Ukrainian Drones Damage, Set Fire To One Of Russia's Biggest Oil Terminals On Black Sea

Another Ukrainian drone attack targeting Russia's oil export infrastructure has occurred Sunday, which saw one of Russia's main Black Sea oil ports set ablaze.

A tanker and another ship was also set ablaze at Tuapse, one of the biggest oil terminals on the Black Sea. Russian emergency services in the region said, "As a result of the drone attack on the port of Tuapse on the night of November 2, two foreign civilian ships were damaged."

"The buildings and infrastructure of the terminal" had sustained damage, it said - though noted there were no casualties among the crews of the ships and that all fires had been extinguished.

The Tuapse Black Sea oil terminal and an oil refinery is controlled by Russia's biggest oil company Rosneft - which has been targeted by the newest US Treasury sanctions last month.

According to Reuters, "The export-oriented Tuapse plant, which has a processing capacity of 240,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), produces naphtha, fuel oil, vacuum gasoil and high-sulphur diesel. It mainly supplies China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey."

The Russian defense ministry said that more broadly the country's anti-air defenses were able to intercept a little over 280 drones during the assault on various regions of Russia.

Ukraine's General Staff boasted that its drones landed five hits on the Tuapse port and oil export infrastructure. Ukrainian media has meanwhile hailed the recent attacks on Russian oil refineries and terminals as putting a sizeable dent in Moscow's war funding:

Russia’s exports of refined fuels have dropped to levels unseen since the war began, as the country’s energy trade is hit by a combination of shutdowns at major refineries and escalating Western sanctions, according to a report by Bloomberg on Oct. 30.

Citing Vortexa Ltd. figures, the outlet reported that overall seaborne oil product shipments amounted to 1.89 million barrels a day in the first 26 days of October, marking the lowest volume recorded since early 2022.

Although diesel exports edged higher, weaker loadings of naphtha and fuel oil – particularly from the Baltic ports affected by strikes on the Ust-Luga terminal – pulled overall shipments down. Bad weather may also have slowed port activity.

The Maldives has prohibited anyone born after January 1, 2007 from buying or using tobacco

The Republic of Maldives has banned smoking for individuals born on or after January 1, 2007, becoming the second country in the world after New Zealand to implement a generational prohibition on tobacco.

According to Maldives Health Statistics, tobacco consumption and exposure to secondhand smoke are among the leading causes of illness and death nationwide. This prompted President Mohamed Muizzu to launch an anti-smoking campaign last year, banning vapes and e-cigarettes while doubling import duties and taxes on cigarettes.

The new ban, affecting Generation Z first, was ratified as an amendment to the Tobacco Control Act in May and came into force on Saturday. It also reportedly applies to visitors to the island nation known for its luxury tourism.

Anyone born after January 1, 2007 is now prohibited from purchasing, selling, or using tobacco products in the Maldives. The restriction covers all forms of tobacco, and retailers must verify buyers’ ages.

Individuals under 21 are also barred from participating in tobacco-related sales or commercial activities, a move described as “further shielding young people from tobacco exposure.” The new law bans all forms of tobacco advertising, sponsorship, and promotion, and upholds a total prohibition on electronic cigarettes and vapes for all ages, including their import, sale, distribution, possession, and use.

The Maldives Health Ministry said the new law will help “protect public health and promote a tobacco-free generation.” First Lady Saajidhaa Mohamed hailed the move as historic, calling it “a bold, evidence-based step to break the cycle of addiction and prevent diseases” and a commitment to “securing a healthier, stronger future for our youth.”

Many countries have introduced measures to curb tobacco use in recent years, ranging from banning smoking in public places to raising tobacco taxes and implementing marketing and age restrictions.

Leftist-Controlled Maryland County Stuns Residents By Striking Deal With ICE

The Democratic Party's power grip on the Mid-Atlantic, particularly in Maryland, appears to be eroding.

Local headlines and a Justice Department statement confirm that leftist-controlled Baltimore County has been removed from the federal list of sanctuary jurisdictions after signing a cooperation agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The DoJ wrote in a press release that the county's cooperation represents progress in restoring public safety, despite state-level restrictions on federal immigration enforcement. The county had been listed as a sanctuary jurisdiction since August, a designation leftist County Executive Kathy Klausmeier argued was a mistake.

"Despite restrictions from state leadership, Baltimore County has shown a willingness to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. This is a small step toward restoring public safety and we appreciate the county's commitment to updating its policies," Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward wrote in a statement.

"This agreement makes no changes to the Department of Corrections' standard practices and aligns Baltimore County with peer jurisdictions throughout the state of Maryland," the county Executive's office said in a statement Friday.

In total, eight Maryland counties, plus crime-ridden Baltimore City, were placed on the list of sanctuary jurisdictions published by the Trump administration earlier this year. The common denominator among all these areas is that they're controlled by far-left lawmakers who prioritize illegal aliens over their constituents. The goal is clear: illegals mean future voters, which ultimately disenfranchises the existing voting base.

For far too long, the Democratic Party has maintained a stranglehold over the central part of the state. Ohio Sec. Of State Refers 1,084 Cases Of Suspected Fraudulent Voter Registration to DOJ

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose says he’s found 1,084 alleged cases of noncitizens who appear registered to vote and is referring them to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) after county prosecutors failed to act.

LaRose said his office has also uncovered instances of 167 people who have allegedly voted in a federal election as far back as 2018.

“In these cases, the county prosecutor has decided for whatever reason not to take them up. In some cases they’ve been referred to the attorney general as well, and we’re sending them along to the federal government to see if they want to prosecute these cases,” LaRose said.

LaRose had asked county prosecutors to act on 633 cases of suspected voter fraud last year but prosecutors took up just 12 of them, saying the others lacked evidence to pursue indictments.

The number of election fraud allegations in Ohio are a direct challenge to Democrat claims that noncitizens registering to vote in U.S. elections never happens.

Secretary LaRose gave credit to a special investigative unit in his office for uncovering the cases, although he noted that, while unusual, there does not appear to be a pattern to them.

LaRose stated:

What we know is that noncitizens registering is exceedingly rare. It’s even more rare for noncitizens to actually cast a ballot, especially now that we’ve got a really good process in place for identifying that at the time of registration and checking for that. But in some cases it has happened. And we’re talking about hundreds of cases, not thousands and thousands of cases.

A press release from LaRose’s office says the Ohio Sec. of State is also referring to the DOJ, 99 individuals who appear to have voted in two states in the same federal election, 16 individuals who appear to have voted twice in Ohio in the same federal election and 14 individuals who appear to have voted in a federal election after the date of their deaths.

Four individuals also are suspected of ballot harvesting and 2 individuals appear to have registered to vote at a residence where they were not entitled to register.

Federal Judge Rules Trump Cannot Enforce Voter Registration Proof-Of-Citizenship Order

A federal judge struck down President Donald Trump’s attempt to require proof of citizenship for voter registration Friday, ruling the president overstepped his constitutional authority.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in Washington permanently blocked the citizenship documentation requirement from Trump’s March 25 executive order on federal elections, Reuters reported. The Constitution grants states, not the president, power over election administration, she ruled.

The decision serves as the first final ruling against Trump’s executive order, which faced multiple legal challenges from civil rights groups. Courts had previously issued temporary blocks against the measure.

Trump’s order sought to modify the national voter registration form to require documents like passports as citizenship proof. The judge found this requirement illegal under constitutional separation of powers.

“While we celebrate this victory, we remain vigilant and will keep fighting to ensure every eligible voter can make their voice heard without interference or intimidation,” said Sophia Lin Lakin of the American Civil Liberties Union, which represented the League of Women Voters in the case. “No president can sidestep the Constitution to make it harder to vote.”

The lawsuits came from organizations including the Democratic National Committee, the League of United Latin American Citizens and the League of Women Voters Education Fund. They argued the requirement would burden Americans without current passports who would need to purchase new documents to vote.

The judge declined to block another provision barring states from counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day.

As the scandal continued to rock the IDF and Israel, Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara sparred Sunday over whether the latter has the authority to investigate the incident, while several of the suspected soldiers asserted that their names should be cleared.

The August 2024 leak “caused enormous reputational damage to Israel, to the IDF, and to our soldiers,” the premier said at the start of the cabinet meeting, as he called for an “impartial inquiry.”

“It is perhaps the most serious public relations attack Israel has experienced since its founding — I cannot recall one so concentrated and intense,” Netanyahu said. “This requires an independent and impartial inquiry, and I expect that such an investigation will indeed take place.”

On Friday, military advocate general Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi admitted to approving the leak of the video and resigned from her position.

The leak followed the arrest of 10 IDF reservists suspected of involvement in the abuse, which triggered riots by right-wing activists and demonstrators — including serving coalition ministers and MKs — at the base and at the military court where the suspects were taken.

Five soldiers were indicted in February for abusing the Palestinian security prisoner after he was brought to the detention facility in July 2024. The assault left him with severe injuries, including broken ribs and a tear in his rectum.

China’s poor record cracking down on fentanyl trade looms over new trade deal

The Chinese government promised on two prior occasions to crack down on fentanyl precursor chemicals, only to allegedly subsidize their manufacture and route trade through Mexican cartels.

Chinese President Xi Jinping reportedly agreed to crack down on the illicit trade of fentanyl precursor chemicals in exchange for tariff relief from the Trump administration. However, China’s poor history of following through on similar deals looms large.

After his meeting with Xi this week, President Donald Trump said that his Chinese counterpart vowed to “stop the flow” of fentanyl precursor chemicals into the U.S. in exchange for a reduction in the 20% tariff that the American president had imposed early in his second term over the illegal drug trade.

The promise came as part of a broader trade truce negotiated between Washington and Beijing on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit held in South Korea. The Chinese also agreed to resume purchases of American soybeans and delay onerous restrictions on exports of vital rare earth metals for at least one year. In return, the Trump administration promised to drastically reduce the significant tariffs it had imposed against China earlier this year.

Doubts about China keeping promises loom

There is cause for concern in the U.S. that China may not uphold its end of the bargain regarding fentanyl-related chemicals. In fact, the two U.S. administrations, including the first Trump administration, agreed to similar deals with Beijing, only to find that little actually changed. The same promise was made in a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden in November 2023 and also in agreements with President Donald Trump in 2018 and 2019.

“[We’re] going to have to see some results here,” Coates told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show on Thursday. “Chairman Xi will smile for the cameras, he'll say nice things, and then go back and do exactly what he was doing before.”

“On the fentanyl, we're going to have to see fewer drug boats coming up from South America, both through the Pacific and through the Caribbean to the United States. We're going to have to see those precursors, those chemicals, coming out of China, we're going to have to see that stop,” Coates continued.

Elon Musk predicts phones and apps will be obsolete in five years, says AI will curate everything

Elon Musk appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience this week, where he predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will be so transformative that it will replace traditional phones and apps.

Musk told Rogan that within a few years, AI will be so integrated into daily life that people will no longer open individual apps or platforms. Instead, he said, AI will anticipate what users want and curate everything directly for them through their devices.

“Well, I can tell you where I think things are gonna go, which is that it's, we're not gonna have a phone in the traditional sense,” Musk said. “What we call a phone will really be an edge node for AI inference, for AI video inference with, you know, with some radios to obviously connect to. But, essentially, you'll have AI on the server side, communicating to an AI on your device, you know, formerly known as a phone, and generating real-time video of anything that you could possibly want.”

Musk explained that this shift would eliminate the need for operating systems or apps. “There won't be operating systems or apps. It'll just be, you've got a device that is there for the screen and audio, and to put as much AI on the device as possible,” he said.

Rogan asked Musk whether platforms like X or email services would still exist if apps disappeared. Musk replied, “You'll get everything through AI.”

He explained that AI will learn to anticipate users’ preferences and deliver content automatically.

“Whatever you can think of. Or really, whatever the AI can anticipate you might want, it'll show you." Musk explained. “That's my prediction for where things end up.”

When asked how soon this could happen, Musk estimated, “I don't know. It's probably, well it's probably five or six years, something like that.”

Kindergarten kids offered non-binary gender pronouns by education department in one Aussie state

Parents in Queensland are asked if they would like 'they/them' pronouns used for their pre-school aged child in official paperwork.

Each November, kindergarten teachers in the state prepare what is called a transition statement for children, aged four or five, going into primary school the next year.

The document outlines the child's academic and artistic strengths or areas where they might need more focus. The report is then given to parents and, if they choose, to the primary school where their child will attend.

Under the gender section for their child, parents can choose how they would like their child referred to in the statement. The options are he/him, she/her or they/them.

Former Queensland Senator Gerard Rennick has previously criticised the option.

'Children are now being asked about their preferred pronouns in preschool… What happened to letting kids be kids?' he said.

'What are the repercussions of sexual content being brainwashed into our children regarding their personal self-esteem and the way they treat others as they grow older?'

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority, responsible for administrating what is taught in schools and regulating assessments, oversees the transition statements.

One shocked mother told The Australian she wrote to Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek to express her anger at the 'outrageous' move.

The minister replied that QCAA was an independent statutory body so he did not have direct authority over it, but had been advised the inclusion of they/them pronouns was to 'foster inclusion and recognise diversity in our community'.

Teenage nursery worker is convicted of raping and sexually abusing children as young as three

A teenage nursery worker has been found guilty of raping and abusing children as young as three.

Thomas Waller, 18, who was newly-qualified to work with children, preyed on his young victims in the toilets.

He appeared at Staines Magistrates Court on Friday and was sent to the crown court for sentencing.

Waller's offences - which took place last year - include rape, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and taking indecent images of children.

The teenager was told his offences were 'serious' and that he could expect a prison sentence of up to 17 years.

He was described by the mother of one of his victims as a 'very dangerous individual'.

She told BBC South East: 'That he can do this at such a young age and in such a calculated way, I find very frightening.'

The mother explained that she only found out about Waller's abuse when her child told her he had been abused in the toilets.

'He told me, in three-year-old terms, that he'd been sexually assaulted at nursery by one of the staff, which was very shocking for me to hear,' she added.

The mother informed staff at the nursery, who reported it to the police and Waller was arrested the same evening.
