Judge Rules Against Sanctuary Cities, Will Not Stop Trump from Cutting Off Federal Funds

A federal judge ruled against two sanctuary cities this week, ensuring President Donald Trump can move forward with blocking certain Department of Justice (DOJ) grants to such jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Earlier this year,Trump signed two executive orders, both designed to get sanctuary cities to cooperate with ICE as they enforce federal immigration law — or risk losing certain federal funds.

Soon after Trump signed the executive orders, the sanctuary cities of Chelsea and Somerville, Massachusetts, filed a lawsuit claiming they would suffer irreparable harm if the orders took effect.

On Thursday,Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton sided with the Trump administration and against the sanctuary cities.

“This Court acknowledges the nuances and complex relationships that characterize the administration of municipalities and how they prioritize constituent services,” Gorton writes in his ruling:

Those complexities notwithstanding, the Cities still bear the burden of demonstrating to this Court how it is not just possible, but likely, that without injunctive relief, they will suffer imminent and irreparable harm. Plaintiffs have not done so. [Emphasis added]

For the foregoing reasons, plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary injunction against defendants is DENIED. [Emphasis added]

Dale Wilcox with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which filed a brief in the case,said sanctuary cities continue to refuse to cooperate with ICE and have sought out the courts in an attempt to block Trump’s fierce immigration agenda.

In this case, Wilcox said, that initiative has failed.

“Rather than simply comply with federal law and the Constitution, these cities have run to court to keep the money flowing even as they go on breaking the law,” Wilcox said. “But the administration’s pressure on these cities to obey the law is not an injury a court can recognize. We are pleased the court clearly saw that there was no imminent irreparable harm here, and denied the injunction.”

The case is City of Chelsea v. Trump, No. 1:25-cv-10442 in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Nolte: HBO Max Will No Longer Carry Disgraced CNN’s Live Feed

CNN Max is no more. HBO Max announced Friday that, starting next month, it will no longer carry the disgraced, far-left cable channel’s live feed.

Instead, HBO Max will only offer anodyne CNN shows like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper. The toxic live feed is no more.

A CNN spokesman spun it this way:

CNN has benefited tremendously from its two years of offering a live 24/7 feed of news to HBO Max customers. We learned from HBO Max’s large base of subscribers what people want and enjoy the most from CNN, and with the launch of our own new streaming subscription offering coming later this fall, we look forward to building off that and growing our audience with this unique, new offering.

What a load of crap, spinning this as though adding CNN to HBO Max was some sort of limited trial to “learn from HBO Max’s large base of subscribers what people want and enjoy the most from CNN.” =And Don’t the ratings tell you that!?!?==

CNN can never stop lying.

So, in the coming months, CNNLOL will launch a standalone streaming service, which will reportedly “feature a selection of live channels and on-demand programming, designed to put all of the network’s video offerings in one place.”

This, of course, comes three years after the glorious failure of CNN+, a subscription streaming service that lasted exactly four weeks.

This also comes after the news that Warner Bros. Discovery is dumping CNN into a separate publicly traded company, along with some other failing cable channels.Why? Because the disgraced CNN is dying and therefore works as a drag on the parent company’s stock price.

I cannot wait for CNN’s streaming outlet to launch.Watching that sucker fail will mean an early Christmas. The problem is that CNN has no other choice but to pursue the streaming route. With cable TV doomed and CNN incapable of earning profits through merit (i.e., advertising revenue based on ratings),CNN has to hope it can attract enough subscribers to stay afloat.

Can it?

Probably. We’ll never be entirely rid of CNN’s toxic hate, shameless hoaxes, fascist calls for violence, and naked bigotry. At the same time, the coming streaming revenue will never replace the unearned carriage fees that have kept CNN afloat these last ten years. So, while CNN might still be around spreading its poison,it will not be able to operate at anywhere near the level it has.

Besides, we don’t want CNN to disappear entirely.CNN is useful to us Normal People — an easy way to expose just how vile and dishonest the left and Democrat party are; how much these uptight media people hate us and want to see us dead or enslaved, not to mention their smug, superior, and humorless contempt for us.

CNN and its corporate media confederates have already whored out their credibility to the point that they can no longer sway public opinion to any concerning degree,so why not keep them around for our own purposes?

CNN still thinks of itself as useful left-wing propaganda. It’s not. CNN is useful only as MAGA propaganda.

Renowned Catholic sculptor Timothy Schmalz turned his grief over Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination into a beautiful tributethat will be installed on the campus of Ave Maria University in Florida.

In the early hours the day after Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University in September,Schmalz began working on a sculpture of Jesus Christ comforting Kirk, the Catholic News Agency reported on Friday.

Schmalz said it was “a form of prayer” as he worked, and the Agency report noted the artwork showsJesus covering the neck wound that took Kirk’s life with his nail-pierced hand.

“This was the murder of a human being. It was also a violent attack on the premise that we can have discussions as decent human beings.When he was murdered, it was like our freedoms were murdered as well,” Schmalz stated.

The artist was horrified at the video clip of Kirk’s assassination online and told the Agency that at the time he thought, “Can you give this person some dignity?

Not only are people absolutely barbarically rude when it comes to social media, but now you have this other layer of removing things that are sacred:the idea that a human life should not be murdered.”

However, Schmalzused the tragedy and violence to create something good.

“All of this really compelled me todo something positive within this horrible situation. I wondered, how would Charlie, who loved Jesus, want to be represented?” he said.

Schmalz posted an image of the sculpture on his website, writing:

The days after the murder of Charlie Kirk, Pope Leo was quoted saying he was praying for him and his family.The day after this tragedy I started this sculpture of Charlie. This is, in a sense,my visual prayer. It is now finished and ready to be cast in bronze. The first cast of the sculpture will be installed on the campus of Ave Maria University, Florida.

Schmalz, who is Canadian,said his prayer is that the world turns away from rage toward kindness and peace.

“We are in a culture of nihilism, and our secular society has to be challenged. If we are in a culture war, we have to fight it with culture,” he stated.

Schmalz recently told the National Catholic Register that he loves seeing his faith-based carvings displayed where they can promote Christianity.

“The best compliment these sculptures receive is to amaze andfascinate the most cynical youths of today,” he explained. “If they think that the art is amazing,they will have to think that the message is as well;a ‘cool’ sculpture outside a church may make them think that, likewise, something ‘cool’ is to be found inside the church,”

When Ave Maria UniversityPresident Mark Middendorf saw photosof the sculpture, he and Schmalz agreed the first bronze castingwould be installed at the school’s campus.

Tens of thousands of people packed State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for Kirk’s memorial service following his tragic death, which shocked millions of people around the world, per Breitbart News.

Kirk, who was a champion for free speech, the family, and conservative values, was a Christian whose deep faith in Jesus Christ compelled him to share the gospel message with others.

Following a seizure in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, the crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Seneca offloaded more than 12,750 pounds of illicit narcotics with a streetvalue estimated to be worth more than $94 millionat Port Everglades, Florida, on Tuesday. The crew alsotransferred 29 smugglers to federal agents for prosecution.

The seizures were part of an ongoing operation that utilizes multiple Coast Guard vessels and aircraft to interdict contraband and smugglers in international waters. Coast Guard crews working under Operation Pacific Viper, launched in early August, partner with global and interagency partners to conduct maritime narcotics interdiction operations.

ThroughOperation Pacific Viper, the Coast Guard is accelerating counter-drug operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, where the transport of illicit narcotics continues from Central and South America. The Coast Guard utilized cutters, aircraft, and tactical teams to interdict, seize, and disrupt transshipments of the cocaine and other bulk illicit drugs offloaded at Port Everglades on Tuesday.

According to a Coast Guard press release, Operation Pacific Viper has resulted in the seizure of more than 80,000 pounds of cocaine.

Captain Lee Jones, commanding officer of the Coast Guard Cutter Seneca commented on the efforts of his crew saying, “I’m incredibly proud of the teamwork and adaptability displayed by my crew and our partners during this patrol to stop illicit drug flow from entering the United States,our crews sacrifice time away from their families, and when necessary, put themselves in harm’s way to secure our borders and protect the American people.”

The Coast Guard is the United States’ lead federal maritime law enforcement agency with authority to enforce national and international laws on the high seas and waters within U.S. jurisdiction. Eighty percent of all U.S.-bound narcotics seizures occur at sea, underscoring the impact of Coast Guard maritime interdiction efforts.

Coast Guard Cutter Seneca is a 270-foot Famous-class medium endurance cutterwith a crew of 100homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The narcotics seizures made by the Coast Guard and other federal agencies on the high seashave reached historic levels in recent months. As reported by Breitbart Texas, in September, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro announced the most significant federal seizure of drug precursor chemicals by federal law enforcement authorities in U.S. history during a Wednesday press conference in Pasadena, Texas.The precursor chemicals, seized in two separate maritime interdictions, were headed from China to Mexico’s Sinaloa Cartel.

In that seizure, 363,000 pounds of benzyl alcohol, which can be used to produce benzyl chloride, a DEA-list II chemicalrestricted in many countries because it can be used toproduce amphetamine-type narcotics illegally, was seized. In addition to the vast quantity of benzyl alcohol seized during that operation,334,000 pounds of N-methyl formamide,a chemical included on the DEA special surveillance list of laboratory supplies used in the manufacture of controlled substances, was also interdicted.
