A long time ago, ADHD was classified as "minimal brain damage." That would be "something like" being retarded. Even back then, the intellectual talents of ADHD people was recognized. Whereas "retarded" meant the person was lagging behind in development in some way, often ADHD people were way ahead in development for some skills (math) while way behind in others (social skills). This anon doesn't know your age or condition, but can attest that being ADHD is "something like" being retarded yet gifted at the same time.
