I got the free one off Audible. Split the AAX into each individual chapter of FLACs according to the chapter list to carry over the metadata, downmixed to mono because you sure don't need stereo for spoken word, and re-encoded them all with Opus at 32k. Spoken word sounds just as good to my ears with earbuds, though you'll notice the bitrate if there's an intro jingle to the audiobook. Basically your audiobooks will be half to a quarter in size of what you get from Audible, but sounding just as good, and not locked with DRM.
