AP Shills For Big Pharma Antidepressants With 'Bewildering' Hit Piece

Check this out… The Trump FDA's top drug regulator, Dr. Tracy Beth Hoeg, is working to hire a researcher and friend who strongly believes the agency should add new warnings about antidepressants and pregnancy risks.

So what does the Associated Press do? They pen a hit piece, smearing Hoeg, her associate, and suggesting that peer reviewed studies over the risks are 'unproven.'

Associated Press Cannot Explain Bewildering Reporting on FDA’s Tracy Hoeg and Antidepressant Risks

Cruising through X last week a weird story caught my eye: it reported that The Food and Drug Administration’s top drug regulator, Dr. Tracy Beth Hoeg, was trying to hire a “friend” who wants the FDA to add warnings to antidepressants about “unproven pregnancy risks.” The story makes several claims that are bewildering and appear to be fabricated. I sent several questions to AP’s global health editor Jonathan Fahey, but he did not respond to repeated requests to explain the article’s puzzling errors.

AP reporter Matthew Perrone later blocked me on X. I’ve pasted my email to Fahey at the bottom of this article.

The person AP’s Matthew Perrone identifies as a “friend” of FDA’s Hoeg is Dr. Adam Urato, chief of maternal-fetal medicine at Metro West Medical Center in Massachusetts.

One passage in the AP story stood out to me:

Within the agency, Hoeg’s close relationship with Urato is viewed as a clear conflict of interest that, under normal FDA standards, would result in her recusing herself from any work on the petition. But Hoeg is actively working to speed up the agency’s review of her friend’s proposal, according to the people familiar with the situation.

I have never seen the term “friend” defined as a “conflict of interest” by any federal agency. Nor have I run across “friend” defined as a “conflict of interest” in the peer-reviewed scientific literature. It’s a conflict of interest that doesn’t seem to exist.

And I happen to know quite a bit about conflicts of interest in science, because I’m an expert on the matter.

Could There be a Military Draft? Trump Administration Says it's 'On Table'

As the United States continues to strike Iran roughly 10 days since ordered by President Donald Trump, questions about how long the war may last have been coupled with the prospect of a military draft that administration officials admit remains "on the table.”

Six U.S. soldiers have been killed in the war that Trump has continually defended on the backdrop of what he and other senior officials have attributed to “an imminent threat” posed by Iran towards the U.S., Israel and other Middle East nations. The potential length of this conflict has drawn many assumptions, as Trump has floated a “4-5 weeks” duration while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been more clandestine in presenting any particular timeframe due to not giving away U.S. military strategies.

That, in turn, has led to questions of whether U.S. troops could ultimately be on the ground in Iran due to airstrikes historically not providing enough military might over time for sustainability.

Australia’s Deepening Involvement in US War on Iran

Australia’s support for the U.S.-Israel war against Iran by hosting of a string of U.S. military bases and providing a ‘spy’ plane to defend the Gulf states is a critical contribution to the U.S. war machine, writes Peter Cronau.

Australia is doing what it has done for decades when the United States wages war in the Middle East.

Australia is providing intelligence architecture, intelligence collection, communication systems, military intelligence specialists, and the political cover that helps support the assault.

When the federal government announced on Monday that it will be sending a “surveillance” plane “in support of collective defence” of countries in the Persian Gulf, it will by necessity be effectively integrating and cooperating with the U.S.-Israel operation in the Gulf.

The line between ‘defensive’ and offensive’ is a blurry one at best. By defending the Gulf states from Iranian attacks, the Wedgetail will be mapping out the launch locations of those missiles and drones, to help track and intercept incoming strikes.

But the intelligence it gathers can also assist in U.S.-Israeli attacks on the identified launch sites and associated facilities. The E-7A Wedgetail is much more than a mere defensive aircraft and is described by the RAAF itself as “one of the most advanced airspace battle management capabilities in the world.” It says:

“The Wedgetail’s ability to coordinate a joint air, sea and land battle in real time significantly increases the effectiveness of the Australian Defence Force. The Wedgetail has been modified for the modern battlespace…. simultaneous tracking of airborne and maritime targets is made possible.”

Canberra says Australia is “not involved” because it is not dropping the bombs itself. That is the usual deception. But modern war is not just the aircraft over the target.

In a globally networked world, it is the satellite feed, the launch detection, the target support, the command post, the battle management platform, the submarine signals, the refuelling base, the overflight corridor, the embedded officers inside the coalition forces.

The country that provides those things is not outside the war, but is an intricate part of it.

The sprawling U.S. satellite base at Pine Gap in the centre of Australia just outside of Alice Springs is not a passive listening post. It is one of the U.S.’s most sophisticated satellite surveillance hubs, a source of real battlefield intelligence, and is integrated into U.S. nuclear warfighting.

Bringing overwhelming military surveillance technology to conflicts and wars, including the present war against Iran, is one of the main purposes for which the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap (JDFPG) was built by the United States in Central Australia over fifty years ago.

And it has expanded exponentially since then. Initially hosting just two satellite dishes, the base has rapidly expanded in the past five years, and is now host to 45 satellite radomes and dishes.

An American former NSA analyst and veteran of Pine Gap verified what experts have long deduced, when he confirmed to Declassified Australia in November 2023 that Pine Gap was collecting intelligence data not only on the conflict in Gaza but also on “surrounding areas” in the Middle East. The intelligence gathered in Australia is passed to the U.S. who forwards much of it to Israel.

US Empire Turns Syria Into Terrorist Hub

Empire’s destruction of Syria serves to advance its imperial hegemony against additional prey countries using terrorist assets.

Geopolitical analyst Brian Berletic recently noted,

“the CIA would want to destabilize China, and that would be the best way to do it, to foment unrest and to join with those Uighurs in pushing the Han Chinese in Beijing from internal places rather than external.”(2)

Empire’s strategic use of ISIS in Syria continues to serve Western-supported Zionist barbarism. A report by The Cradle indicates that Israel is cooperating with the ISIS-linked “Yasser Abu Shabab’ militia whose tasks include “preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza and fighting Hamas”.(3)

Similarly, ISIS terrorism(4) continues to afflict Iran, which should not be surprising, since Iran was described by General Flynn years ago as a country in Washington’s crosshairs for regime change.(5)

Washington’s international hegemony equates to more terrorism globally, and now the prime terror elements have been legitimized in “New Syria” where their numbers and power will grow.

Syria, thanks to Washington’s Regime Change War, is now a cradle of sectarian terrorism. Even as terrorist elements are being incorporated into the military, “government”-affiliated extremists are committing genocide against minorities.(6)

Prior to Washington’s Regime Change War, Syria was a cradle of civilisation, a country of tolerance, a country of ethnic and religious pluralism.

Now it is a hub of extremism and terrorism, and a stepping stone for further imperial conquests.

Matt Canavan is elected the new leader of the Nationals as Pauline Hanson's One Nation threatens to make party extinct

Queensland senator Matt Canavan has won the vote to become the next leader of the National Party after David Littleproud's surprise resignation on Tuesday.

Party members elected Victorian MP Darren Chester as deputy leader.

Former deputy leader Kevin Hogan and Senator Bridget McKenzie unsuccessfully contested the leadership.

Canavan, an economist, previously worked as Barnaby Joyce's chief of staff when he was Agriculture Minister.

Canavan was elected senator in 2014 and was a minister in Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison's governments.

He is a rare party leader from the Senate. Traditionally, leaders sit in the House of Representatives.

In Canberra on Tuesday, Littleproud fought back tears as he told reporters he was exhausted after years in the top job.

'I'm buggered and I've had enough,' he said.
