>CATL Naxtra: Sodium-Ion Batteries Take Center Stage
anon opines…
while it may defy an overly simplistic understanding of trends in the periodic table, lithium in reality FAR less reactive than sodium
if you thought spontaneous combustion of lithium batteries was a serious concern
you ain't seen nothing yet
more to the point, it's time to question the entire "rechargable battery powered lifestyle" paradigm
in most cases there is really NOT a good reason to replace corded implements with cordless ones
and most often it boils down to too lazy to get an extention cord to reach an outlet
from the point of power generation to the point of work extraction, EVERY power transduction wastes a significant portion of the power
bcs EVERY transformation of power is inherently less than 100% efficient, some, egregiously so
to needlessly add recharging and discharging a battery to the chain of transmission is one of the most inefficient
and as such, is intrinsically the antithesis of the "green energy" goal that is relentlessly foisted on the illiterati
