Brad Pitt has petitioned a Los Angeles court to compel businessman Yuri Shefler to testify in the ongoing legal dispute over the sale of a stake in the French winery Chateau Miraval, TMZ reports, citing court documents.
According to Pitt, his ex-wife Angelina Jolie sold her share of the winery to the Shefler-led Stoli Group without his consent. The actor contends that the deal was orchestrated and finalized under the businessman's direction, making his testimony essential to the proceedings.
Pitt is requesting that the deposition be conducted remotely, noting that Shefler has previously refused to testify under oath. The businessman has opposed the subpoena, citing his residency in Switzerland.
Pitt and Jolie purchased Chateau Miraval in 2008. Following their divorce, the actress sold her stake to Stoli in 2022. Pitt is currently challenging the transaction in court and seeking to have it overturned.
