Court Eases Sentence For Afghan Who 'Showed Restraint' After 'Only' Stabbing Teacher Six Times

A 29-year-old Afghan migrant has been sentenced to six years in prison for stabbing a 27-year-old teacher at random on the street, in the middle of the day, in the German city of Kirchheim unter Teck

However, despite stabbing his victim four times in the back and twice in the thigh, the fact that the Afghan stopped stabbing her once she screamed was enough to convince the court in Stuttgart to drop the attempted murder charge.

On March 14 of this year, the teacher was seriously injured while walking home from work. The 29-year-old, who did not know his victim, walked up to her from behind in a residential area and grabbed her neck. With his other hand, he began stabbing her in the back with a 9.5-centimeter knife four times. He then stabbed her twice in her thigh.

The woman began screaming, at which time, her attacker let her go and ran away.

Based on the fact that he stopped stabbing her and ran away, the court claimed this was a “withdrawal from attempted murder,” according to reporting from Yvonne Kussman for Aktuelle Informiert. Therefore, since the man could have kept stabbing her but stopped, he was only convicted of the lesser crime of previous bodily harm.

A similar legal ruling was recently applied to another controversial case in Germany involving SPD Mayor Iris Stalze, who was tortured and stabbed by her adopted daughter from Africa, to the point that she almost died. In that case as well, the ruling of a “withdrawal” was also issued, and no arrest was even made, with legal experts calling the ruling into question.

Regarding the details of this case involving the Afghan stabbing, it is worth noting that this “withdrawal” clause in the German legal system can only be invoked when there is a “genuine” withdrawal.

Democrat Colorado Governor Affirms He Will Not Move Tina Peters to Federal Custody

The office of Colorado Gov. Jared Polis affirmed this week a decision by state prison officials not to fulfill a request by the Trump administration to transfer custody of Tina Peters from the state to federal authorities.

Peters, the former Republican Mesa County clerk, is serving a 9-year prison sentence for her role in a scheme to breach the security of her own election equipment. President Donald Trump has repeatedly demanded that she be released.

The director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons sent a letter to the Colorado Department of Corrections last month requesting that the state “initiate the transfer” of Peters to the bureau.

“Requests to transfer inmates from the Colorado Department of Corrections emanate from the state, and not from other entities. The state has not made any requests to transfer this inmate,” Shelby Wieman, a Polis spokesperson, said in a text to Newsline.

Former Israeli spies now overseeing US government cybersecurity

A company founded and run by former Israeli military intelligence officers now oversees cybersecurity across more than 70 U.S. federal agencies, including the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security, effectively giving a foreign intelligence-linked firm sweeping visibility and control over the digital lives of millions of American government employees.

“A company with deep ties to Israeli intelligence oversees cyber security across more than seventy US government agencies, including the Department of Defense and Homeland Security.

Axonius was founded by former spies in Israel’s Unit 8200 and its software, which allows an operator ‘visibility and control over all types and number of devices,’ collects and analyses the digital data of millions of US federal employees.

The stated aim of the Axonius platform is to centralize IT tools to identity and fix security breaches. As a product of Israeli intelligence, however, the scale of Axonius’s use across the US government raises serious questions.

Axonius was founded and is currently run by Israelis Dean Sysman, Ofri Shur and Avidor Bartov, who met in the 2010s while working on the same team within Israel’s Unit 8200 spy service. On his LinkedIn profile, Sysman offers few details of their work for the IDF, describing it simply as having ‘far-reaching implications.’

Sysman left the IDF in 2014 after five years and set up a cyber hacking outfit, while Shur and Bartov stayed on until 2017, a period which encompassed Israel’s 2014 war of aggression against Gaza, during which the IDF murdered more than two thousand Palestinian civilians.

Axonius was established with curious speed. After leaving the IDF in 2017, Shur and Bartov teamed back up with Sysman and immediately received $4 million in seed funding from Yoav Leitersdorf, a San Francisco-based Israeli-American and fellow Unit 8200 veteran, to start Axonius. Leitersdorf, the managing partner at US-Israeli venture capital firm YL Ventures, is a prolific early-stage investor in Unit 8200 cyber start-ups.

The same year Sysman, Shur and Bartov also received millions in seed financing from Israeli firm Vertex Ventures which is run by veterans of Israel’s spy units. Tami Bronner, a partner at Vertex, spent four years in Israeli military intelligence.

Following this early financing from investors close to Israel’s intelligence establishment, the company went on to receive hundreds of millions in investment from a network of US venture capital firms with intelligence links to Israel.

These include Palo Alto-based Accel Partners, which has invested in more than thirty Israeli tech companies, including another Unit 8200 cyber spin-out, Oasis. Nir Blumberger, an Israeli who served in the IDF, was recruited by Accel from Facebook to open its Tel Aviv office in 2016.

Those attempts were captured through MadPot, Amazon's honeypot network, which logged scanning and exploit traffic tied to infrastructure previously linked to Beijing-aligned operators.

The attackers, who are known for exploiting web application bugs to hit organizations, were already flinging specially crafted HTTP requests based on public proof-of-concept exploits, according to Amazon.

"China continues to be the most prolific source of state-sponsored cyber threat activity, with threat actors routinely operationalizing public exploits within hours or days of disclosure," wrote CJ Moses, CISO and VP of Security Engineering at Amazon. "Through monitoring in our AWS MadPot honeypot infrastructure, Amazon threat intelligence teams have identified both known groups and previously untracked threat clusters attempting to exploit CVE-2025-55182."

The finding adds urgency to warnings earlier this week about CVE-2025-55182, the maximum-severity flaw in React Server Components and dependent frameworks such as Next.js. The bug stems from unsafe deserialization inside React's server-side packages, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to send a crafted request and achieve remote code execution without any authentication.

Google-owned Wiz estimates that roughly 39 percent of cloud environments were still running vulnerable versions earlier this week, with React's dominance across the modern web making the potential blast radius enormous.

The son of a prominent Chabad rabbi in Australia was convicted on charges of child sexual abuse Friday, capping off a long-running scandal that rocked the country’s Jewish community when it first broke.

Velvel Serebryanski, 61, was found guilty by a jury at the County Court of Victoria of having molested Manny Waks when he was still a child growing up in Melbourne’s Chabad-Lubavitch educational institutions. Waks is now an advocate for victims of child sex abuse.

Serebryanski denied all three charges of indecent assault and one charge of sexual penetration of a child aged between 10 and 16, but was nevertheless found guilty on all counts, in what Waks described as “the closing of a long and painful circle.”

Serebryanski’s pre-sentencing plea hearing is scheduled for Friday next week, on December 12, where Waks will appear in court to deliver his victim impact statement.

“I am relieved to share this outcome and grateful that justice has finally been served,” Waks said in a statement announcing the conviction. “Most victims and survivors of child sexual abuse never get any justice. With today’s verdict, I’ve now held to account both of my abusers.”

Waks was abused in the late 1980s by Serebryanski and former yeshiva school guard David Cyprys, who was convicted in 2013 and sentenced to eight years in prison for raping one boy and abusing eight others attending Melbourne’s Yeshiva College from the mid-1980s to early 1990s.

The career of Admiral (ret.) Michael Rogers reflects both his admiration for Israeli resilience and his strategic belief that the country is central to the future of not only cybersecurity but defense tech and dual-use innovation.

This week, Rogers, the former head of the US National Security Agency and US Cyber Command, sat down with Defense & Tech by The Jerusalem Post on the sidelines of the International DefenseTech Summit, led by the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development, in collaboration with the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center at Tel Aviv University.

It was far from being his first time in Israel. The first few times were in the 1980s, when the biggest security challenge for Israel was Palestinian terrorism, and there were military checkpoints on highways. Now, while there are no longer checkpoints along Israeli highways, the threat is not only Palestinian terrorism, but ballistic missiles and drone attacks from neighboring countries, as well as Iran and the Houthis in Yemen.

Times have changed, and so has warfare. And so has the innovative technology being churned out by Israeli defense-tech start-ups and the large defense companies.

Rogers often remarked that what impressed him most about Israel was not only its technical excellence but the country’s societal resilience under constant geopolitical pressure. Speaking to D&T, he noted that the adaptability and creativity of Israeli entrepreneurs mirrored the urgency of their national security environment.

“The last two times that I’ve been in Israel, I was under rocket attacks,” he said, chuckling that it was different from being under rocket attacks in Afghanistan or Iraq.

“I was at dinner with a friend, and we were sitting at a bar, and people started seeing alerts on their phones and calmly walked to a center corridor for shelter. I was mentally thinking how we would need to respond should there be an impact – I’m conditioned to do that. And everyone around me was calm. If we were in a restaurant in New York City, there would be panic. It amazed me,” he said.

After retiring from the US Navy in 2018, Rogers quickly gravitated toward Israel’s hi-tech sector.

“It was a strategic thought process. I wanted to stay involved in technology, defense, and national security. I spent a lot of time working in various nations and various defense ecosystems,” he said.

He joined Team8, the Tel Aviv-based venture capital firm created by veterans of Unit 8200, Israel’s elite signal intelligence unit. As an operating partner, Rogers advised start-ups on global expansion and helped shape strategies related to cyberdefense and intelligence.

His move to Team8 was not without controversy. Some former NSA colleagues criticized his decision to join a firm so closely linked to Unit 8200, arguing it blurred lines between US intelligence leadership and foreign military-linked ventures.

But Rogers has defended his role as part of a broader mission to foster global collaboration in cybersecurity, stressing that threats are transnational and require partnerships across borders. While Israel and the United States have enjoyed a clear technological advantage over the past few decades, adversaries continue to work to overcome and negate that technology.

“What happens if that [technological advantage] is not the case? If we face adversaries who are technologically peers, or even better? What does that mean for us? We cannot assume that we will always have the technological advantage,” he said.

She noted that members of both parties often claim to have solutions for affordability, the housing crisis, and pharmaceutical costs, but their personal financial interests tell a different story.

“So when you hear members of both parties saying that they have solutions for affordability, the housing crisis, pharmaceuticals, all this, and yet, you look at their personal investments, you’ll know that it’s literally just political gamesmanship,” she said.

Luna criticized the lack of meaningful restrictions on congressional trading, pointing to what she described as daily occurrences of insider behavior.

“Unless we actually prevent insider trading, which is happening every single day in Congress, if people are telling you otherwise, they are lying to you,” she said.

Meanwhile Turkey is 1.99, Egypt 2.9, Nigeria 5.2, Pakistan 3.4, Indonesia 2.2, and most of sub-Saharan Africa remains above 4.

Layer on top the largest sustained migration in human history. Between 2000 and 2025 roughly 110 million people moved from the global South to Europe, North America, and Australia, with UN projections showing another 200-300M by mid-century. No previous empire, no previous century, has ever seen population movement on this scale.

The result is already visible in every major Western city. Native children are minorities today in the public schools of London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Toronto, Sydney, and most large American metros. The rest of the West is simply next in line. By 2040-2050 the native-born of European descent will be minorities in the under-30 age group in every single Western country without exception.

This is no longer a national story. It is the biggest demographic turnover the world has ever witnessed, happening in one human lifetime, driven by fertility differentials no government has ever reversed and migration flows no democracy has ever stopped once they reach critical mass.

The same elites who spent 30 years dismissing these trends as racist fever dreams now quietly place their own children in private schools that remain 80-90% white or East Asian while lecturing the rest of us to celebrate the transformation they personally avoid.

History has watched founding populations lose demographic dominance before. It has never once ended with the old culture, language, or social trust intact. The West is running the experiment at global scale and warp speed.

The numbers don’t negotiate. They simply arrive, one kindergarten class at a time, until the old world is gone.

Israel shredding Gaza ceasefire while US distracted by Ukraine

Jerusalem acts with impunity as truce violations, and civilian casualties, mount

There is no ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, even though an agreement reached on October 9 supposedly established one.

The Israeli assault on the Strip continues, albeit at a reduced pace from what it was for most of the past two years. By one count, Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement 591 times between October 10 and December 2 with a combination of air and artillery attacks and direct shootings. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reports that during this period, 347 Palestinians have been killed and 889 injured. The pattern of casualties including women and children as well as journalists continues.

Meanwhile, it is hard to find any documented Israeli casualties in the Gaza Strip during the same period, beyond an early shooting incident at Rafah in which Israel says a soldier was killed and Hamas says it had nothing to do with it.

The rules of engagement that Israel has given itself during this “ceasefire” are illustrated by the killing of two Palestinians last weekend along the “yellow line” ceasefire boundary near Khan Younis. The Israeli military said its forces had “identified two suspects" who “conducted suspicious activities,” after which “the air force, directed by forces on the ground, eliminated the suspects in order to remove the threat.” The “threat” consisted of two boys, ages 9 and 10, who had left their home to gather wood.

The same pattern of Israeli conduct prevails today in Lebanon, where a ceasefire agreement was reached in November 2024. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has recorded more than 7,500 airspace violations and nearly 2,500 ground violations by Israel in what the U.N. special rapporteur describes as a “total disregard for the ceasefire agreement.”

The Israeli attitude toward ceasefires was also displayed after an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and partial prisoner exchange was reached in January of this year. Israel welcomed some released hostages and used the breather for its military forces before ending the ceasefire and resuming its full-scale assault in March. The Israeli government evidently had no intention of ever implementing the later phases of that agreement.

Apart from agreeing to a ceasefire, there was no involvement by Hamas or any other Palestinians in the current 20-point “peace plan” for Gaza. The Trump administration constructed it, with the amount of input from Israel left unsaid but with a result that heavily favors Israel. Hamas thus rejects the plan, citing among other things how it leaves Palestinians under foreign rule.

In Gaza, that foreign rule would involve an international body headed by a firm backer of Israel: Donald Trump. The one other named prospective member of this supervisory body is former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is a controversial figure among Arabs for reasons involving both his abetting of the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 and his later performance as an international envoy addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The billionaire family poised to rewire U.S. media in Israel’s favor

Having acquired Paramount and CBS and eyeing TikTok and CNN, the Ellisons are constructing a pro-Israel information empire with unprecedented reach.

In early September, the Hollywood producer Lawrence Bender — known for his work with Quentin Tarantino on films including “Pulp Fiction” and “Inglourious Basterds” — had what he later described as “a really tough conversation” with the investors in “Red Alert,” an Israeli miniseries that dramatizes the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023.

With just weeks remaining before the anticipated release on the second anniversary of the attacks, the show, produced by Israeli mass media company Keshet Media Group, was struggling to secure distribution outside of Israel. The news environment was far from favorable: Israeli fighter jets had just attacked a residential compound in Qatar, and a pledge to boycott Israeli film institutions that were “implicated” in the genocide in the Gaza Strip had collected thousands of signatures in Hollywood.

“No one’s going to want to buy something from the Israelis,” Bender, an executive producer of “Red Alert,” told the investors, as he recalled on stage at a Jewish National Fund–USA conference the following month. Among those investors was the Israel Entertainment Fund, which JNF–USA established last year with the Israeli streaming service Izzy to produce television and film for international audiences, with a focus on projects filmed in the “Gaza Envelope” region of southern Israel. “We were pretty stressed about what we were going to do,” Izzy CEO Nati Dinnar‏, interviewing Bender on stage, recalled.

According to its backers, “Red Alert” is essentially a work of Israeli propaganda at a moment when a majority of Americans view Israel’s government unfavorably. The Israel Entertainment Fund, in a slide deck featuring “Red Alert,” says that its projects benefit Israel by “educating viewers and altering perceptions.” Bender said that “our purpose” in making the show was to “change the conversation” about Israel among Americans, Europeans, and other viewers abroad.

A deal to reach that crucial international audience materialized only after Bender encountered David Ellison, the upstart Hollywood mogul, at a memorial service in September. With financing from his tech billionaire father, Oracle executive chairman Larry Ellison, David Ellison had recently merged his Skydance Media with the old-line movie studio Paramount. “It would be my honor to be a partner in this,” he emailed after watching “Red Alert,” according to Bender. “In Hollywood, that’s a rare thing,” Bender said at the JNF–USA conference, describing the studio head as “a big supporter of Israel.”
