Verizon complied with Special Counsel Smith's subpoena for GOP Senator phone records. Federal Judge order kept the request be kept secret.

AT&T pushed back against Smith.

The fact that Smith did not pursue the AT&T phone records may be an important indicator:

Did Smith question whether his phone records request was on sound legal footing?

Verizon says it's now working with congress and changing how it handles similar, future requests. 👇
