Unfortunately I have to fly for work, and can confirm your sentiment. I drive whenever I can.
But today is the day that staff reductions for controllers is supposed to hit.
I am old enough to have experienced airline travel when America was mostly skinny and the coach seats were wide and comfy, to now when America is fat and most passengers spill into the adjacent seats.
Not to mention the relative ugliness of the flight crews now.
