On Q's use of exclamation points – we are seeing them moar frequently in the 'signatures' now. The first use of WWG1WGA with an exclamation point was #1362. The earliest use in the signatures is This is not a game! (#145) but by #187 or so it lost the exclamation point.

There were seldom used in the first hundred or so, except for !!! as a standalone comment, and in other text besides signatures. I'm observant of punctuation because some forms (markers, kill box, use of capitals or not) seems to be significant and develops over time.
