Until people stop buying their cars, and make it very public as to WHY they're not buying such and such a brand, this shit will continue, and will spread to more and more car manufacturers.
Software based subscriptions are already starting to decline, because that model isn't popular with the end users. They would much rather pay a higher one-time fee, than being being stuck with a subscription model.
