On breastmilk issue
Last bread
No doubt but breastfeeding isn’t a for sure thing
Altruistically, if you are really tryin to improve nutritional status in a famine area, the mother is not healthy enough to supply milk with a decent weight gaining potential.
Breastfeeding in that case is a lose lose deal. Baby gets watery milk, mother loses anything she’s got in her body. Dead baby, dead mother and 3 or 4 motherless children.
That is IF you are being truly altruistic.
If you want to
A. Pocket formula money
And
B. End up with 3-4 kids to sell
By all means, support breastfeeding in Africa
In developed world, not every woman can breastfeed.
Women who have to use formula shouldn’t be shamed.
My sister for example had twins, through emergency csection.
She breastfeed and pumped milk for 4 months but dr finally to,d her to stop.
Her surgical wound had not healed because all of her protein, fat, vitamins etc were going first to babies and not to healing her body.
Formula is better than dead moms, dead babies.
