A big portion of the murdered Jews were not urban (assimilated or not) but rather Jews who lived in Jewish only settlements in Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, etc).
The fact that people lie about mass murder for their own nefarious ends does not negate the existence of actual mass murder.
