Eight people are confirmed dead after a vehicle exploded near a crowded metro station in New Delhi

Eight people have been confirmed dead and dozens more injured by a car blast in a densely populated area of India’s capital, New Delhi, on Monday. The incident took place outside the Red Fort metro station at about 7pm local time during the evening rush hour, according to local media reports.

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha told the media that the blast occurred in a “slow moving vehicle that stopped at the red light.” He noted that there were passengers inside. The blast led to many nearby vehicles also catching fire. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a “huge fireball” and a “very loud” explosion.

Emergency services have cordoned off the area while the injured people have been taken to nearby hospitals, NDTV has said. At least 20 fire trucks are said to be working at the scene. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blast.

The fire was brought under control by 7:30 pm, Deputy Chief Fire Officer AK Malik told the outlet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly been briefed about the incident by Home Minister Amit Shah. Security services are said to be in constant contact with the Home Minister about the situation.

In a statement to the press, Shah stated that authorities are exploring “all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation” and that the findings will be presented to the public.

While the nature of the blast or who may have been involved remains unclear, Indian media outlets have noted that the blast took place on the same day that police found nearly 2,900 kg of explosives in the city of Faridabad, located just 50km away from the Indian capital.

The bust was made in connection with a major counter-terrorist operation conducted by Jammu, Kashmir, and Haryana Police. Two men - an assistant university professor and a doctor - are said to have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, SP Vaid, told the ANI news outlet that the suspects are likely linked to Pakistan’s “deep state” and that the seized explosives were set to be used for a terrorist attack.

In a statement on X, Modi extended his condolences to the families of the victims and added that those affected are already being assisted by authorities.

Ukraine Frantically Tries To Restore Electricity & Heating In Worst Crisis Since War's Start

Ukraine has been working frantically through Sunday into Monday to restore electricity and heating after a wave of Russian strikes on energy infrastructure severely disrupted parts of the country’s power supply over the weekend, which we documented earlier.

Moscow has only intensified its assaults on Ukraine's energy network in recent months as Trump-backed peace efforts have waned, with each side blaming the other for this. Friday into Saturday alone saw many hundreds of drones and missile pummel Ukraine.

But Ukraine answered, as we also reported, by leaving more than 20,000 people without power in areas near the border, according to local Russian officials.

The war-ravaged nation's energy minister Svitlana Grynchuk had said Saturday, "Currently, power generation is down to zero" and introduced that rolling power outages would remain, with the power cut for between eight and 16 hours a day across most regions of Ukraine through Sunday.

She further indicated regular outages would be seen across Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Chernigiv and Sumy oblasts.

"The enemy inflicted a massive strike with ballistic missiles, which are extremely difficult to shoot down. It is hard to recall such a number of direct strikes on energy facilities since the beginning of the invasion," she told a local TV station.

She further called the Friday into Saturday Russian assault "one of the most difficult nights" since the February 2022 all-out Russian invasion.

There have even been new outages due to fresh shelling of critical infrastructure on Monday, with state energy company Ukrenergo announcing:

"Due to the consequences of Russian shelling, a difficult situation in the energy system – today measures to limit consumption are being applied. By the end of the day in most regions there will be hourly outage schedules covering 2 to 4 stages. Also in regions where hourly power cuts are used, there will also be power-limitation schedules for industry and business."

Citizens who do have power are being asked to conserve and not utilize power on non-essential needs.

President Trump Pardons 77 Alternate Electors and Several Top Associates from 2020 Election, Including: Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Christina Bobb, Jeffrey Clark and Mark Meadows

President Trump on Sunday night pardoned the 77 alternative electors from the 2020 election who were ruthlessly and unjustly persecuted by the Joe Biden regime after the stolen 2020 election.

The list includes President Trump’s former attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Christina Bobb, and John Eastman. The list also includes Trump’s trusted advisors Mark Meadows, Boris Epshteyn, and dozens of alternative electors from Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

Reform UK launched Small Business For Reform on Monday, as the party offered SMEs the chance to directly get involved in crafting legislation, rule changes, and tax reforms to benefit that crucial but badly abused sector of the economy ahead of a potential future British government run by Nigel Farage’s party.

Reflecting on decades of government policy that has privileged big business and multinationals while hobbling small business with ever more regulations and taxation, Mr Farage observed the gap between the political class — who very often have no business experience whatsoever — and the GDP-generating part of the economy has never been larger and called for a government that would allow the self-employed to “carry on with their lives”.

SMEs are treated with suspicion if not outright hostility by default, Mr Farage noted, and those who do manage to break through the bureaucracy, identify a niche in the market, and make a successful go of it are seen to have moral failings because they’re making money.

He told the gathering of 300 SME leaders in London’s Royal Horticultural Halls:

There is no understanding of the impact of legislation. And that is because government only listens to big business. I saw this myself in my 20 years in Brussels. The big companies had their own lobbying offices, and it’s not dissimilar here in Westminster.

It’s the big businesses that take you to Wimbledon, it’s the big business that that take people out for dinner, it’s the big businesses that shape policy. And the small businesses, frankly, don’t even get a look in.

And that’s remarkable when you think about it because over 99 per cent of all businesses in this country are small businesses with fewer than 50 employees. And think of this, 50 per cent of those employed in the private sector, I’m talking about over 13 million people are directly employed by small businesses.

A kleptocracy is literally “rule by thieves.”

One could fairly say that a kleptocracy was always going to be the end result of the oligarchy that was America.

The signs were visible long before now: power and wealth have been trading places for decades.

Indeed, it has been more than a decade since researchers at Princeton and Northwestern concluded that the U.S. is a functional oligarchy in which “political outcomes overwhelmingly favored very wealthy people, corporations, and business groups,” while the influence of ordinary citizens was at a “non-significant, near-zero level.”

So now we find ourselves in this present moment where billionaires are running the show.

In the White House, President Trump is redecorating, transforming what had been known as “the people’s house” into a palace fit for an American king, complete with marbled bathrooms and a sprawling, gold-fitted ballroom. The rest of the administration, taking its cue from their leader, are jetting around at taxpayer expense for lavish vacations, sporting events—and decadent parties at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida retreat.

The responses to criticisms either deflect to how other administrations wasted money or, in the case of the ballroom, insist the project is privately funded—and therefore beyond reproach because taxpayers aren’t paying for it.

A Waikato district mayor has hit back at Auckland mayor Wayne Brown after he said it should send its homeless to the countryside.

“It must be nice having a city so flash you can evict people for not matching the decor,” Waikato District’s Aksel Bech said.

This comes after Government ministers last week said they wanted to change the law to ban begging, or rough sleeping, in city centres.

Police Minister Mark Mitchell and Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith confirmed work was underway to empower police – or potentially other law enforcement agents – to move on rough sleepers and beggars.

A state commission of inquiry is a probe that operates independently of the political echelon. Its members are appointed by the chief justice of the Supreme Court, and it has the power to subpoena witnesses and make personal recommendations regarding individuals.

“We want to establish an inquiry committee on October 7 that will be balanced and that will earn the broadest possible public trust,” Netanyahu said, calling for a different body to head the commission of inquiry.

The bereaved families who attended the debate in the plenum's viewing section then began turning their backs to Netanyahu in response to his remarks.

Former Trump campaign manager registers as foreign agent for Israel

Parscale filed paperwork with the Foreign Agents Registration Act saying he began work for the Israeli government on Sept. 18. He registered a company called Clocktower X LLC and is primarily corresponding with Israel’s minister of Foreign Affairs and Eran Shayovich, listed as chief of staff at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to his LinkedIn.

Parscale’s contract was first reported by the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, a Washington-based think tank that advocates for restraint in foreign policy.

According to Parscale’s contract, his company is hired to create content where at least 80 percent “is tailored to Gen Z audiences across platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, and other relevant digital and broadcast outlets.”

The contract also states that “Agency shall provide strategic communications, planning, and media services in support of Client’s engagement by the State of Israel to develop and execute a nationwide campaign in the United States to combat antisemitism.”

Antisemitism has risen dramatically in the U.S. amid two years of Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, triggered by the U.S.-designated terrorist group’s attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The Anti-Defamation League recorded 9,354 antisemitic incidents across the U.S. in 2024, the highest number on record since the ADL began tracking incidents 46 years ago.

The ADL said that for the first time in the history of the audit, a majority (58 percent) of all incidents contained elements related to Israel or Zionism.

For a company headquartered in Florida, such cooperation with an unfounded federal demand may have violated both state and federal laws. Yet the bank went further.

At the height of Trump Media’s public offering in early 2024—just as Truth Social was preparing to go public and raise $250 million—J.P. Morgan abruptly “debanked” the company.

That decision, coming amid active cooperation with the Biden Department of Justice, effectively sabotaged a major free speech enterprise.

It was a clear act of corporate compliance with political intimidation.

Hollywood Producer Buys Israeli NSO Spyware Maker, Hires David Friedman to Sell Hacking Tools to U.S.

Hollywood producer Robert Simonds has purchased the Israeli spyware maker NSO Group to bring it under "American" control and hired Trump's former Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, to lobby the president to remove sanctions on the firm so they can sell their hacking tools to US law enforcement.

Though the company was sold to a consortium of alleged "Americans" led by Simonds, the NSO Group "said Sunday that it would continue to operate from Israel under the full regulatory authority of the Defense Ministry, as it expands its global footprint and seeks to resume operations in the US," the Times of Israel reports.

Wendy’s to close 300 stores nationwide starting later this year

Ohio-based Wendy’s is planning to close hundreds more stores nationwide just a year after shuttering 140 locations.

Interim CEO Ken Cook told investors in a Friday, Nov. 7, quarterly earnings call that the Dublin-Ohio based fast-food company would be closing a “mid single-digit percentage” of locations. With about 6,000 locations operating nationwide, that means 240 to 360 stores could close. One investor estimated the number at about 300 locations during the call.

“When we look at the system today, we have some restaurants that do not elevate the brand and are a drag from a franchisee financial performance perspective,” Cook said on the call. “The goal is to address and fix those restaurants.”

In some cases, that will mean making improvements to technology or equipment or transferring struggling locations to new operators. In others, he said, it will mean closing the restaurants altogether.
