The American Dream got crushed back in the late 80's with a NSF scheme to import foreign tech workers due to manipulated future "shortage" of workers that didn't exist.

When jobs go to Americans rather than H1-B's, when H1-B's who replaced American workers who were fired or laid off in favor of cheap labor are sent back, when recruiting agencies are run by Americans rather than foreigners, then maybe the dream will return. Repatriate American jobs back to America and hire those who have been wrongly denied employment for too long.
