Not happy about it’: Wayne Swan slams Jews who booed Albo

ALP president Wayne Swan has criticised members of the Jewish community at Sunday night’s vigil for booing Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Jewish people boo @AlboMP on arrival at #Bondi vigil but they support #Netanyahu who allowed 1200 Israelis to be slaughtered by Hamas then murdered 70000 innocent people in Gaza.

“It is beyond belief that such hypocrisy can become respectable.”

Contacted about reposting the tweet, Mr Swan confirmed he had done so and said he was “not happy” that people had booed the Prime Minister.

“I am not happy about it,” he said. “I don’t think anyone should be.”

He said he “didn’t know” if those attending supported the “slaughter” of Palestinians in Gaza, as suggested by Mr Compton.
