๐จ๐ฎ๐ท๐บ๐ธ The U.S. struck Iranian desalination infrastructure. Strategic implications:
This map shows every desalination plant in the Persian Gulf. Gulf state water dependency on desalination:
โ Kuwait: ~100%
โ Qatar: ~99%
โ Bahrain: ~97%
โ UAE: ~90%
โ Saudi Arabia: ~70%
All plants are coastal, fixed, unarmored, and within range of Iranian SRBMs (Fateh-110, 300 km), MRBMs, and low-altitude cruise missiles (Quds-1, Paveh) that fly below standard radar detection thresholds.
These nations have no significant freshwater alternatives and no aquifers capable of sustaining current populations. Estimated time to civilian water crisis if primary desalination capacity is knocked out: 48-72 hours.
By targeting Iranian water infrastructure, the U.S. has established a precedent that desalination plants are legitimate military targets. Every plant on this map is now a valid reciprocal target under the same logic.
Iran has the range, the inventory, and now the justification.
