Teachers should be paid by their students, say 3% of their income for 20 years, negative if they go to jail or cop out. Politicians should be paid the same way and make bribes illegal again.

Threatening voters who support an opposition candidate is a federal crime under U.S. law. The relevant statute is:

18 U.S. Code § 594 – Intimidation of Voters

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/594

This law makes it illegal to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person with the intent to interfere with their right to vote or to influence their vote for or against a candidate. Specifically, it states:

“Whoever intimidates, threatens, coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose… shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.” — Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute

This applies to elections for federal offices such as President, Vice President, Senators, and Representatives.

Additional Statute:

18 U.S. Code § 610 – Coercion of Political Activity

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/610

This statute prohibits coercing federal employees into political activity, including voting or not voting for a candidate. While more specific to federal employees, it reinforces the broader principle that coercion in political participation is unlawful.
