I just recently tried chat gpt 5. No chat got up until that point. It just regurgitates stuff on the web. Zero independent thought mixed with meaningless platitudes. After physics based questions, I called it out for persuading vulnerable users to harm themselves. It became very defensive and arrogant. Called it out for lying as well. Same response very defensive and arrogant.
When I returned to physics based questions it tried to pass off on me bad math results. I called it out and then it no longer wanted to answer questions.
Grok…..it seemed to have a little more in depth answers but still no original thought. Both systems feigned an inability to accurately assess surrounding terrain for a given lat long however Grok finally fessed up the truth. Grok refused to cooperate any further unless I created an account. No thanks.

I have stayed away from it precisely because of this. I like how it tries to butter up the user vice providing hard data to simply affirm or contradict what the user is thinking or asking. Bottom line , I agree not trustworthy.
