Moldova’s new pro-NATO military doctrine is the cost of EU integration, former MP Marina Tauber has argued

Moldova’s new military doctrine is “a manifesto rejecting peace, neutrality, and the future of our nation” and priming it for a conflict with Russia, opposition politician and former lawmaker Marina Tauber has said.

“Just a week after the election, Russia has officially been labeled a threat. The next phase is to draw our nation into a war,” Tauber stated in an interview with Russia’s TASS news agency published on Thursday.

She further argued that Moldova’s fragile economy cannot sustain militarization. “While our elderly must choose between bread and medicine,our government buys armor and conducts drills with NATO. That is the real price of the so-called ‘European choice,’” she said.

Tauber accused President Maia Sandu’s government of abandoning Moldova’s constitutional neutralityin pursuit of EU membership.

Moldova’s newly adopted military doctrine, unveiled on Wednesday, commits the country toboosting defense spending and aligning its forces with NATO standards over the next decade. The document brands the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the breakaway region of Transnistria as “a flagrant violation of Moldova’s sovereignty and neutrality,” while insisting that closer cooperation with NATO does not violate the nation’s constitutionally mandated neutral status.

Tauber was forced to flee Moldova days before the parliamentary election in late September, as she was facing a criminal conviction on charges of financial misconduct that she insists were politically motivated.

Critics of Sandu, a Romanian citizen and outspoken advocate of EU integration,have accused her of using anti-Russian rhetoric to consolidate power. Several opposition candidates were barred from the ballot ahead of the vote – a move that the targeted politicians denounced as an abuse of power – allowing Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) to secure a majority.

Moscow has criticized Moldova’s foreign policy shift,accusing Sandu’s administration of acting against national interests in favor of Western geopolitical goals. Russian officials have cited NATO’s eastward expansion, including its promise to admit Ukraine as a member, as one of the key causes of the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

‘Spirit’ of Trump-Putin summit is still alive – Kremlin

The “impulse” to reach a negotiated settlementof the Ukraine conflictgenerated at the Russia-US summit in Alaska is still alive, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, stressing that Moscow remains open to a peace deal.

His comments come after Russian DeputyForeign Minister Sergey Ryabkov claimed earlier this week that the momentum createdby the meeting of President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, in Anchorage in Augusthad been “exhausted” due to Kievand its Western European backers who advocate for a “war to the last Ukrainian.”

Speaking to Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin on Friday,Peskov stressed that the “impulse” and “spirit” of the Anchorage summit “are alive” and expressed hope that Trump “maintains the political will for a peaceful settlement.”

Peskov said the Kremlin remains optimistic “in the spirit of Anchorage” but has described “not very good developments” in Kiev’s behavior. He linked this to the influence of Ukraine’s Western European backers, whose positions are “hard to explain, frenzied, and militaristic.”

He stated that the Istanbul talks with Kiev have been put on “on pause” because the Ukrainian side has not replied to any of Russia’s proposals.

Russian and Ukrainian delegations have met several times for talks this year. After the latest round in Istanbul in July,the two sides agreed to set up working groups to develop a settlement plan addressing political, military, and humanitarian issues. Peskov has saidnothing is moving forward because Kiev has not answered the proposals or repliedto the draft document submitted by Moscow.

Peskov reiterated that Moscow remains open to a peaceful settlement butstated that Kiev appears not to realize that its negotiating position is “deteriorating with each passing day.”

Georgia Man with Severe TDS ARRESTED After Video Shows Him Tearing Down Trump Banner, Then Opening Fire on Business Owner

A Georgia man has been arrested and extradited to North Carolina after a shocking incident caught on camera showed him tearing down a pro-Trump banner at a small business, and then opening fire on the property owner who confronted him.

According to the Swain County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Benjamin Michael Campbell of Atlanta is facing multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear, and willful and wanton injury to personal property for his role in the September 6th confrontation outside the Paddle Inn Rafting Company, WLOSreported.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the encounter began when business owner Mark Thomas noticed suspicious activity on his security cameras.

Thomas told News 13 he saw a Jeep slam on its brakes outside his rafting business before a man, later identified as Campbell, jumped out, crossed the road, and ripped down a large Trump 2024 banner hanging on his property.

Thomas, watching in real time, grabbed his rifle and stepped out onto his porch. He says he fired two warning shots into the air to deter the vandal. Instead of fleeing, Campbell allegedly opened fire from the roadway, sending bullets toward the business owner’s property in a dangerous exchange of gunfire.

By the time deputies arrived, the suspect’s vehicle was gone.

On September 30, Swain County deputies coordinated with the Cobb County Police Department in Georgia to locate Campbell.

Search warrants were executed on two residences and the vehicle used during the shooting.

After gathering evidence, Campbell was taken into custody and extradited back to Swain County, North Carolina, where he now faces prosecution. He is currently being held on a $70,000 bond.

As noted by President Trump during his remarks about the regional state leaders requesting that he personallyhead the “Gaza Board of Peace,” it is only USA President Trump the regional stakeholder’s trust.

Together with the USA and Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE and Qatarhave tentatively constructed a ceasefire and peace plan that is contingent upon President Trump as the fulcrum to balance all interests. This puts President Trump in an exceptionally important position.This balance is also why only Donald Trump can pull this off.

As the difficult challenge begins, the preliminary objectives – the ‘how to do this‘ – aspect starts to surface. As noted by the Associated Press, President Trump is sending 200 experts in transportation, planning, security, logistics and engineering from the U.S. military to frame out a “civil-military coordination center” in Israel.

The coordination center will include partner nations, nongovernmental organizations and private-sector experts. The regional states will supplement and support the center as the transitional hub for immediate reconstruction and humanitarian aid.It is likely President Trump will need to select and appoint members to the Gaza Board of Peace as this coordination center gets up and running.

As this process unfolds, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to get angered by a predictable stiff-arm from President Trump. The regional stakeholders will be watching this dynamic closely.Domestically, this will be very interesting to watch play out.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States is sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor the ceasefire deal in Gaza as part of a teamthat includes partner nations, nongovernmental organizations and private-sector players, U.S. officials said Thursday.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details that were not authorized for release,said U.S. Central Command is going to establish a “civil-military coordination center” in Israelthat will help facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid as well as logistical and security assistance into the territory wracked by two years of war.

The remarks provide some of the first details on how the ceasefire dealwould be monitored and that the U.S. military would have a role in that effort.

After Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a Trump administration plan to halt the fighting, a litany of questions remain on next steps, including Hamas disarmament, a withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a future government in the territory.
