defend this legally in the world, and this is very important for the state of Israel," he said.

Halevi's remarks suggest that while legal counsel exists, its influence on military conduct is limited.

Ansari’s comments came a day before the Qatari prime minister was hosted by US President Donald Trump as the pair were set to discuss the latest escalation in the conflict, the ongoing hostage crisis, and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that “tough discussions to be had” with the US over the Israeli strike and added that the Jewish state may now be seen as a threat.

“The common wisdom was that this threat would be Iran, and obviously, now that perception is 180 degrees on the other side, where the main threat is going to be Israel,” he said.

“Now we have to have a very clear discussion with the US over this new threat perception and what to do with it — what does Israeli military supremacy mean for all of us when Israel can basicall,y at will, without consulting the US, bomb capitals in the region?”

Ansari was particularly critical of the disparity in military weapons across the region, claiming that Israel’s military supremacy was a contentious point.

“The radar system in Qatar is the most advanced in the region,” Ansari said. “It has a 5,000km radius, and it was used actually by some of our neighbours to protect against Iranian missiles in the past escalations.

“We trust our radar systems … however, again, it’s with the supremacy that the Israeli military enjoys over all of us in the region that has been put in the hands of a madman.”

“The whole security arrangement in our region as a whole — not only for Qatar — was based on the ability of the United States to act as a security guarantor and deterrent to any force that wanted to destabilise the GCC [Gulf Co-operation Council] countries,” Ansari added.

The official asserted that Doha would pursue a legal response to Israel.

“We will continue pushing until Netanyahu is held accountable,” he said. “The Israelis have to understand that Netanyahu is driving Israel to become a pariah rogue state.”
